Correct.
We are very far apart since I am far-Right and you are very Left-leaning on these views.
It is that sort of complacency that spreads and meantime the other side is not so tolerant and grows. The other side 'forces' their behavior on you whether you want it or not.
Then you have become accepting of something in society that you never would at home. Then when your own family succumbs to it you have to be accepting there as well.
It is almost ladder-logic -- one side grows and becomes even more intolerant and forceful, while the other side shrinks.
The problem with that logic is that the overwhelming majority of folks have always known what is 'bad'. But now they are allowing the 'fringe' to grow quite unchecked.
If you, supposedly, do not allow it at home (or teach against it) -- then innately you recognize it as bad. But think it is wrong to speak out against it in society as a whole.
That is the case with a lot of people. It stems from the same sentiment of the people that do not want to get involved, etc. You cannot have a society where it is a free-for-all and everyone doing whatever they feel is okay just because they like it or want to. It simply leads downhill and gathers speed. A good moral, law-abiding society is simply better.
