As winters warm over the long term, cold extremes can still occur. Arctic warming can push polar air south. But overall, global heat records outpace cold records. For example, trend shows declining snow levels in the US for 9 straight years.
Ya. There's a good article online explaining how global warming can push arctic systems southward into regions that don't get it so frequently.

Heavy snow is expected to hammer the Northeast on Friday,
The grim forecast has prompted officials to activate emergency protocols
Overall, between 1 and 3 inches of additional snow are possible from the Great Lakes to the East Coast.
Philadelphia could see 4 to 6 inches of snow while New York City is expecting 2 to 3 inches
It appears that mother nature is making up for some lost time,“ New Jersey Gov. Murphy said during a conference Thursday evening. “After a couple of years with hardly any snowfall in New Jersey, today, we are headed for our second snowstorm of the week.”

Why don't you share that article??
See absolutely no evidence that artic systems have been pushed into regions that don't get it.
What I do see is CNN using words like "some scientists" and "the area of science remains very unsettled". Translation, we're making shit up.

Despite cold weather in North America, much of the world is unusually warm. But one cold continent doesn't disprove global warming. Besides, weather is short term while climate is long term. Global average temperature still confirms long term warming trend. Among climate scientists, there is growing acceptance of the theory of Arctic amplification. Rapid Arctic warming weakens polar vortex allowing cold air to escape south. Making cold extremes more likely despite overall global warming. One of the clearest symptoms of human caused climate change according to climate scientist Jennifer Francis.

Eventually this planet will be hit be another huge asteroid or it will freeze because our sun will die out so no worries third
we are all going to die anyway .
Existence as we know it will be flushed down the toilet without even the memory of our species floating around like that little nugget of manure that was too soft to make it’s way down the hole …..
so it just circles there for what seems to be an eternity , and yes you’re not glitching third because I indeed made that comparison

This is too funny. The article has now changed. Gone is the phrase "heavy snow is expected to hammer" and gone is the word "grim".
Do ya think they read Covers? Maybe a level-headed editor changed it. Too funny.

And what do scientist's think of Jennifer Francis?
Most significantly, the 25-year trend that she and others had identified in observations from the late 1980s to early 2010s has weakened after another decade of observations. Although sea ice loss has continued, there are few signs of colder winters in Eurasia or North America, more cold extremes, or more frequent weakening or waviness in the jet stream. The new computer modeling matches the observations, says Doug Smith, a climate scientist at the United Kingdom's Met Office and another co-leader of the modeling effort. "There's not an inconsistency."
They think she is wrong.
But hey, look at all the attention she gets just for saying so.

It may be hit by an asteroid. But it will not freeze, quite the contrary the sun will keep getting brighter which will boil our oceans and strip all of the moisture from our atmosphere. And will expand and eventually swallow Mercury,Venus, and the Earth. The good news is we got about 4 or 5 billion years until that happens, unless we fuck it all up before then.

Thank you . Appreciate this . I’m always for learning and never saying I’m always right . also I like it that you gave me something to look into and to research . Not everyone is like that . They’ll get blue in the face till they resemble that pompous Vanity Smurf with his little fucking mirror before they relent to saying they may not know all the facts and that some studying should be done . Not me . I’ll say it . I’m trying to get better . Especially before the sun melts our skins off till it looks like the Cherry Jello-O pudding mix before you refrigerate it apparently
God Bless .

Did you know when a sun produces iron it dies, super nova. The iron in your blood came from a star that died.
In the Joni Mitchell or CrosbyStills,Nash and Young song "Woodstock" some of the verses talk about things like that,"We are stardust,we are golden,We are billion year old carbon".If you think about it in those terms, when we look up into the sky. It's basically just the universe looking back at itself and what we once were.

Hot off the presses...say it ain't so, push back on climate regulation happening in California
CalChamber, Allied Groups Sue California Over Climate Disclosure Laws
The California Chamber of Commerce and a coalition of business groups are challenging California’s new climate reporting laws, SB 253 (Wiener; D-San Francisco) and SB 261 (Stern; D-Canoga Park), in a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
The lawsuit, filed on January 30, asserts that both SB 253 and SB 261 unconstitutionally compel speech in violation of the First Amendment and conflict with existing federal law and the Constitution’s delegation to Congress of the power to regulate interstate commerce.
CalChamber Statement
In a statement, CalChamber President and CEO Jennifer Barrera explained that the laws violate the First Amendment “because they compel companies to make public statements that are likely inaccurate or with which they disagree, due to the incredible challenge of accurately reporting or obtaining reliable information regarding the emissions of their entire supply chain.”
She pointed out that the laws are also problematic because they will inflict significant costs on companies doing business in California and will not notably reduce emissions.
“We support cost-effective policies that reduce greenhouse-gas emissions as quickly as possible in order to address climate change,” Barrera said. “However, these new climate reporting laws are far from cost-effective and they will not have any notable impact on climate change. Compelling businesses to report inconsistent and inaccurate information unnecessarily places them at risk for enormous penalties. This will be particularly costly for small businesses who do not have the resources to accurately measure their climate emissions.”
In addition to the CalChamber, plaintiffs include the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, American Farm Bureau Federation, Los Angeles County Business Federation, Central Valley Business Federation and Western Growers Association.

SB 253 and SB 261, signed into law last year, require businesses to report on emissions across their supply chain, including indirect emissions, no matter where they occur despite the fact that such emissions can be nearly impossible for a company to accurately calculate.
The laws also require companies to subjectively report their worldwide climate-related financial risks and proposed mitigation strategies. The laws apply to companies across the U.S. and worldwide on the basis of even minimal operations in California.
The lawsuit also alleges that California is in violation of the federal Clean Air Act, which preempts a state’s ability to regulate emissions in other states — as California seeks to do by mandating reporting on out-of-state emissions.
In a press release, Tom Quaadman, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness executive director, warned that SB 253 and SB 261 usurp the role of federal regulators and open the door for other states to take an opposite approach to disclosure, leaving businesses in the middle of a political scrap between states.
“The resulting fragmentation will undermine the competitiveness of American capital markets, ushering in an era of duplicative and conflicting state-imposed requirements,” he said.

WASHINGTON (AP) —
A jury on Thursday awarded $1 million to climate scientist Michael Mann who sued a pair of conservative writers 12 years ago after they compared his depictions of global warming to a convicted child molester.
Mann, a professor of climate science at the University of Pennsylvania, rose to fame for a graph first published in 1998 in the journal Nature that was dubbed the “hockey stick” for its dramatic illustration of a warming planet.
The work brought Mann wide exposure but also many skeptics, including the two writers Mann took to court for comments that he said affected his career and reputation in the U.S. and internationally.
“It feels great,” Mann said Thursday after the six-person jury delivered its verdict. ”It’s a good day for us, it’s a good day for science.”
In 2012, a libertarian think tank named the Competitive Enterprise Institute published a blog post by Rand Simberg, then a fellow at the organization, that compared investigations into Mann’s work to the case of Jerry Sandusky, a former assistant football coach at Penn State University who was convicted of sexually assaulting multiple children. At the time, Mann also worked at Penn State.

Climate matters are gradual changes just like anything else on planet earth...this is like tackling a giant based on what propelled humans forward in the first place...
Here is a good example...we have all the necessary tools to use sea water for water supply throughout the world yet we don't...why isn't that a bigger and more profound topic than climate control...there are still places on this planet that do not have running water which is god damn shame...desalinization is needed and would be a big step in using the planets biggest natural resource...never understood why this doesn't get the traction it deserves
