Why are you people talking about herd immunity?
Why are you people incapable of providing examples of what you believe Trump should have done?
only thing effective we can donow to save our country is vote out rump in november otherwise we r really in it deep and for yrs to come

It very well could be be a scam. After 48,299 covid cases at 19 US universities. Only 2 hospitalizations and zero deaths. More likely to be killed by a dog!

Herd immunity is the only path but only after we have a viable vaccine and treatment plan. Truth be told, I think we have treatments that are viable enough but for herd immunity to work we need a vaccine. And we need enough people, especially our boomers, to actually take it.

I swear, you guys go back and forth and your arguments are based on nothing but political faction. As one of the few non-partisaned, though conservative leaning, people on this site, here is my too cents.
President Trump continues to downplay the virus. And that is a grave mistake but it is really the only bad thing he has done. And I feel it's effects have been negligible. Trump supporters may complain about wearing masks, complain about businesses being closed, but it's not like they've been able to avoid it. Most still wear masks because in most places you have to. And far as not maintaining social distances, both sides have well documented instances of doing this. His highly touted travel ban wasn't really a ban but it undoubtedly made a difference. I think the numbers he throws out are completely arbitrary but lives were definitely saved. I would say enough to counteract what was lost because of people not initially wearing masks. And I think he would have never even downplayed the severity if democrats hadn't tried to use the virus as a political football from the very beginning, laying all the blame on Trump before we had even tallied 500 deaths. I'm not defending his actions. I'm just saying I know how he acts and laying blame on him when we had barely scratched the surface, being the first party to politicize this virus, was very counterproductive. As far as ventilators, we were in fear of a shortage, but it never came to fruition. We have, at times, been short on PPE. Unemployment has been good for some, bad for others, but that is on state governments and congress. We don't have a concise treatment regimen yet, but we should have a vaccine sometime around the 1 year anniversary of the first reported case, which is pretty good. Much of the development of treatments and vaccines rests on the private sector but this administration has been supportive every step of the way. I really don't see where any other President would have done any better. Maybe they save a few more lives by not downplaying masks and social distancing but they lose a few more by not issuing a travel ban as soon as Trump's. I think our numbers sit right around where they are no matter who was President.

No evidence of fraudulent reporting by hospitals to inflate number of covid deaths according to factchecking by snopes, politifact and factcheck.org. Actually, covid deaths are undercounted according to doctor Fauci, John Hopkins university, Center for disease control, National institute of health, Yale school of public health and World health organization.

Stu. I also think the numbers would not change much at all regardless of the sitting President. People act like this was not global news and in the headlines every minute of every day in January, February prior to the blow up in early March. Anyone that was acting recklessly then, did so with full knowledge of what was going on in the world.

I was in California at the time and I was in both the gym AND the bar up until the minute they closed. The gym closed and I was like, "Man, I better get to the bars before they're closed too."

Read this article and then tell me the numbers being reported in the US aren’t being inflated. This is a few cases in a small area. But this happened all across the country.

81 year old Fred Creasy was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer at the end of June. Doctors gave him 30 days to live. He died at the end of July while in hospice.
His daughter said he allegedly tested positive for Covid after the diagnosis. “He had no symptoms. He wasn’t even quarantined.”
A few days after his death they reported Creasy’s death as the ninth Covid-19 death in Lincoln County.
“I mean, that’s not what he died from. He died from colon cancer.” — Daughter
Other families are asking questions including the family of a 26 year old man who was listed as a Covid-19 death but tested negative for the virus.
KGW8 asked the OHA spokesperson a hypothetical case where someone died from a motorcycle crash and also had Covid-19. Would that be counted as a Covid-19 death?
“It would be”, — OHA spokesperson

Look at the number of flu deaths over the last 5 years. They use wide ranges and estimates.
18/19 — 26,000 to 52,000
17/18 — 46,000 to 95,000
16/17 — 29,000 to 61,000
15/16 — 17,000 to 35,000
14/15 — 44,000 to 65,000
But when it comes to Corona deaths, we have an exact figure. 205,503 as of today. Why is this?
If flu deaths were counted the same way corona deaths are, the number of flu deaths per year would be significantly higher. And on top of that if hospitals were incentivized for flu patients, the number of flu patients would rise significantly.

"South Dakota has just set new records in the number of people hospitalized, new cases, and overall active cases.
With a 36% spike in COVID-19 hospitalizations in the last week, the state now has the highest per-capita rate of hospitalizations in the US."
Sturgis....why does that ring a bell? Hmmmm
Ignorance kills.

Here’s Noem’s response to Maddow:
“Stop spreading fear.
Only 8% of South Dakota’s hospital beds are occupied by COVID patients. We have and will continue to manage our resources to care for the people who need help.
The people of South Dakota have accomplished this WITHOUT draconian lockdowns. #FactsNotFear”

Another smart women who rents space in your head.
The Governor you quote will be known for refusing the advice to wear masks and nothing more.

The 4 worst performing states are all blue states. I think you should focus on that.
And Rachel Maddow is only one woman, not a group of women.

The following are new survival rates for covid from the CDC. Truly hard to believe that you can/will be put in an orange jump suit for going to church but you are allowed and enabled to destroy Portland. 1 last note. A person really has a better chance of being struck by lightning on a sunny day than succumbing to covid. Here we go.
0-19 99.997%
20-49 99.98%
50-69 99.5%
70 and over 94.6%

really ?
average lightning fatalities per year is about 49 or 50
https://www.weather.gov/safety/lightning-victims
in just 6 months 203,500 were killed by coronavirus
covid is killing at a rate of about 8,000 to 1 compared to lightning

Agree. And comparing deaths by lighting is irrelevant to Covid-19. US population accounts around 4% of the world, yet the death tolls are over 20% of the world. Mr. Donald J Trump's handling of the Covid-19 is a failure.

Explain what you think Trump should have done (you can’t)

Actually Texas is 3rd & Florida is 5th.
But of course everyone understands the larger the population, the larger the deaths experienced, right?
