    Dying??

You think the *ONLY* consequence of any concern is whether or not someone who suffers through total hell for weeks actually survives or dies?!?!  The sickness hell they go through doesn't matter? The lost income from lost work time, doesn't matter??  The possiblevery expensive, maybe crippling health care costs even if they "don't die" is of no concern?? The widely reported lingering health problems/after-effects from surviving is of no concern??? The mental/social stress to family and friends for someone hospitalized but who may ultimately survive is of no concern???

DYING (or not) is *NOT* the only consequence of this disease.

The really STUPID argument for Vitamin D to combat covid

This article was first published in The Montreal Gazette.
Christopher Labos MD, MSc | McGill University, 16 Mar 2021

I don’t endorse any vitamin or mineral as a COVID cure because they simply do NOT work.

If you wade through the morass of misinformation on the internet, you will find
many posts and videos advocating for zinc, Vitamin C or Vitamin D as COVID cures.
They promise to simultaneously prevent infections, cure the disease, save lives and
thereby make lockdowns and vaccines unnecessary.

These claims are, to put it bluntly, WRONG.
Central to these vitamin and supplement theories is the notion that doctors
are either unaware of their benefits or so far corrupted by the pharmaceutical
industry that they are deliberately ignoring their obvious benefits.

There are multiple reasons why this type of conspiracy theory would be untrue.
First, most doctors are not so morally reprehensible that they would watch millions
    die and do absolutely nothing.
Second, Pfizer (and most large drug companies) also sell vitamins and supplements.
A dose of vaccine and a bottle of vitamins both cost about $20 to $30. So Pfizer
would not have spent $2 BILLION developing a vaccine when -
if vitamin D truly was a preventative - they could have sold us vitamin D at the
same price and made a MASSIVELY larger profit --- if vitamin D worked!

But the most important fact that is often overlooked is that
these supplements have been studied and do not work.   an_light

The COVID A to Z Randomized Trial tested ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), zinc and
a combination of the two as a treatment for COVID-19. Between April and
October 2020, researchers recruited patients diagnosed with COVID-19 and
randomly assigned them to receive nothing, zinc, Vitamin C or both.
Neither zinc, nor Vitamin C, nor the combination, improved symptoms, the risk
of hospitalization or the risk of death. As the accompanying editorial pointed out,
these two supplements failed to live up to their hype.

Put to death??  By what???   Are you referring to the virus that TRUMP allowed into the country in the first place -- which NEVER should have happened??  Death from THAT virus???

Or were "thousands" killed by something else, deliberately, like a massive train derailment.

Because if it's covid, the buck stops here at the desk in the oval office.

Particualrly the northeast -- where trump DID NOT close the borders to airtraffic coming from HEASVILY INFECTED EUROPE until it was far too late.

And WHERE (airports) do international travellers coming FROM Europe to the US land *more* than anywhere else:

JFK in NY and Newark Liberty (only 35 miles away)  Those to destinations by a lnadslide over all others for INFECTED passengers arriving from Europe.

Which trump allowed to occur -- into NY and NJ.

So naturally, to any trump toilet-worshipper, this means it's ALL ENTIRELY THE FAULT of the governors of those states and nearby states.  Not trump.  No.  Not the guy whose #1 prime mandate is to PROTECT AMERICA, first and foremosty

The really STUPID argument for Vitamin D to combat covid

This article was first published in The Montreal Gazette.
Christopher Labos MD, MSc | McGill University, 16 Mar 2021

    Vitamin D

is another popular supposed COVID cure, though many of its claims
to reduce heart disease or cancer have not panned out.
I was willing to entertain the possibility that it might work for COVID-19.
But the only published trial about Vitamin D and COVID-19 shows that it does NOT!
Researchers in Brazil randomized hospitalized COVID patients to get either a placebo
or 200,000 units of Vitamin D. This is a massive dose and 20 times higher than what
most people take per week. For those patients, their blood levels of Vitamin D went up.
They just didn’t get better any faster.  Admission to the ICU, being put on a
and mortality were the *SAME* in both groups.

Many people, including British MP David Davis, got excited when a preprint article
was posted online and suggested that Vitamin D could reduce COVID mortality
by a whopping and somewhat implausible 60% and called for widespread Vitamin D
use. The study, though, had several problems and upon closer inspection was not
a standard randomized trial. It was rejected by the Lancet, and its preprint server
now says, “We have removed this preprint due to concerns about the description of
the research in this paper. This has led us to initiate an investigation into this study.”

    @fubah2

I don't think anyone is claiming Vitamin D or Zinc, etc is a cure for covid. What the claims are is that a healthy immune system is a good preventative measure. And that low Vitamin D levels makes one more susceptible to respiratory ailments. This has been talked about looooong before covid 19. I've been taking Vitanin D and Zinc for years for this very reason. Wasn't fitness and nutrition your field of study?

Geeezus you're dense!  HOW THE PHUCK DID THE "SICK PEOPLE" GET SICK IN THE FIRST PLACE????

    From covid, of course!!

And how did covid - which was identified by genome serquencing to be arriving from EUROPE --  get into NY and NJ in the first place????  How, smart guy?

BECAUSE TRUMP FAILED TO CLOSE THE BORDERS TO HEAVILY INFECTED EUROPE!

He merely closed the FRONT DOOR (air-traffic from China) to the prized chicken coop, while leaving the backdoor, two side doors and all the windows  WIDE OPEN for the foxes to get in!

THAT was his biggest failure!  We all watched in horror as Italy Spain France and UK became heavily infected and he did phuck all UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE!  ANd even then he still allowed infected Americans to return by the thousands from those infected areas!  THOUSANDS of them!

ANd the two biggest destinations for incoming flights from Europe are JFK and Newark Liberty.

He never closed the border to Canada either and their provincves of Quebec and Ontario both became very heavily infected and remain so to this day.  Guess which US state those two provinces border?   NEW YORK.  Wide open to traffic!

Trumps #1 job above all else ios to protect the American people.

HE FAILED!   And you are stupid!

Having studied Exercise science in University I am still fairly well drilled in this area.

All vitamins and minerals and exercise and a healthy weight are a positive thing.

But singling our VITAMIN D as sundance does repeatedly is MISinformation.

It has not been proven to do ANYTHING, as my article illustrates, and I posted others here before!

Chris Cuomo of CNN, trim fit, healthy, takes multi-vitmains/minerals detailed *LIVE* on air broadcasting from his home his 2 week struggle with covid.  His similarly healthy and fit and trim colleague Brooke Baldwin, was too ill to broadcast her illness from her home as Cuomo did.  She survived.   VITAMIN D, fitness and trimness having absolutley nothing to do with preventing or lessening the severity of the disease in these two relatively young middle-aged adults.

You wanna argue that one now?  Healthy as in; no heart disease, cancer, respiratory condition, OBESITY, etc.  Again, the vast majority of individuals that do not fall into this category are going to recover from covid just as they did influenza.  No hospitalizations, nothing. The correlation of Vitamin D / C whatever to "not having complications from covid" is going to show because of how healthy the individual is to begin with.  My comment was more in relation to the Vitamin discussion.  Correlation not causation....

You will not survive here. You are not a wolf, and this is the land of wolves now...

No, of course, not, because once you change the wording it makes sense.

Wordiong matters.  I don't type perfectly but I choose my words well and specifically.

Correct.   That small subset of the American population, UNDER age 65, et, etc. Not all mind you, but most should be fine.  Good for that minority of the US population.   I feel bad for those, often young people who, through no fault of their own, have asthma, or type 1 diabetes, among other medical issues.

I have **NEVER** argued that point.

    @fubah2

You don't know how sick they were. You know what they played up for the camera. This is what we know. What we have known for quite sometime before the existence of covid 19. There aren't very many reliable anti-virals on the market. Treating a virus is tricky and a lot of it comes down to a patients own immune system. Everyone I know who had covid were told to come home, stay hydrated, and rest. Obviously a healthy lifestyle, proper nutrition, exercise leads to a stronger immune system. However, and this is where the disconnect happens, the effect of Vitamin D on the body's ability to prevent, and combat, respiratory illnesses including those caused by viral pathogens has been studied, and promoted, for years. Google "Vitamin D and respiratory health" and you will find a plethora of material covering this that pre-dates 2019. So this isn'politically driven. It's just straight science. I have swore by taking Vitamin D and Zinc for respiratory health for looooong before 2019. Years. It's been a known thing in the nutrition world for quite some time and the benefits such as reducing inflammation, duration if sickness, etc, have been confirmed by scientific process. If you are unaware of this stuff, you are simply out of the loop.

Now, as far as sundance goes, if he is claiming Vitamin D and Zinc are cures for covid, which I have yet to see him do, then he is absolutely wrong and those are dangerous assertions. If he is saying the are a replacement for vaccination, I would disagree, but sundance has been anti-vaccine for long before there was a covid 19. I know his stance on vaccination and he knows mines. However, if all he is doing, certainly all I have seen him do, is say, "I'm uncomfortable with an experimental vaccination. I am taking my chances with my own immune system bolstered by both Zinc and Vitamin D, then I would say it's his prerogative and a more than adequate approach. Vitamin D does help prevent serious, symptomatic, respiratory ailments. Google it before talking shit.

And make no mistake, i'm not taking sides. This is not political for me. It's solely fitness and nutrition. I have been reading about this stuff for years. Google it. You'll find me studies that pre-date covid 19 and aren't politically biased.

    @fubah2

And again, so we're clear, this is not a political thing for me. I think where a lot of contentiousness between us, specifically, arises is because you feel dumped on. Several people coming at you and I become a voice in the crowd. Then Kelly jumps in and he and I tend to escalate the issue more than where it even was between you and I. I have no beef with you. No beef with Kelly. I am not taking sides. This is an issue that has significance with me and one I have been reading up on for years prior to covid 19. I am pro vaccine, in theory. I am pro mRNA therapy, in theory. I had been reading up on the use of mRNA prior to the fall of 2019 and long before it was used in a covid vaccine. I have said many times before on this site that mRNA and crispr are the future of medicine but make no mistake, the shit is still very much experimental. So you can't blame a guy for having misgivings about vaccination and banking all his own immune system, if generally healthy.

Regardless, it is a fact that some have little to no symptoms and some suffer BIGLY, including hospitalization for several weeks and some reports of several MONTHS, but survive.

Obviously a healthy lifestyle, proper nutrition, exercise leads to a stronger immune system.

Fact, though it's like having Norton anti-virus -- it's VERY GOOD, but not 100% foolproof protection

Yes.  But in relation to covid specifically as sundance keeps claiming, the conclusions have been PROVEN false.

    That is a FACT!

However, if all he is doing, certainly all I have seen him do, is say, "I'm uncomfortable with an experimental vaccination. I am taking my chances with my own immune system bolstered by both Zinc and Vitamin D, then I would say it's his prerogative and a more than adequate approach. Google it before talking shit.

AND I agree, *if* that's   **ALL** he is saying, and only as it may apply to him alone!  SUre.

But that is NOT what he is now and has been saying.

So YOU re-read before talking sht, ok?    How's that? peace_5

Vitamin D does help prevent serious, symptomatic, respiratory ailments.

Does help.  A catchall phrase we used to laugh at in University.  Why?  Because I could say virtually the same thing about water!! and many other vitamins or minerals.  So too, for that matter does YOGA or other relaxation/stress-reducing modalities "help"

It's banal at best.  Of course, literally EVERY little positive thing  "helps"  even if only to .001% degree.  Technically it still "helps"   Big effing deal.

Stated the way sundance chooses, repeatedly, leaves the uninformed to think Vitamin D is the trick to thwart covid, even among the elderly and obese (which he HAS stated before)  and it clearly has *NOT* been proven to do so.   I'll change my view when ironclad PROOF comes in front of me.

    Proof, not conjecture

I have been reading & LIVING this stuff for even longer!  Most of it concurs with much of what you said. But I will NOT downplay covid.  And I can give you over 606,000 reasons why it should NEVER have been taken lightly by anyone.

    Sundance hasn't died of covid.

His precautions seem to have kept him safe...

He has gone maskless paid in cash and could care less of social distancing seems his dissemination is he asks for polite service when being served food or drink as a paying customer

and cash presented  before the shot up on deck when gambling in golf....

Since I do not wish harm on many people (other than trump, racists, fascist, pedos, etc) it's fine by me that sundance is alive and well.  However your statement is a false inference.

Logically one cannot draw a conclusion that everything or anything sundance has done has kept him safe from dying of covid.  The odds are in his favor.  For all we know LUCK played a big part.   Some are  lucky; some aren't.

AGREED.  100%.....as long as it is *ONLY* pertaining to himself, and NOT proselytize others to HIS method that is important to HIM.  WHich is NOT the way he has been and still is portraying the use of vitamin D -- even in his posts today!

I am confident you see the difference.

Had he stated it in terms of what he does ONLY FOR HIMSELF and not the least suggesting that it would work wonders for others too, then I would *NEVER* had said a thing.

About one-third of Americans have not received a Covid-19 shot.

This as the mutated "DELTA" variant - which is more infectious and deadlier - becomes the dominant strain in the US after crushing India.
