That is a fact.
And the death rate is accelerating.
Only a few weeks ago deaths were under 800 per day.
Now it is more than DOUBLE that

We are going to witness at least 20 percent destruction of wildlife life on this planet. The mutations is infecting all mammals. Not sure if it has crossed over to reptile fish or amphibian but the models staggered me today as I researched this cluster 5 variation....

sideshow to the COVID-19 pandemic, authorities in the Netherlands began to gas tens of thousands of mink on 6 June, most of them pups born only weeks ago. SARS-CoV-2 has attacked farms that raise the animals for fur, and the Dutch government worries infected mink could become a viral reservoir that could cause new outbreaks in humans.
The mink outbreaks are “spillover” from the human pandemic—a zoonosis in reverse that has offered scientists in the Netherlands a unique chance to study how the virus jumps between species and burns through large animal populations.

This might be the common ground to actually agree with.
Most Republicans understand the value of wildlife even if it becomes the list for a trophy kill. The outdoor sport enthusiast nra and the hunters meet the animal protection rights movement with sustainable harvest methods.
Both sides value wildlife maybe for different purposes or goals and the threat exists that this virus is real and needs to be abated. Maybe different reasons but both sides have a stake in this share in my opinion.

"This is a grim day for the country, because we're seeing cases skyrocketing,
we're seeing hospitals fill up and we're also seeing the death toll march up,"
Murthy, co-chair of President-elect Joe Biden's Transition Covid-19 Advisory Board, said.
"We're at a point now, even pre-Thanksgiving, where we are surging
beyond any level that we have seen over the last eight months," he added.

Have you seen The first lady in mink coats ?
This is very real concern for due to farms offer a more humane approach to harvesting mink without traps.

The Dakotas are 'as bad as it gets
anywhere in the world' for COVID-19
South Dakota welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors to a massive
motorcycle rally this summer, declined to cancel the state fair and still
doesn't require masks. Now its hospitals are filling up and the state's
current COVID-19 death rate is
among the worst in the world.
The situation is similarly dire in North Dakota.
Both North and South Dakota now face a predictably tragic reality that
health experts tell USA TODAY could have been largely prevented
with earlier public health actions.
Months of lax regulations have contributed to a growing public health crisis.
The current rates of infection and deaths per capita in South Dakota and
previously restriction-free North Dakota are what Dr. Ali Mokdad would e
xpect to see in a war-torn nation — not here.
“How could we allow this in the United States to happen?" asked Mokdad,
a professor at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University
of Washington in Seattle. “This is unacceptable by any standards.”
