Fact checker politifact debunks DeSantis claim that covid surges are driven by illegal immigration to the US.  First, lack of evidence supports his claim. US-Mexico border isn't wide open.  Border officials record over 800,000 encounters with migrants from February to June.  Most migrants are expelled under public health law.  Secondly, land border area has lower case rates.  Pattern of distribution in covid cases don't match movement of migrants. 

Fourth, most covid hotspots are located near water or far away from southern border.  Examples include Missouri, Arkansas and Kentucky.  Fifth, current covid surge is far more likely to be driven by millions of unvaccinated Americans.  Case rates are higher in states with lower vaccination.  According to Vanderbilt university, immigration contribution is akin to pouring bucket of water into a swimming pool because of extensive virus spread already in the US.

A federal judge rules in favor of Norwegian cruise line requiring proof of vaccination from passengers.  Florida fails to give a valid reason for ban on vaccine passport and ban could negatively impact public health.  Every other port of call allows vaccine passport for crew and passengers except Florida.

Biden's OSHA vax mandate for private sector employees has always been unconstitutional. Now, it's unenforceable: Supreme Court just blocked it.

It’s going to come down to DeSantis vs Trump. If Trump is healthy, I think he wants to run. Trump’s people have put out trial attacks on DeSantis and so far they have failed miserably. 

DeSantis is the most populace and prominent Republican governor, by far, and conservatives are flocking to Florida. Trump himself moved there. 

Trump is only scared of competition when he senses that the opposition might be on his level (DeSantis). He wasn’t afraid of the 2016 field because they were a bunch of establishment politicians that he knew he could beat. DeSantis = more competent less baggage Trump.

DeSantis would, I believe do to the country what he did to Florida, namely ruthlessly executing a conservative agenda with laser focus and competence while growing the Party. DeSantis = freedom in the minds of many outside Florida. As for Trump, he is still tainted by the lockdowns. DeSantis held up when Trump wilted.

At this moment I am Team DeSantis! I hope Trump doesn’t run, backs DeSantis and gets a cabinet position.

Cabinet position????? Any cabinet designed by DeSantis will fall apart easily. Probably even faster than Trump's.

Glenn Youngkin just released new VA guidance on covid testing:

"The Gov will discourage mass testing for the purposes of pre-screening, discourage asymptomatic individuals from testing, and urge healthy individuals with mild symptoms to stay home and use discretion on testing"

 If that is the case, don't you think it would be appropriate to check with other states to see if kits were needed? 

We have a history of helping each other after hurricanes, tornadoes floods, fires etc. This is about helping each other in this all about me world we live in now.

The thing about DeSantis in this case, is that he hid the fact until his opponent brought the facts to light. He's a sneaky little shit.

Prediction; As soon as this Omicron wave drops to...say, levels below 50-70 thousand cases a day, the Biden admin will declare no more mandates needed.
