MEANWHILE, Russia and China have agreed on a new deal that will see Russia supply 100 million tons of coal in the "coming years" to its southern neighbor.
Sergey Mochalnikov, the head of the Russian Energy Ministry, announced the deal on Friday. The new deal will add to an already lucrative deal Russia signed with India in Nov. 2021 to supply 40 million tons of coal.
"Now, an intergovernmental agreement with the People’s Republic of China is being developed and the figure is 100 million tons," he said. "In the coming years, consumers should receive as much coal as they need."

New UN panel's grim climate change report: 'Parts of the planet will become uninhabitable'
Feb 28, USA TODAY -
"Urgent action is needed to curb rising temperatures and limit the effects climate change is already having on physical and mental health and well-being, the panel concluded. Some of the anticipated consequences won't be prevented, but the authors emphasized swift and significant action could help stave off the worst ones."
"Increased heat waves, droughts and floods are already exceeding plants’ and animals’ tolerance thresholds, driving mass mortalities in species such as trees and corals, according to the report."

Americans at risk from climate change
"Even if global warming is limited to the goal of 1.5 degrees Celsius, human life, safety and livelihoods across North America will be placed at risk from sea level rise, severe storms and hurricanes, especially in coastal areas, the report said.
The increasingly intense storms “combined with sea-level rise will result in losses and damages, despite our best efforts to adapt,” Thomas said."

Without limiting warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius, the risks to North Americans are expected to intensify rapidly, Harper said. It would result in "irreversible changes to ecosystems, mounting damage to infrastructure and housing, and really stress economic sectors and disrupt livelihoods, mental health, physical health and safety."
Delays in climate action wrought by misinformation about climate change science have made the need to act even more urgent, Harper said. "That's led to increasing uncertainty and slowed the recognition of the risks."

NOAA released an updated report about sea level rise in the U.S. They found the sea level could rise up to a foot along the U.S. coast in the next 30 years. They said that over 20 years ago and nothing happened.
Climate change deniers are looking at the wrong places instead of the big picture. According to NASA and NOAA, satellite measurements and tide stations confirm sea level has been rising in the long term. But sea level rise isn't uniform worldwide. Different locations have different measurements more or less than the global average. In the US, coastal erosion causes real property losses of about half a billion dollars each year in the form of damaged structures and lost land.

Climate change is on course to transform life on Earth as we know it, and unless global warming is dramatically slowed, billions of people and other species will reach points where they can no longer adapt to the new normal, according to a major UN report published Monday.
The UN-backed report, based on years of research from *HUNDREDS* of scientists, found that the impacts from human-caused climate change were larger than previously thought.
The report's authors say these impacts are happening much faster and are more disruptive and widespread than scientists expected 20 years ago.

Around half of the world's population experiences severe water scarcity each year in part due to climate-related factors, the report showed.
Fresh water will become even more scarce at higher global temperatures.
At 2 degrees of warming — which scientists predict the planet will reach by midcentury — as many as 3 billion people around the world will experience "chronic water scarcity," according to the report. It increases to four billion people at 4 degrees. Water shortages will put enormous pressure on food production and increase the world's already dire food-security challenges.
**This of course, pushes up INFLATION!

Damn, the left will find any excuse except for the actual reason for inflation. Tell us about the fed printing money because democrats forced everyone to stay home because the gov't would just pay them to not work, or the banking system. Tell us about consumer debts hitting all time highs. Wait. That can't possibly be it. Inflation gotta be because of the temperature. The scary part is, people believe this crap blindly.
Scientists said 20 years ago that global warming would put all the houses on the coasts under water (fear mongering at the extreme). HASN'T HAPPENED IN OVER 20 YEARS AND NOT EVEN CLOSE TO HAPPENING IN THE NEXT 20 YEARS.
Never doubt fubduh and his/her (gotta be PC here) attempt to brainwash. Last I checked, nobody is short on produce.
Straight from the USDA site-
Q: Will there be food shortages?
A: There are currently no nationwide shortages of food, although in some cases the inventory of certain foods at your grocery store might be temporarily low before stores can restock. Food production and manufacturing are widely dispersed throughout the U.S. and there are currently no wide-spread disruptions reported in the supply chain.
USDA and the Food and Drug Administration are closely monitoring the food supply chain for any shortages in collaboration with industry and our federal and state partners. We are in regular contact with food manufacturers and grocery stores.

Here's a quick internet search......How much hotter Has the Earth gotten since 2000?
Yearly surface temperatures since 1880 compared to the twentieth-century (1901-2000) average (dashed line at zero). Since 2000, temperatures have been warmer than average, but they did not increase significantly. Data courtesy of NOAA's National Climatic Data Center.
Not to mention technology has gotten significantly better since the twentieth century.
Here's another....
How much has Earth has warmed by over the last 100 years?
Over the last century, the average surface temperature of the Earth has increased by about 1.0 F.

A water crisis is already brewing in the Western United States.
Multiyear drought has drained reservoirs and triggered unprecedented water cuts for the region. Lake Mead, the country's largest reservoir, plunged to record lows in recent months, threatening water supply for tens of millions of people.

California faces another year of drought and elevated wildfire risk due to climate change, expert says
SAN FRANCISCO —
For the nation’s most populous state, drought and extreme wildfires remain in the forecast.
Like much of the West, California endured extreme drought conditions and another grueling fire season in 2021. The rainy season, however, got off to a promising start, with above-normal precipitation in October and December. But hopes of an end to the drought gripping most of the Western U.S., which scientists have linked to climate change, quickly evaporated as record dry conditions took hold in California in January and February.

Thanks to atmospheric rivers and cyclone remnants pummeling the NorCal coast since October 1, this is officially the wettest water year to date since 1983 — and this is great news for the drought.
Which is it fubduh?
