obviously you could fade yourself and make a profit. you probably have some mixed up preconceived notions on sportsbetting. dedicate your time to figuring out what these are. bet very little or not at all. track your plays as so and so type of play. find out what angles youre using that work or dont work.
 
very time consuming and inexpensive.
chances are youll get bored and quit.

1. delete your bookie phone #.
 
2. dont look at lines/spreads or visit gambling web sites.
 
3. take all your money off any online book you have it in.
 
 
 
 
that will at least slow you down enough to maybe get you go stop.

so thats like being shot near hearth, so you have minimum chance of survivin

good advice here too. 

after sitting on your hands, you can then give yourself "the stranger", and before you know it the game will already have started and you wont be able to get down on it.

problem solved.

i quit for a little bit when i had a terrible spell, its a sick sick disease many of us have, when were down its even sicker.......if this is destroying your life you have to think what is more important
 
anyone giving you negative advice has got issues themselves, gambling problems are serious.......go to a meeting, im serious, ive been to one before and listen to some of their stories it will scare the shit out of you

Either win or quit. I used to pick public favorites in the early days and yes, it takes a few losses to learn the Books speak a language.

They tell you who they want you on....adapt or quit.

This isn't a disease or a syndrome, grow some balls and take responsibility for your actions.

Find a GA near you and get some help. Doing more bets, little or big, is not going to help you. You certainly won't get help on a forum for gambling, where everywhere you look reminds you of gambling.
 
This really goes out to anyone who feels they need to stop.

Sometimes taking a break will help you see the winners a little more clearly. When you are losing, it seems like that's all you can see are the losers.

Mivco, don't listen to these fools who are telling you to kill yourself just because you are betting when you know you should not be. 
 
My advice is to keep betting with a local book who has some mob connections so when you decide to stiff him come payday, he will either break your limbs or have you killed. 
 
At least that way you don't have to take matters into your own hands by showing responsibility for your own actions.

If you keep dwelling on how much you lose, or how you always lose... you will bring more losing to you.
 
If you focus your mind on winning, and imagine yourself winning you will bring the wins to you.
 
I know it sounds crazy, but the law of attraction is real.
 
Just give this a try...
 
Always think positive and be as happy as you can. Try to surround yourself with positive things, such as anything you like that will make you happy. Dont allow negative thoughts of losing and gambling to enter your head.
 
Here is all you need to be thinking...
 
"I will have a winning week"
 
If you say that over and over in your head, you will have success, but most importantly, you must believe it!
 
Other than this power of the mind stuff. Learn from your betting mistakes. Fade the public. It really makes sense. If you fade the public, in essence, your are really backing Vegas, which is a pretty smart investment considering that Vegas is worth like 100 billion dollars.

Here is some insight and a very good read for ANY sports bettor/gambler. It is always good to have an open mind and look at all sides of a subject whether you are religious or not. If you are serious about quitting do whatever you can to stop and don't stop trying to quit until you do. Good Luck.
