Myth is that sea level rise is uniform or exaggerated. Since Earth surface isn't uniform, sea level varies above or below average at different locations worldwide. There are regional differences. For example, Panama canal between Atlantic and Pacific oceans. For a more complete picture, satellite measurements provide average height of entire ocean. However tidal gauges only measure local level which can fluctuate widely with changing tides. Long term data shows sea level is rising at an increasing rate due to thermal expansion of water and melting glaciers. Big problem is flooding from storms damaging coastal cities.

Bottom line. Thanks for the facts, Thirdperson!

Earth record breaking temperatures confirmed by several agencies. US national centre for environmental prediction, NOAA, University of Maine, and others. This week's records are probably the warmest In at least 100,000 years according to Woodwell climate research center. But experts aren't shocked. Over 97% of top climate scientists accept man-made global warming. Historically, they tend to be over cautious by under estimating its severity.

This thread is pointless if no one will acknowledge China's growing use of dirty, coal- fired power plants. You lefties act as though the rest of the world going renewable will solve your " climate change" mantra... Get real...

very much overlooked as well as increasing flooding interior due to torrential rains and indirrectly from flooding after drought conditions

The world is blasting through climate records as scientists sound the alarm:
And they are not holding back – “extraordinary,” “terrifying” and “uncharted territory” are just a few of the ways they have described the recent spike in global temperature.
rapid glacier ice melt including the arctic and antartic means little to most in the immediate sense
but it is accelerating rapidly
most of us won't be around when the worst of it starts devastating coaastal cities and cause human catastrophe on a global scale
our grandchildrens generation will suffer in their later and even middle years almost certainly

Historically, Europe accounts for 26%, US 25% and China 13% of cumulative carbon emissions since 1790. There was already a man-made greenhouse problem before China came along. So effectively, China didn't create the problem. Arguably, Europe and US bear a greater responsibility to reduce carbon emissions. Also China has lower emissions per capita while achieving most of its renewable energy goals ahead of schedule. But eventually, all countries need to do more to fight climate change.

The annual mean global near-surface temperature for each year between 2023 and 2027 is predicted to be between +1.1 degrees Celsius and +1.8 degree Celsius higher than the 1850-1900 average, according to the World Meteorological Organization
Scientists consider +1.5 degrees of warming as a key tipping point, beyond which the chances of extreme flooding, wildfires, severe drought, and food shortages could increase dramatically.

FIRST TIME IN 10 YEARS!! https://news.yahoo.com/south-africans-marvel-snow-sleet-133434426.html As winter begins in the southern hemisphere nation, meteorologists are keeping a close eye on developments. Snow has been reported in a number of provinces including the Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga and the Gauteng region which includes Johannesburg and Soweto. Farmers are also being advised to provide shelter for their livestock during the cold spell. It is not clear what role climate change has played in the rare snowfall. Oh, they will find some way to find a role.
Is this more snow than the average amount from 1850-1900?

the earth recently recorded the hottest day ever on record globally
And 51 former intel officers said Hunter's laptop had all the makings of Russian disinformation. And Scientists said in The Lancet the virus could not have come from a lab and those rumors must stop. And Joe Biden said get vaccinated and you will not get COVID two days after the UK announced that 40% of COVID hospitalizations were the fully vaccinated.
And yet they still believe.

True! Happened last week! And multiple times!
Tuesday was world’s hottest day on record – breaking Monday’s record
The GUARDIAN - Wednesday, July 5
Average global temperature hits 17.18C! World temperature records have been broken for a second day in a row, data suggests, as experts issued a warning that this year’s warmest days are still to come – and with them the warmest days ever recorded.

Absolutely true! Happened last week! Acknowledged virtually everywhere except among the members of the "Flat Earth Society"
The Hottest Recorded Day In Earth's History Is Now A Reality
MSN - July 4
According to ScienceAlert, Monday was the hottest day on Earth since the practice of keeping weather records began, clocking in at over 62.6 degrees Fahrenheit (16.2 degrees Celsius) for the first time.
Fossil fuels fire off a whopping 40 billion tons of CO2 into the atmosphere per year, driving up the heat and playing a major part in how the hottest day on record will likely change every year.

World registers hottest day ever recorded
REUTERS -
Monday, July 3, was the hottest day ever recorded globally, according to data from the U.S. National Centers for Environmental Prediction.
The average global temperature reached 17.01 degrees Celsius (62.62 Fahrenheit), surpassing the August 2016 record of 16.92C (62.46F) as heatwaves sizzled around the world.

Worldwide, meteorologists reporting on climate change face harassment from anti-science climate deniers and conspiracy theorists. Right wing media downplays the hottest average global temperatures in at least 100,000 years. Although precise measurements are impossible, paleo-climatologists use fossils and ice cores to estimate what Earth was like thousands of years ago. But unlike past global warming, current one can only be explained by man-made greenhouse effect. Not sun, volcano, orbit or natural cycle.

YAHOO NEWS -
Wednesday July 5 was the hottest day on Earth in recorded history, matching a record set Tuesday that itself surpassed a record set Monday, according to climate monitors!
Scorching temperatures in the tropics and across the Northern Hemisphere combined with unusually warm weather in the Arctic and Antarctic
