As the Delta variant rapidly spreads, US hot spots have seen climbing case
numbers -- and an expert warns a "surprising amount of death" from
Covid-19 could soon follow.
The US is averaging about 19,455 new cases over the past seven days,
a whopping 47% increase from the week prior,
according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

Medical analyst Dr. Jonathan Reiner said a third of those come from
just five hot spots: Florida, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri and Nevada.

    "In places like Missouri where ICUs are packed, we're going to see
     a surprising amount of death," Reiner said on Sunday.

At Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, 91% of patients in the ICU
  are on ventilators   and many are in their 20s, 30s and 40s,
Chief Administrative Officer Erik Frederick said Saturday.

That is especially concerning, he said, because at the peak last year
there were only 40 to 50% of ICU patients on ventilators!

Typically, spikes in Covid-19 cases leads to a rise in death rates 3-4 weeks later

The vaccine is claimed by trump as one of his crowning achievements!  He does demand credit for it and whines repeatedly that left wing media doesn't give him enough credit.  The vaccine is trump's baby.  Not really sure why anone would rewrite that history and deny it.   trump insisted on taking full ownership of it.  In fact he bragged about  incessantly just before the election in hopes it would be available then and he could boast about it EVEN MORE!   Remember that?

If they numbers are up in 35 states, that would mean they are up in states that came near, or surpassed their vaccination goals. Just saying.

If a state achieves a goal of 60% or 70% or 80% vaccination, while continued infections still occuring daily among those 30% who are UNvaccinated, a surge among that segment from the more infectious Delta variant *PLUS* increasing close-contact socialization in crowds, INCREASES the infection rate in the state from the prior 14 day avg.  Fairly simple math.

Our country is experiencing 26,448 new virus cases each day per a Johns Hopkins University spokesman. This is the highest 7-day average since May 21st. 

We have plenty of vaccine available but very few takers.
