I am and always have been a liberal leaning MODERATE - who has voted multiple times for both democrat and REPUBLICAN candidates up and down the ballot, but I have no affiliation - nor will I ever - to either major party.

And the reality of this speech was simple: Trump spoke of the American Dream, he spoke of bringing people together, he spoke of helping African-Americans, Hispanics and those who have been left behind.
On late show, Colbert says none of this is normal after republican national convention. Years ago, Trump incited an attack on capitol in order to obstruct the peaceful transfer aof power for the first time in US history. Then he was impeached and indicted alot. He was found guilty of defamation, sexual assault, tax evasion, business fraud and falsifying business records to hide election scandal. Now republicans want voters to forget all that. Key difference is that GOP has become a fascist party with cult of leader and suppression of internal dissent. Disagreeing with Trump lies is political suicide for republican candidates.
