Vaccines produce immunity protection against disease. So clearly, Food drug administration and European medicine agency are correct in classifying them as vaccines. Their effectiveness have been proven in large clinical trials and billions of doses administered worldwide. Vast majority of doctors are vaccinated and they recommend covid vaccines. Anti-vaxers have failed to prove covid vaccines don't work in their promotion of misinformation.

The fully vaxed and unelected governor of NY, Kathy Hochul tests positive for covid!
And now Dr. Bill Gates - fully vaxxed and boosted has tested positive for Covid. But not to worry. He's written a new book. "How To Prevent The Next Pandemic." Of course the pathological liar previously claimed vaccines would stop transmission. So, tell me again why is this schmuck/psychopath in charge of global health policy?
Relax. I'm unvaxxed!

He is correct about this -- the issue is we never had a vaccine.

There was a critique on his book by someone explaining how his view on this is clouded by the way he got his success through the capitalist economy that was available to him. Now part of his resolution is that things can be solved through philanthropy. The guy (I think) was pointing out how there were very different numbers for deaths of working-class folks and for college-educated folks, etc. For example, way higher rates of Hispanic working-class men were dying than white college-educated women, etc. This seemed evident at the beginning of the pandemic that the economic system was going to have various affects. For example, one early contention was that the 'essential' were going to be affected differently than the 'non-essential' -- obviously, more working-class are deemed 'essential'. The conclusion being drawn was that we are in an economic system where there is inequality and that this is also global and would not have the same affect in the Northern part of the world as the Southern part of the world. This was from earlier in the pandemic and I have not followed up on the writing. But I am sure a lot of it holds. I have this saved from an earlier discussion in French. I think you can get the gist of it without interpretation. But if anyone wants they can find it online or I can grab it in English later:
The guy critiquing the book used this, in part, to show that expecting any solution from the 1% will always be from their perspective of the success they have 'enjoyed' due the economic system in place. He also points out that because of his background and success in technology he really believes in the private-sector to help here. The book apparently does talk about how inequality during a pandemic can make it worse for the 'poorer' but does not talk about why this is or how it can be resolved. There is an issue with thinking philanthropy is the answer when it is derived from an economic system that is in place already. The contention here is the age-old issue of just making the philanthropist feel good but not fixing the issue of how they got their money and the fact that it can be a self-perpetuating cycle, of sorts. The contention from the writer was along the lines of the rich thinking that throwing money at problems the government has not 'solved' does not address the issue that the system itself has created or exacerbated the problems to start with.
I am not saying that I agree with the viewpoints -- I am just saying it was interesting to read. To me, it is well and good that Gates wants to do charitable work with his money. But for folks to think he is some authority and correct in any way at the 'solutions' he has is very wrong to do. He should be able to help and he should be able to want to warn people of future danger and ways to prepare. He is just not the one to make the decisions on what and how to do this. I could very easily make the case he was part of the reason that made the pandemic worse and longer than it should have been from a health perspective and from an economic viewpoint.

People of all ages have been affected by the pandemic. Although majority of covid deaths occur among those over 65 years of age, this statistic obscures the serious threat to younger Americans who tend to die at lower rates. For ages 15 to 24, covid is 4th leading cause of death. For ages 25 to 44, covid is 2nd leading cause of death. For ages 45 to 54, covid is the number one cause of death. Overall, covid is the 3rd leading cause of death. In 2020 to 2021, common error of countries have been to downplay seriousness of the pandemic. Now World health organization estimates total number of deaths may be 15 million instead of 6 million worldwide.

To date, older adolescents and young adults (15 to 24 years) represent 14.2% (16 602 124) of global cases and 0.4% (7720) of global deaths. Nonetheless, the global COVID-19 pandemic has the potential to undermine the health and well-being of adolescents and young adults. While the pandemic’s long-term impact on youth mental health is not yet understood, evidence from past emergencies suggests potential elevated risks of anxiety and depression, trauma, self-harm, and even suicide among adolescents (3). School closures have also impacted adolescent and young adult well-being through loss of instruction time, social isolation, physical inactivity with compounded risks of food insecurity and domestic violence .
There were a few who recognized this problem and refused to "play along" with flawed guidelines that ignored the mental health of an age group not severely impacted by the pandemic, rather severely impacted by flawed guidelines to the pandemic. Although continually chastised and accused of "downplaying" the pandemic by many history will show these few chose the right path for their young citizens.

Approximately 1.3 million adolescents and young adults (aged 15 to 24 years) died in 2020, resulting in a probability of dying in this age group of 11 deaths per 1000 adolescents in 2020.
And then; "To date, older adolescents and young adults (15 to 24 years) represent 14.2% (16 602 124) of global cases and 0.4% (7720) of global death"
Hard to believe Covid is 4th leading cause for this group unless you lump other major causes into one to fit a narrative.
It shows only 1017 deaths for ages 0-17 for the United States. I remember in late 2020 an article saying most if not all young adult deaths were those who already suffered from life threatening disease such as leukemia.

mRNA COVID-19 vaccines aren’t vaccines in the medical and legal definition of a vaccine? They do not prevent you from getting the infection, nor do they prevent its spread. They’re really experimental gene therapies. In other words, they are not designed to keep you from getting sick with SARS-CoV-2; they only are supposed to lessen your infection symptoms if or when you do get infected as noted by David Martin, Ph.D.,
Discredited David Martin is a financial analyst and self help entrepreneur who promotes conspiracy theories . No evidence he has any qualification in vaccine expertise. His video has been removed by facebook and youtube because of misinformation that endangers public health.
mRNA vaccines fit the definition for vaccines according to US center for disease control and Food drug administration. They aren't classified as gene therapy. mRNA vaccines lack enzymes necessary to penetrate cell wall to reach nucleus where DNA resides. Moreover, they are designed to degrade quickly inside human bodies. So mRNA vaccines cannot alter DNA according to fact checks by Reuters, politifact and Annenberg.

I think you are confused about his role. They are quoting him on his expertise on the patent and legal aspects of it, not his 'vaccine expertise'.
He was not the one that defined a vaccine -- he was being asked about it. This is more or less the part of the statement that they are asking him about. Not only that, but he is not the only one that has been using the definition.
"According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a vaccine is “a product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease, protecting the person from that disease.” Immunity, in turn, is defined as “Protection from an infectious disease,” meaning that “If you are immune to a disease, you can be exposed to it without becoming infected.”
Neither Moderna nor Pfizer claim this to be the case for their COVID-19 “vaccines.” In fact, in their clinical trials, they specify that they will not even test for immunity.
Unlike real vaccines, which use an antigen of the disease you’re trying to prevent, the COVID-19 injections contain synthetic RNA fragments encapsulated in a nanolipid carrier compound, the sole purpose of which is to lessen clinical symptoms associated with the S-1 spike protein, not the actual virus.
They do not actually impart immunity or inhibit transmissibility of the disease. In other words, they are not designed to keep you from getting sick with SARS-CoV-2; they only are supposed to lessen your infection symptoms if or when you do get infected."
Maybe this is the part you should be concerned with and not necessarily the legal part of it.

Over one million covid deaths have been confirmed in the US. This is nearly equal to death tolls of civil war and world war II combined. But at least 300,000 deaths could have been prevented by more vaccination between January to April 2021 according to joint study by Brigham hospital, Harvard, Brown school of public health and Microsoft AI for health. If US had the same covid death rate as Australia, 900,000 lives could have been saved. Key US difference is lack of trust in science and institutions. Trust encourages people to change their behavior for the common good. In the pandemic, Australia economy has also grown faster than the US. Lancet study of 177 countries found trust matters more than health spending and form of government.

Key difference was trust in our current leader. Tomorrow he will spew hate towards his rival political party and create even more division in our country. Takes advantage of a lunatic who claimed to be Left leaning and uses a horrific event to further political ambitions. Kinda explains why he never visited the Wisconsin killings, nothing to gain politically.

Key difference was Donald trump formenting distrust during his term. Once accomplished it continued to spread among his followers through 2021 even moreso because they also increased their hatred of the media bringing them health messages, as a result of 4 years of listening to Trump. Lethal combination of bigotry.

Yes, Trump fomented distrust. And he pandered to a base, which all politicians do, but did he ever accuse his opponents' constituents of being anything equal to white supremacists, extremist, or any of the rhetoric Biden has spewed in the last year of his term? If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. We can keep pointing fingers and playing right into the hands of the media, who seek to profit from out anger and division, and the politicians, on both sides, who seek to divide as a means of distraction.
TIME TO BRING BACK THE OBAMA CAGES!

There is a reason countries like Canada, France, UK, Australia, and Germany to name a few have booster rates well over 50% while the United States sits at 30.1%.
Nothing to do with Trump, he said get the vaccine.
It is a lack of trust.

Trump didn't get the vaccine until after the Covid nearly killed him. He changed his tune when he discovered it wasn't a "hoax" after all...
Your quite the liar. Like your peaceful Kenosha protest comment. 40 buildings destroyed, 100 damaged, $50 million in damages.
There was NO vaccine when Trump tested positive, and I'm sure you wished his was deathly sick but he wasn't. He told everybody the treatment he received, unlike those like Pelosi and Harris. Betcha they took the kitchen sink of meds even tough they were 4- times vaxed. We'll never know.
He then got vaccinated in January. If he was first in line folks like you would have jumped on him, so he didn't and besides natural immunity was there.
And he's still kicking today!

Not so fast sugar tits. I never said there was a vaccine when he got the covid. But thanks for playing.
