Also, be careful about saying this kind of stuff. The left will be on a witch hunt for trying to enforce any laws.
How many times do we read about criminals getting caught and immediately released? How many of them go right out and commit another violent crime?!

@BigGame90 I actually didn't read the article. My point is any gun possession is three years,in my eyes there is no legal possession of a firearm. If you are caught with a gun you do 3 years.
You know what happens to people in countries that have no legal gun ownership? You want to live life in the US like people in China? Locked inside for 3 years from covid? Pushed out of society for a bad human credit score? You think people in North Korea are happy?

How many times do we read about criminals getting caught, and then being pardoned. How many of them go right out and commit another crime? You don't ever seem to have a problem with that happening. But like I said I'm ok with,if someone were to get caught with a gun, give them 3 years. If someone commits a gun crime give them the death penalty,I'm perfectly fine with both of them scenarios.

You and many others on the right in here complain about life in America on a daily basis, already accusing the government of being like China. Apparently gun ownership has nothing to do with your happiness here in the U.S. It's almost like gun ownership has no correlation with happiness or life satisfaction.

Careful, the left might be coming after you with those kind of comments. You might offend some people in here for trying to enforce the law on criminals.

I do think I know what would happen to people in countries that have no legal gun ownership. There would be a lot less innocent people dying of gunshots. We're not China or North Korea,we actually vote in our leaders. You saying that's what would happen if we outlawed guns is completely bull shit.Pushed out of society for a bad human credit score, that's a little dramatic even for you Sally.Nice try at the scare tactic.

I don't ever complain about living in the US. I have issues with morons and uncivilized citizens here in the US because there are quite a few. I have my issues with aspects of the US but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I've never fired a gun but I still support the right to legally own a firearm. I don't have an answer for gun violence. I don't have an answer on how to prevent or stop criminals. I would start with upholding the laws on the books and prosecuting criminals. I think you can agree with that as well. I do not support the catch and release "because they will become good citizens if we just give them another chance". That's political BS and grandstanding.

I ain't worried about "the left" coming after me,and I ain't worried about offending anyone either.I think your just assuming people don't want laws enforced on criminals, cause that's the story line your fed by the media who you say not to believe.

If you guys are just worried about being a stickler to what's in the constitution. How bout if we let people legally own a firearm,it just can't be a firearm that actually works. This way the 2nd amendment wouldn't be affected,it just says you have the right to keep and bear arms,it doesn't say anything about whether it has to be a functioning arm you get to bear.

Or why don't we keep allowing gun owners but lock up anyone convicted of committing a gun related crime? Since mental health plays a factor in crimes, why don't we also lock up anyone with a mental health disorder? Instead of giving people on the fringe the benefit of the doubt, we should just lock them out of society.

If you guys are just worried about being a stickler to what's in the constitution. How bout if we let people legally own a firearm,it just can't be a firearm that actually works. This way the 2nd amendment wouldn't be affected,it just says you have the right to keep and bear arms,it doesn't say anything about whether it has to be a functioning arm you get to bear.
true
or hand everyone a musket free ! but remove all other weapons which fire any projectile
Gun related murder...and guess what? Out on parole. Another woke DA (Los Angeles) letting violent criminals with gun related crimes out on parole. But it's the guns fault, right?

Do show me anywhere, where I've said it's the guns fault.I said if someone is caught possessing a gun give him 3 years,if guilty of gun violence give them the death penalty,or can't you read?

yet another senseless gun murder for no apparent reason of a 20 year young woman who happened to pull into the wrong driveway with friends because she was lost before home and gun owner opens fire. Doesn't look like the shooter had a criminal record. Just another psycho that should never have had access to a gun because he lacks common sense and human empathy. Too many of these cases today unfortunately.
How exactly should we screen these people for those who claim the problem is mental health? Seems to be a common defense with no real suggestions or solutions.

Gun violence is difficult to prevent. Columbia university study estimates half of all mass shootings show no red flags, no mental illness and no criminal history. Despite difficulty, RAND corporation study found moderate success in reducing gun violence for licensing, background checks, waiting period after gun purchase and red flag laws especially in suicides and domestic shootings.

Condolences to the demised young woman and her family.
Very true, it would not have happened if that home owner does not own a gun.

I know one guaranteed way to prevent gun violence, get guns out of every Tom,Dick and Harry's hands.Like that story in Florida (imagine that) 2 dads shot each others daughters in a road rage incident. So you got a couple of clowns who think their Wyatt Earp and Lucas McCain getting their daughters shot in a running shootout battle going down the road over a traffic altercation. If they don't have guns on them, neither of their daughters ever get shot, guaranteed.

This. The fact that masses of citizens do not think that guns are the major part of the problem is mind boggling.
Gun culture and availability drives the problem.

Much violence wouldn't occur if not for the killing efficiency of modern guns. Harder to kill people with other tools. Worldwide, many countries realize that gun control is the most cost effective way to reduce gun violence which is why they are more successful. However in the US, gun worshippers blindly refuse to believe guns are the problem. They seek useless solutions despite lack of evidence to support investing in mental health treatment and defenses of potential targets.
