Another senseless mass shooting happened again today, there is no hope in sight for this unique predicament in this country not seen in other countries on this planet.    

They won't.  Ever.  It's part of their identity now.   Taking away their weapons of war and only leaving them with self-defense handguns, would be like surgically removing their private-parts.

No doubt. The obsession with guns, gun culture, and mass production of rifles and high powered guns in this country are the problems.

The "it's the people" argument from the GOP is tired and played out. Other countries also have people, and mental illness. Other countries with way higher populations than the U.S. do not experience mass shootings. It is because access to guns is denied, and state government does not allow the mass production of assault rifles.  It's all about the cash from gun production and sales in America. This gets overlooked with the excuse that it's just the people. No it isn't.

Just read an article on this, and it looks like it's another woke lib who can not take an L. Went back to retaliate at his work because he was fired. There will be more violence around the country as the economy goes down the hole. The left keeps bitchin and whining about Trump and the left spends ever waking minute of their lives (along with half this sub) crying over Trump and not trying to fix the economy. The left would rather burn the economy down than have Trump back. If the left spent as much time trying to fix the economy as they did on the Trump which hunt, maybe we wouldn't be in such a bad spot. As the economy goes down, violence increases.

Talk about another played out term, "Woke Lib". Who actually speaks like this.  Those who know they cannot debate based on facts, so throw out the phrase "woke" when they know they are wrong.  So if you want to curb mass shootings and protect American lives that makes you "woke"? So other countries do not have economic problems? Why aren't those frustrated at work in other countries shooting up their work with rifles like they are in the U.S.?

Pretty sure during global recessions, we aren't hearing about these work mass shootings occurring in other advanced countries and economies? Explanation?

Again, economic problems, inequality, drugs, political leadership, and mental illness are not unique to the U.S.. So what is the problem??? Hmmm. Enlighten us.

Yes, because I am sure those were AR-15s hanging in the back of trucks in the 70s. There has been zero advancements in guns and weaponry over the last 50 years, and no increase in gun manufacturing, sales, and ownership in the last 5 decades. None at all. Guns are not the problem at all. 

Just wow. Comparing the 1970s to 2023. We have to better than this.

To be fair, these aren't actual ARs. They are what you would call an AR variant, which in today's market, any rifle chambered in .223 is just blanket called an AR variant. Truth be told, you would've had a better chance of seeing an actual AR-15 in the back of some fisherman's pick-up in the 70s than you would anywhere today.

 Well, the top 2 countries with the most human population would be China and India. You want to compare gun violence in those countries to the US but you know what else you don't compare with those 3? Quality of life. You know what those 2 other counties have, besides low gun holders and low gun deaths? Slavery in the workforce, below poverty quality of life on a mass scale, malnutrition, not to mention lack of freedoms. Their gov'ts have their people so afraid of the political powers, you know what happens to their citizens when they speak negatively about their govt? Ya, they go missing or are exiled from civilization. You know what happens here to the ones that speak out against our gov't? They get TV air time and become members of political parties. What happens when you give those citizens guns in those countries? Do you think their gov't would have as much control over their citizens as they currently do now? Those other countries controlled guns so much that people gave up their freedoms and liberty because they had no way to protect themselves against a tyrannical gov't.

Again, guns are just the tool the sick individuals can use for violence. Much like bombs in other countries that have strict gun laws. 

Myth is that criminals don't bother with gun regulations.  Evidences show strong gun control reduces the chance guns fall into the wrong hands.  Police recover thousands of  guns.  They find that most legal guns aren't used in crimes and most illegal guns come from states with weaker gun control.  Legal guns are mostly used by legal gun owners for legal purposes.  Licensing gun owners and registering guns don't prevent guns from being used for legal purposes.

Clifford law center reveals that 17 of 20 states with highest rates of gun deaths rank low in gun control.  For example, California ranks higher in gun safety while Arkansas rank among the lowest.

 Let me get this straight,your trying to say people's lives in China and India is worse because they aren't allowed easy access to guns.People in India and China can have guns,so WTF are you talking about?What kind of idiotic statement is that.Maybe their lives are worse because between those 2 countries,they have over 33% of the worlds population.Think about that,1 out of every 3 people on this planet,comes from either China or India.You think maybe that has a little something more to do with their quality of life,instead of whether or not it's easy to get a gun.

When Ted Cruz said we should arm the schools more, the evidence he had to back that up was "Look at how we protect our banks. We protect our banks with armed guards and we should treat our kids like that."

Good point Midnight. I also mentioned that today with the bank shooting. Very likely had armed guards or police, as it looks like it was one a few banks in the small town. Didn't seem to do any good. 

The guy got fired and couldn't take a loss like a real human so he went back to his former employee and committed those heinous acts against the people he worked with. Typical dem  actions actually. When they lose they take the ball and leave so nobody else can play because they want everyone to soak in their sorrow. Instead of working on themselves to become better, they hurt others to make themselves feel better.  Do you find it ironic that once reports about him getting fired shortly before, supporting BLM and talking shit about Trump started to come out, all MSM outlets removed coverage? See the agenda MSM is trying to push? Where are the stories now? Oh, the guy was a leftist so MSM can't talk about the story any more because the details hurt the left and the left can't have that in the media now, can they? It goes against everything they are trying to portray. The left so desperately wants the next shooting to be from a republican, white guy. You know that's the truth. My comment about other countries and guns had more to do with the fact that their gov'ts have way more control over their people which is NOT good for a country. Name one country where the gov't has complete control and the country is prospering?  Ever heard of the one child policy in China that lasted decades? How's that for freedom?  What about China locking citizens in their homes for years from covid? How's that for freedom? Social credit scores? What about India's citizens going to work in the middle east for slave labor to support their families back home still living in poverty? I'm not saying that guns would fix those issues, but when you arm the citizens, the gov't will never control the people like they do in China. China also prosecutes to the fullest for gun related crimes, something the Dem DAs DO NOT DO HERE!  The Gov't, as much as you and half this forum want, will never have complete control over peoples freedoms like govts do in other countries. Is it because of arms? Maybe, maybe not. If you want to give away your rights, go for it. Try to rely on the govt for you and your families future. Guess what, as much as they say they care about you, they only care about your vote. Once they have your vote, you're trash to them.
