and it was for Amazon hq not a trucking warehouse like people think with highway problems with tractor trailers or semi’s… big rigs etc. Its no different than what steve money bags wants to do with the chop shop villages surrounding citi field. There was nothing but up and she wanted her face to be the talk of killing that plan

I am not so sure. I am not here to defend her at all.
But she got some obvious 'I told you so' when they had to put a pause on the HQ in VA. Then they followed that up with an announcement of their huge layoffs.
But she was not the only one that did not want it -- she was simply the loudest and most well-known.
Whether you agree with her or the think tank's position of it 'subsidizing' Amazon because of the $3Billion in tax cuts or not -- there would certainly have been some hidden costs, etc.
You may be correct that longterm and overall it would be good.
But, if you are one of the very many that did not get a job there -- are you really wanting the costs in the area of everything, including housing, to go up that much? I understand that bringing jobs to the community is good.
But a rising tide lifting all boats is fine -- if you are in a boat. Otherwise, where is your benefit?
Amazon should have done a much better job of getting across the many ways they would help ALL citizens and the area -- not just the ones they hired.
When they decided to go elsewhere, it was a bad look for them. It was also a bad look for the others that were for it on the council, etc. that could not convince the ones that were against it of what a benefit to ALL it would have been.
At any rate, I think it is too big a knock on her. There are many other things she truly can be knocked for. Certainly, not getting enough done in her precinct is one of them.
In retrospect, maybe she has considered if she had run with the Amazon idea -- then she could have taken credit for it. Maybe next time it will be different.
But when the folks there keep overwhelmingly re-electing her -- it can be said they deserve what they vote for.

No idea why it posted like that.

Thinking back that HQ2 was to end up in Long Island City, and I don't know if you read the NY Post the other day or if you happen to keep up with the migrant crisis in NYC but Long Island City right now is like a third world country down around all the migrant shelters. Queens has the most shelters of all the boroughs and its now reported from residents that they line the streets giving haircuts and tattoos during the day, but at night it's like fight club in the streets. Latin Americans on one side and African countries on the other, just like in the beginning of Coming to America when Eddie pulls up in Queens in the winter with burn barrels cooking food and fires in the streets
In hindsight if HQ2 did end up there, those shelters probably would've been placed in other areas
