This is concerning news.

As well as the fact that the new Delta variant now makes up HALF of all covid cases in the US and that number continues to rise, particularly in low vaccination states.  You can probably guess which government is in charge in those states.

12 states most at risk have high infection rates and low vaccination rates.  Arkansas, Nevada, Utah, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Wyoming, Mississippi, Louisiana, South Carolina, Missouri and Florida.  World health organization warns against lifting public health restrictions prematurely unless vaccination rate is high enough.  But politicians are eager to gamble by lifting restrictions while public health experts are more cautious.  80% population immunity is needed to prevent winter surge in US.

Stop.... covid is serious however its not an instant death sentence...think for yourself... give yourself some credit cause the government sure does not..

With the emergence of the faster-spreading and DEADLIER "DELTA" variant among those who are *NOT* vaccinated, it seems unlikely we will escape another rough winter season  (beginning in late October)

And since so many people are NOT vaccinated, this allows more time and hosts for the virus to mutate even more, and may eventually reach a point where the current vaccines are no longer effective.   IOW, if everyone got vaccinated tomorrow, that would effectively shutdown all chances for the virus to mutate further......But if we do not, then further mutations *WILL* occur, and eventually we start all over with the shutdowns, social-distancing, NO SPORTS,  and mask-wearing until the next vaccines are ready and EVERYBODY learns from this experience.

Delta Variant isn't doing the scare job needed so what do you know, Lambda is now the new trending topic....

Yeah, my sister is asthmatic, black, and was 50 last year when she got it.  Wasn't too rough on her at all. It's a crap shoot. She's not obese but she isn't running marathons either.

There are over 606,000 Dead Americans from this "very minor illness" -- and MILLIONS more who survived but suffered horribly at home or in the hospital for WEEKS!!   Thousands more are reported to have long lasting NEGATIVE affects after recovering from covid attack -- many of which will last forever.

The NEW strain, dubbed "DELTA" is reportedly not only more infectious bu8t leads to more severe symptoms and negative health effects.  So far it is killing at the same rate but it is too early to tell if it may be even more deadly, as suspected.    Furthermore, withot vaccinations to END covid once and for all, the virus will continue to spread -- EVEN IF IT DOESN'T KILL -- and as a result of bouncing around from one host to another *IT MUTATES EVEN MORE* -- each time becoming more resistant and more deadly.   ONLY a fool or a moron *refuses* to understand this.

Correcting the record of today's erroneous posts inside this thread. The following basic, simple facts are all true. Show me your 'fake' science that proves me wrong.

Over 600,000....  is .0018 of the US Population.... average flu deaths in American are roughly 60k per year so covid has done 10 times that (in a year when there were virtually non existent cases of death through influenza - completely different discussion there).

Your point is well taken. Without writing a book. My point is the following. American citizens were never told the truth regarding how they can prevent or minimize the affects of covid. The death toll would have been much less if we were instructed to take vitamins d and c in suffficient levels on a daily basis.

Instead we were told to cover our mouth and nose with a mask and to socially distance. It has been and will continue to be a toal disinformation campaign vs the American citizens from Fauci to Biden to Psaki. The disinformation campaign is all about vaccinating everybody in the country even though the survivabilty rate is roughly 99.5% or thereabouts.

Fubah2 is right.  In many countries, vitamins supplement have been tested and they don't work.  No evidence that vitamins treat or protect against coronavirus according to Oxford and McGill universities.  However masks, social distancing, lockdowns and vaccinations have proven effective worldwide.  Every top public health organization in the world recommend them.  Despite extensive public health measures, over 600,000 still died in the US.

Downplaying seriousness of pandemic is one of the reasons why US has the most covid cases and deaths of any country in the world.  Even at  low 1% death rate, there could be 6 million deaths if entire US population is infected without vaccines.  2020 is among the deadliest years in US history with casualties greater than multiple wars combined.

The vitamin aspect goes hand in hand with healthy immune systems....someone high risk that got covid wasn't going to magically recover/survive by loading up on vitamin D & C.  They were already compromised.  People with healthy immune systems, those who take care of themselves by eating right/vitamins/exercise/etc., were not and are not the ones at risk of dying.
