Devastating.  This virus may NEVER go away.

I'm no anti-vaccer but this statement above is MISINFORMATION at best.

Our CDC director stated earlier this month that "In the last 6 months 99.5% of deaths have been the unvaccinated". First red flag here is she went back a full six months, that would be January. Jan, Feb, Mar. represented a surge where 80% of the deaths in the last six months took place. Since it takes 3-4 weeks after detection to die that would mean 80% of those deaths took place when less than 15% of the population was fully vaccinated. Of course they were unvaccinated! AND NONE WERE DELTA VARIANT, so pretty much useless information.

Would be far more accurate to use last 60 days, but they won't.

The Delta variant has yet to take hold here in the states. Just getting started. Agree with Fubah, not going away anytime soon. So let's look at the UK and Israel and see what's happening with that Delta Variant.

UK; "Of the 117 people who died (from Delta), 109 were over 50. Some 44 of the 117 were unvaccinated, while 20 were waiting for a second dose. A total of 50 of the 117 or 42 per cent had received both doses. All of these deaths (of vaccinated) were in people over the age of 50."

So I'm over 50 does that mean if I receive both doses I still have a 42 percent chance of death if I get Delta and am serverly affected?

So what this article doesn't say is that 9571 cases were over age 50 and 99 deaths were over age 50, a 1.03% death rate. 42% were vaccinated.

Again, so if like UK 90% of infections are under age 50 than they should be less severe. The median age of death as reported by our CDC is like 78 years old. 

Conclusion; When the Delta takes hold in the U.S. we should expect the same results. As many as 50% of the vaccinated representing new cases, the older will still be much more vulnerable, 10 to 1. If you are over 50 and vaccinated you almost have the same chance of dying 42/58% as the unvaccinated as reported from the UK. (9,571 delta cases over 50. 99 of those died. 42% were vaccinated) 

I laughed when I read that the Oklahoma football coach said he would lean towards vaccinated players starting as they wouldn't require to be tested. Are you kidding me!!! The Delta is affecting the vaccinated. Those athletes vaccinated STILL NEED TO BE TESTED, ask the Yankees.  

As far as this being political. Michigan's democratic hotspot, Wayne County, has a 31.1% vaccination rate, the rest of Michigan is 62.2% vaccinated. 

I have the anti-bodies now. If Delta gets out of control I may opt to get vaccinated anyways.

It's too bad our current government cannot give accurate risk/reward information rather they direct social media to censor what they don't want said or else social media are murders. They claim voting ID laws are worse than civil war, white supremacy our greatest threat, South Americans welcomed with open arms, free ride anywhere, Cubans trying to escape communism unwelcomed, ETC, ETC, ETC.

I am quoting the data from US source, you are quoting the data from UK. So, which one is "MISINFORMATION at best", it depends on your source. UK has a little difference on which vaccines they administrated vs ours. U.S. did not take AZ's.

Conclusion, people need to protect themselves, their families and fellow Americans. Please, take your Covid-19 vaccination shots.

I used to race horses, harness race horses. Horses are a "pressure" animal. If a horse steps on your foot and you push the horse, the horse will push back applying more pressure on your foot. When you race a horse you apply slight pressure on the bit and the horse pushes back.

Most people are "pressure" animals. When pushed without all the information needed they PUSH BACK.

But some are blind followers, cult like, and never will be pushed or gladly accept being pushed to remain with the cult. They don't care what the information is. 

My sister had been dignosed with Lupus, an autoimmune system disorder where basically your immune system reacts too aggressively with an infection. When I get the flu/virus my knees and elbows are my first clue I'm getting sick. They burn and hurt. My doctor had me tested for Lupus and it was negative, still my symptoms are the same as my sister. Maybe if I get tested while having symptoms the results may be different.

SO, what are the risks of taking the vaccine for those with Lupus? We don't know. Lupus.org says; May 14th, 2021, " There is still a lot that we don’t know about the vaccines that are being studied and developed to prevent COVID-19.

South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming-remember WSJ pointing out Wyoming, all have low vax numbers, doing fine.

Massachusettes is over 60% fully vaxed yet COVID has quadruppled in last few weeks. You can spin the numbers anyway you want.

MY POINT IS THIS;

STOP trying to bullshit people that there are not some risks involved. BE TRANSPARENT. Don't quote crap like last 6 months 99.5% were unvaxed when you know your using it to bolster. 

ACKNOWLEDGE that those with immunity due to previous exposer should be as safe as those vaccinated. NEVER WILL THEY DO THAT. WHY?

Europa is right.  Vaccine benefits far outweigh risks.  Coronavirus is far more dangerous than vaccines.  In the US, over 300 million vaccine doses have been administered.  As of June, under 5700 unverified reports of serious side effects from all vaccines have been received by VAERS of Center for disease control.  After investigations, doctors found only 3 potential deaths because of blood clots.  In comparison, over 600,000 covid deaths and millions of hospitalizations. 

Health feedback fact check confirms accuracy of claim that 99% of covid deaths and hospitalizations are among unvaccinated people.  Similar data found in US and other countries.  Israel, Public health England, US center for disease control, National institute of infectious diseases and New England journal of medicine.  Associated press examined CDC data for May 2021 and reached similar conclusion.  Fully vaccinated seniors are far less likely to die or be hospitalized from covid infection than unvaccinated seniors.

True, vaccine hesitancy has become ingrained in political divide but that doesn't negate the fact that we are dealing with a new class of vaccines, and people have a right to be hesitant of things that haven't been tested out to their potential down-the-line side effects. The use of mRNA is both exciting and groundbreaking. I was nerding out on therapeutic use of mRNA and crispr starting in 2018, and continuing through 2019. I never imagined the first widespread practical use would be a vaccine for a global pandemic. mRNA and crispr are both the future of medicine. Imagine treating cancer by simply telling the body not to produce cancer cells or by simply editing the present cancer causing genes. Or treating something inconsequential like baldness by simply telling the body to grow hair, or editing the genes responsible for baldness. It all sounds very sci-fi but it is very much out current reality. It's exciting stuff but make no mistake about it, we're taking something that was mostly theoretical and thrust it into a very sweeping widespread use without knowing anything of the potential risk. And something that has been equally ingrained in politics is this narrative of, "Just take it. It'll be fine. No risks." No one is in a position to make such claims. We are very much the space monkees on a bold, experimental, scientific journey of which we have no idea of the destination. This stuff isn't going anywhere so I view it as my civic duty to test it, for the greater good of society in ways that reach so much further than covid. However, I won't denigrate someone for simply saying, "It's not for me right now." This stuff is so new that there really isn't a right answer. And people like third, who means well, can't back up the claims of "no risk" he so cavalierly throws around. Likewise, it can't be said that low vaccination rates are simply because of Trump supporters. Maybe you haven't received the jab but they don't ask your political affiliation. There is simply no way to back claims like this. I can personally attest to vaccine hesitancy, and distrust of anything involving the government, in the black community. This would also help contribute to low vaccination numbers in red states, specifically in the south.

I'm not playing devil's advocate here. Obviously with the politicizing of this virus and vaccine, there are people who do not fit the mode of the traditional anti-vaxxer who are now vehemently opposed to them but make no mistake, the hesitancy is much more nuanced than that. I would look at vaccine rates compared against tax brackets. I would look at hesitancy amongst minority groups. Among 5 of us siblings, 3 are vaccinated, 2 aren't. None are without means. My sister is anti-vaxx. Her son, my nephew, a young college athlete, now has covid, possibly for the second time as he contracted a mystery virus in fall of 2019 that had all earmarks of a textbook case. Her daughter had it. Our sister had it. She is still hesitant. She's as liberal as they come. We disagree but respect her decision.

There are so many factors to to vaccine hesitancy. Obviously Trump politics is one of the biggest but simply playing this virus, and this vaccine, as a political pawn has been a mistake by both sides. Start looking at rates in predominantly black and latino communities. Start looking at rates is financially depressed communities. Live and let live. Science will prevail.

Thanks folks, global pandemic should be a grave human health issue but not silly ideological skew. Here is the thing, vaccines have saved million and million of human lives. Dr. Fauci is right that if anti-vax was prevailed decades ago we would still have gruesome smallpox, polio etc. epidemic nowadays.   

According to Lupus foundation, no evidence that taking vaccines would result in inflammatory response.   American college of rheumatology recommends covid vaccines.  Even for people previously infected because of extra protection.  Longer immunity and increase in anti-bodies. 

Of course, people who are allergic should ask their own doctor to assess risk of vaccination.  Typically at vaccine clinics, people are asked first if they are allergic or have some underlying medical condition.  But for vast majority of people, no reason to think vaccines are unsafe.  Serious side effects are very rare.

Political polarization weakens US response to pandemic.  Conspiracy theories about vaccines and stolen election have deadly consequences.  People have died because they haven't gotten a vaccine.  People have died because of capital riot. 

Sadly in age of information technology, misinformation spreads wide quickly while truth slowly emerges over time.  Key difference is that Canada isn't as divided as the US because partisan media sources are limited.  Fox news is less widely available.  Now Canada has higher vaccination rates and declining covid cases while US goes in opposite direction. 

Sadly people have died  because they allowed themselves to be injected with the poison propagated by Big Pharma, Gates and the wee little man named Fauci!
