I see a pattern here . . .

Fubah2 is right.  In 2020, 8 of 10 top states are democrat and 8 of 10 bottom states are republicans.  But in the future, vaccination rate is more important than deaths or any other factor in safely reopening economy according to survey of over 700 epidemiologists by Society for epidemiological research.  Afterall, vaccination is the key to ending pandemic.  So far, democrat states tend to have higher vaccination rates than republican states.

just went to a Walmart & Food Lion and saw 5-6 people not wearing a mask. Delaware governor Carney ended the mask mandate Friday and I was a bit surprised there were not more without a mask.

Yes we are now experiencing a bit more cases the vaccine has worked in bringing down deaths and hospitilizations. 

Regardless of how you spin it ... maine has weathered the pandemic better than most of the nation.  Hence property values here in sales have risen 50 percent in areas in less than a year.

Research firm Alalere estimates that US spends over $30 billion on covid hospitalization since the pandemic began.  Average cost of each hospital visit is $23,489.  This is another reason to get a free vaccine to protect one self and others.  A ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Certainly the reluctance of the residents inside those states to cooperate with covid mitigation measures makes things worse once the virus was present and spreading. However the covid disaster is not particularly a failure by any given state government or its citizens, red or blue.  The responsibility to protect ALL the citizens of USA,  in every single state, during a worldwide contagion pandemic, lies completely at the feet of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

Had trump and his accomplices done his job properly and effectively to begin with, the overwhelming proportion of this pandemic disaster ANYWHERE inside our borders NEVER would have occured in the first place!

On the positive side, incentives from businesses and governments are encouraging more people to get vaccines.    Ohio has "vax-a'million" with similar lotteries in California, Colorado, Maryland and Oregon.  Cash payments attract lineups of people.  Uber offers free rides.  Other businesses offer free drinks, grocery discounts, free food, tickets to special events, etc. Higher vaccination rates lead to lifting of public health restrictions.  But 80% vaccination of population is needed to reach herd immunity.  The sooner more people are vaccinated, the earlier pandemic ends so life can return to normal.

Denver County Sheriff's Deputy who downplayed covid-19 while also refusing and mocking the vaccine has died of covid-19. He was 33. I'm not advocating for vaccination, per se. I'm not necessarily even advocating for wearing a mask everywhere you go. All i'm saying is protect yourselves. Whatever that means to each individual. Viruses are real. They want to procreate. They want to thrive just like a plant or an animal. And they will actively seek out hosts where ever they can find an opening. I've been making posts about asians (the chinese, specifically) wearing masks for years. Not in some theoretical sense. I'm talking taking BART into San Francisco every day. There would be times when I would drive in even though I was too tired to be doing so because we would be in the middle of an important project for fear of them getting me sick at an inopportune time. They wore masks because they've always known the dangers or respiratory viruses. And it was always my theory that they were aware of the fragility of their own immune systems. People blame Bill Gates for the virus simply because he gave a Ted about the dangers of airborne viruses but the fact they're ignoring is that experts have been reporting on this eminent threat for years. It's not like he was some clairvoyant. You can watch videos from late 2019-early 2020 of Chinese officials welding people's doors shut, presumably to prevent them from going out and spreading covid19. You see, even while they lied to us, they knew how real this thing was. I knew it was real when in March or so, when a cruise ship that had been docked and quarantined in Oakland was finally allowed to off board, and the news (this was a local story at the time) said, "The Canadiens are off boarding first. There government has sent a plane to retrieve them." The wording felt eerie to me. I looked at some friends and said, "This thing is more dangerous than they're letting on."

I wasn't an advocate for shutdowns. I'm not for mass hysteria but covid-19 is real. It is not, nor has it ever been, simply the flu. This class of corona viruses attacks the lungs in ways influenza simply does not. And our bodies simply don't have the built up defense that we have to Influenza and Rhino viruses, simply due to lack of exposure. Again, i'm not taking a stance with this post. All i'm saying is protect yourselves.
