but if the judge decides to go political and be very easy on the wealthy fatbastard where he would not do so for any normal guy    then fatbastard is still a convicted criminal but wins the presidency

@KellyM_1964 But I agree  that the proper or improper sentencing of a CONVICTED FELON is very likely going to have a significant impact on the election, pretty much along the lines you stated.

    @fubah2

in fact  i would wager the election comes down to that !!

At this point, that seems likely ... although with the recent changes there is a growing sense that the Dem party could make a good run now, even without the CONVICTED FELON receiving justice on Sept. 18...

    CONVICTED FELON loses AGAIN!

    HUFFPOST -
New York Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan
denied for the third time a request by Donald Trump
to recuse himself from overseeing the criminal hush
money case against the former president.

On May 30, Trump was found guilty on 34 counts
of falsifying New York state business records for the
purpose of concealing a hush money payment to the
    porn actor Stormy Daniels.

Merchan is currently expected to sentence the Republican
    Party’s 2024 presidential nominee on Sept. 18.

    Is a 4th and 5th attempt coming??

CONMAN wants to steal information away from the American public!

    YAHOO NEWS -

CONVICTED FELON Donald Trump wants the judge
overseeing his criminal hush money conviction
to push back his Sept. 18 sentencing
until after the November general election
[that way voters can be left in the dark about his crime]

“There is no basis for continuing to rush,”
Trump attorney Todd Blanche wrote in the letter.

CONMAN wants to steal information away from the American public!

    YAHOO NEWS -

CONVICTED FELON Donald Trump wants the judge
overseeing his criminal hush money conviction
to push back his Sept. 18 sentencing
until after the November general election
[that way voters can be left in the dark about his crime]

“There is no basis for continuing to rush,”
Trump attorney Todd Blanche wrote in the letter.

The POS CLOWN is resorting to props for use during his harangues lately. Yesterday it was Tic-Tocs & today it was Cheerios & Fruit Loops.

But he's such a moron he never brings the point of higher prices to light because he gets into Hillary's emails, the media is unfair, the windmills etc. You know the routine by now.

Soon he'll be out of the picture & I can see conversations about him in the GD forum not here because his political career will be kaput. I've never seen anyone like him. He'll still be in the news that's for sure.

We are living in a crazy world. History will recount an incumbent President bailing to of his reelection campaign, an attempted assignation on a former President & that same former president now a convicted felon with many more criminal cases in his future including losing to the first woman president who happens to be black!

It's starting to get real interesting.

    @Midnight1

     Sad.

But analysts warn the CONVICTED FELON (aka, POS!) is only going  to pull out all stops in a desperation attempt to get back in the WH.  He already has lined up numerous pro-fascism LOYALISTS in dozens of counties across the swing states to be ready to "refuse to certify the election results" if the sex-offender/fraud/FELON loses again.

Since you, me, Thirdperson, cd329, Sidehatch, MrWhatsittoya, DogbiteWilliams, Joe Pockets, zeus4 par, Brooklyncapper, KellyM_1964 and certainly WallstreetCappers (multiple times!!) have tirelessly pointed out, over and over and over again - trump is in politics for trump - not the the republican party and definitely not for the American people/country.

His almost unbelievably MASSIVE ego drives him. So the humiliation of LOSING, moreover, losing AGAIN! - and to a WOMAN! - a BLACK WOMAN -no less - one he has reperatedly insulted, is simply not an option.  He must win, at all costs!

Secondly, winning means he WILL abuse the justice system to disappear not only his forthcoming CRIMINAL cases but wipeout the existing conviction as well!  Failure to win this election - and/or failure for his pro-fascism plan B to STEAL the election by republican election fraud - means he will not only suffer many months/years of CRIMINAL litigation but he is also very likely going to prison.  Orange meet orange!

Bad enough his "UNtruth Social" media stock is tanking and even his own republican advisors are warning him about his bizarre behavior, but now the female former prosecutor leads the CONVICTED FELON in the polls!! (but very small margins....so far)

Such a loss would become his greatest of all humiliations!

So this means that not only will he just declare that he won anyway despite the results, but in his desperation to stay out of prison he will do anything and everything to prevent a peaceful transfer of power to a black woman democrat.  I expect chaos at least and probably more Trump incited violence, which he will blame on Kamala Harris.

Special Counsel Smith Appeals To Reinstate Classified Documents Case Against CONVICTED FELON

    AP -                    an_clap     an_cheers

The appeal is the latest development in a prosecution
that many legal experts consider a straightforward criminal
case but has been derailed by delays, months of hearings
before Eileen Cannon, a Trump-appointed judge,

who dismissed the case on an erroneous technicality.

U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon threw out the case, one of four prosecutions of Trump, after wrongly concluding that Smith’s appointment as special counsel was unconstitutional.

Smith’s team appealed to the Atlanta-based 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, with prosecutors saying in their appeal brief that Cannon’s decision is “at odds with widespread and longstanding appointment practices in the Department of Justice and across the government.”

an_light** Analysts believe Jack Smith's team has a very strong case for reinstituting the criminal case against the CONVICTED FELON.

It’s great to see that DoJ has responded to Judge Cannon’s dismissal of the Trump Mar-a-Lago case.

Their motion methodically dismantles her arguments, and concludes they have “no support in text, context, history, or common sense.”

Specifically the motion notes that special counsels have been appointed for 150 years, and also routinely funded by the normal Congressional appropriation to the DoJ. During that time, both Congress and the Supreme Court have upheld every appointment against every challenge, most recently the Nixon case during the Watergate scandal.

The motion also extensively establishes the legal definition of terms used in US statutes and Constitutional language, which Judge Cannon had subtly altered in her ruling, to justify her logic.

But most of the charges in this case, IIRC, are for crimes Trump allegedly committed after leaving office ,   especially the charge of not returning the documents when requested and lying about having returned them. Those weren’t official duties because he wasn’t POTUS at the time, so they shouldn’t be afforded any special immunity.…….It will be interesting to watch how Thomas and Alito try to legally respond without looking any more conflicted then they already do!

How big is trump's delusional EGO?

Earlier this year, Trump shared a video

suggesting that God made him America's "caretaker."

“And on 14 June 1946, God looked down
on his planned paradise and said:
                        ‘I need a caretaker,’"

... a video shared by Trump on Truth Social said...

                  “So God gave us Trump."

Kelly, you would think it would be hard to do.But MAGA voters say hold our beers,"Ha,you think we wouldn't still vote for our dear leader, just cause he's a convicted criminal in prison".

You forget these are the same voters who heard him call one of this countries war hero's "a loser",because he got captured in a war trump ran from. And they still said "That's my guy to lead this country".

These are the same people who close to the election in 2016,heard him bragging about sexually assaulting women. And still said "Yep,that's the guy who's getting my vote".

These people are the ones at his rally's,who stand up and cheer when he states "I love the uneducated".

These are the same people who heard and saw him take the word of a dictator (who is no friend to this country) over our own intelligence agencies. And these voters saw no problem with that.

These are the voters who heard him brag "I could stand in the middle of 5th Ave and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters".I don't remember to many republicans disputing that they WOULDN'T vote for him if he had did that.Just the nerve to tell people that you could shoot somebody right in front of them for no reason, and that he would still have your vote,is f*cked up in itself. And I don't remember to many of his spineless followers saying he was wrong. You are in the cult pretty deep if you can't find the balls to correct a politician,if he states that to his followers.

These are the voters that think that attacking this country and trying to overturn our election results (because they lost) makes you a  patriot.

So I'd be very surprised if he losses this election, that he'll be gone for good.Grifters and conmen, are gonna grift and con,it's in their blood. He'll bleed them all, completely dry.He got these clowns to buy a t-shirt saying "Never Surrender",with a picture of himself, when he was surrendering.I mean he got these fools to pay a so-called billionaires legal fees. And these idiots are happy to do it.That be like when Bezos was getting a divorce, him begging Amazon customers to pay his divorce lawyers for him.It takes a special kind of idiot to send a billionaire money?

Smith argues that the actions [the convicted felon] took to overturn the election were in his private capacity – as a candidate – rather than in his official capacity, as a president.

That argument flows from the Supreme Court’s decision in July, which granted the former president sweeping immunity for official actions but left the door open for prosecutors to pursue Trump for unofficial steps he took.

The convicted FELON’s other legal woes

    CNN -

In a new court filing Thursday,
Trump’s lawyers argued that the criminal charges
he faces in the federal 2020 election case should
be thrown out because of a Supreme Court ruling.

This comes a day after federal prosecutors laid out
their most extensive case to date against Trump
for his effort to overturn the 2020 election.
It is just one of four criminal cases he faces.

Hypocrite Trump threatens to withhold disaster relief to states if elected as he continues to falsely accuse Biden administration of withholding aid to hurricane victims.  Withholding FEMA aid is an impeachable offense.  No rational person should vote for a president who could be impeached for a third time or more.
