Went from independent to dependent.... we controlled our prices now we are at their mercy..
How did we go from independent to dependent?

Why do I think prices are up?
Biden shut down oil and gas lease sales from our nation's vast public lands and waters in his first days in office.
The actions will obviously be a boon for crude prices by restraining supply.
These stupid fucks think this will improve climate change. All it will do is lower our greenhouse gas emissions as a country BUT increase the emissions in the world AND also fleece Americans by making them pay a higher price.
It’s called ‘junking the stats’. They will then point to the stats as if they’ve solved something. Fukking morons will lap it up.

We imported over 6 million barrels a day from OPEC and that number was dumping. I believe it got as low as 500,000 barrels a day from OPEC. I’m sure this number is rising since Biden took office.
Our demand for oil is only going to grow. So now we’ll once again be more dependent on foreign powers —> Saudis, Russia, Iran, Venezuela etc. War and corruption ... the same old story.
Not to mention the companies they’re shutting down pay a massive amount of taxes. Nobody cares about that revenue lost, I guess they’ll just keep printing money as inflation skyrockets under this idiot.

He ceased issuing new permits. He didn't do anything to affect current operations. Our production hasn't plummeted. We're still drilling. We're still fracking. There's no direct correlation that one can draw between any action by Biden and current oil prices. The oil industry is extremely volatile and making sense of what drives prices can be impossible but i'll tell you one thing, when you follow the money, from quarters and years when gas prices have been highest, you tend to find record profits. The limited supply is a crock. The oil industry controls supply to manipulate prices. And everyone involved, South America, Opec, Canada, the US, etc, is complicit. Sometimes when prices are low, and oil power will just stop producing to inflate prices. All of this shit is pretty well documented.

What companies were shut down? I'm sure? You're throwing a "probably" out there?

How about the companies that make billions yet pay zero taxes?
Why is inflation rising?
And (just for shits & giggles) try answering either of those without placing blame on the administration that took over on 1/20/21

@BWS77
Do companies that make billions create the labor force? Does that labor force pay taxes? Is the fed printing money at ridiculous rates to try to keep the economy afloat? How much can the fed print before the value of the dollar decreases? If you're in commodities and the fed is printing money, giving "free" money to the public and loaning money out at ridiculous low rates (trying to create more public debt which is an absolute disaster in the long run), are you going to lower or raise prices? Are people going back to work to sustain paying those raised prices? Those that are going back to work, are they getting raises that will justify the rising goods and services pricing?

OPEC imports have remained low. We're still getting the majority of our imports from Canada via the Keystone pipeline system. There have been no major changes to our production capability nor how much, and from whom, we are importing.

“The suspension did not affect activity on private land, which makes up most US oil and gas output. Instead, it applied specifically to federally held lands and waters, which account for about 22 per cent of American oil production.”

IMO be careful with crypto. Still over leveraged by big finance. I don't think the rug has been fully pulled, even after the last few months. IMO I think there is still more to be pulled. I hope I'm wrong but I was not in shock in May when crypto took a massive hit to help create liquidity for big finance. They created a huge bull run by over leveraging and I think they are trying to pump it back but it won't break out. Tread lightly IMO and obviously not FA

When is the last time you haven't paid a fuck ton for gas in summer? Don't say 2020, when nobody was driving. What were you paying in 2019? 2018? 2017?

It’s amazing that Democrats get away with high taxes on things like gas.
It’s obviously a disproportionate hit on poor people. If Republicans did something similar the tax would be called racist.

So misinformed on another topic. Big shock. We get little oil from Saudi's or Russia. Iran and and Venezuela, are not even in the top 5 list in terms of import countries for oil. Where do you come up with this $hit?
America gets damn near 50% of all oil imports from Canada, 7% From Mexico. (Saudi and Russia tied for 3rd at 6%).
OPEC countries only account for 18% of all oil imports. You think this is going to change and skyrocket under Biden? Give me a break man.
Stop just making BS up to try and talk smack about Biden. At least know what you talking about. Par for the course for you.

Easy enough to see when gas was this expensive in the summer or anytime. Basically, this is the highest it has been in 7 years — since 2014.
The concerning part is how quickly it got to this point from the low last year.
The other question is how long does this ‘normal’ summer peak last. Sometimes it lasts longer than other summers.
The other issue is whether it goes back down after the summer to a higher point than it usually does — it looks as if it will.

Thats rich coming from you.
You clearly cannot decipher the unwarranted criticisms coming from Detox Meds, which is why he is being called out by numerous posters in the thread regarding his BS argument. You and Tox are one in the same, so of course you agree with anything he says.
What is Steven Crowder talking about today?

Nothing Biden is currently doing is driving gas prices up, or will lead to a massive upswing in oil imports from OPEC countries, who we don't rely on for most of our oil imports to begin with, or any other conflict rich regions. His claims are complete BS. The fact you believe his nonsense says a lot about you.

The US exported much more oil under Trump than any other President in history.
This will reverse under Biden.
The US imported far less oil under Trump than they did under establishment presidents Obama and Bush.
This trend will also reverse under Biden.

You love putting words (texts) in peoples mouths that was never mentioned. You're the one making shit up. His claims (in your words) are his thesis in the post you quoted. Again, you lack reading and comprehensive skills on an epic level. Go back, and read #78 again then read his next post, then read yours. YOU ARE PUTTING WORDS IN PEOPLES MOUTHS SO YOU CAN BASH THEM. His thesis on why gas prices are rising is an idea (based on a previous post was asked), not facts. But then again, you retards can not seem to figure those differences. Hell, you can't even come up with your own original ideas, like Fubduh and Kelly, you can only regurgitate what you read online and claim as fact because "if it's online, it's the truth". Come up with your own ideas and present your own thesis so others can discuss. That's the whole idea of an open forum.

"Why do I think prices are up?"
Because global demand. See your traitor pushed forward that America can sell oil and petroleum abroad. Hence gas oil propane natural gas products are going to international clients.
Opec cut production drastically due to covid to keep oil at the 50 a barrel threshold. Now with the summer grade a more costly less efficient product so the o3 doesn't smog California oil has came up. Opec is supposed to raise production , by 500 million barrels a day. The pipeline shut down from the cell in northern California where they found the bitcoin purse drive the crisis.
Now big oil has raised gas to 3.00 and is pushing for 4 by labor day. Gas prices are not depended on new leases. We actually pay firms to drill oil and sell it abroad. The richest tracks are in a 0 money lease arrangements and without having to pay for the tracts oil doesn't have to drill any where. They actually now have to be paid to drill on free land grants.... it's time that America look beyond petroleum and push for green energy projects.
The cost of doing buisness with oil has become too expensive and needs to end .

I think we should stop producing oil. Then we can be fully dependent on foreign countries. I don’t think they will use that power as leverage against us (the strongest country in the world). Canada, Russia, Saudis, Iran, Iraq, Venezuela etc are all very nice people and they will look out for us.
We can then point to our low emissions as a country and John Kerry can sit in a throne made of leaves at the next G8 summit. Who cares if that means the emissions for the world sore? Theyll have to deal with climate change and our climate issues will be solved.
I also think everyone should own a Tesla. They’re pretty cheap. Everyone has a garage to charge it in. And even a poor person can afford the $850 monthly payment because of all the money you’ll save on gas.
