Trillions to build a wall?  Since when did a democrat become so concerned about how much money we spend !?  Lol.  And where is “your” data to support how much it would take to build a wall?  And think about this.  Shouldn’t our most important taxpayer $$  go to protecting this country, and its people.  This should come “before” all the other nonsense Dems have passed during the Biden Administration.

 Energy Independence "flourished" under Trump.  I already mentioned that U.S. oil output was at its highest under Trump.  

ZIRP allowed the frackers to flourish, then shareholders became more disciplined, and oil went to "0" because of the pandemic.  Go back and look when oil went negative.  You and I were discussing this years ago in the investment forum at the time.  I don't need to ask "where were you" to you , but I do question your memory on the timeline of events.  It occurred "during" Trump, but you gotta understand cause and effect better, and that was pandemic related.  

Regarding inflation, I'm not sure I understand why it's so difficult for you to follow.  You're a financial guy after all.... 

Government spent unprecedented amounts, causing the FED to print Trillions of $$ that was then circulated in the economy.  How do you not see this NEW DEMAND in the economy (with static or even faltering SUPPLY causing) not causing  inflation ?  

Supply chains during COVID "contributed" to the inflation problem, that has worked itself out.  There are "no big stories" of how companies are still clamoring to get goods from overseas.  None.

You are making the same mistake the FED made.  They thought inflation was "transitory," because they too thought it was supply chain caused, and failed to understand the true driver of inflation... And... I don't need to repeat myself again on what caused inflation....

 I disagree with so much you commented with it is obvious we see things very very differently. In the grand scheme of things the government impact on GDP is minor even with the extremes our debt has grown, it has not caused demand to the degree in which we are seeing inflation, plus the government has overspent for decades, YET the spike only happened when supply issues came. We did not see a spike from Covid and all the stimulus for several reasons, first the lead time it takes to flow through from money in hand to impact demand is not immediate, second as I said earlier corps hold supply a queue even those JIT manufacturers still have enough demand to float for months and some for years. But if you recall the first cry about supply chain came from JIT manufacturers, it came from chip makers, computer companies etc...they first pointed out that component issues were delaying their JIT models and the downside of JIT is a kink wrecks the whole thing. Supply chain is not fixed and even when it is fully fixed it will take a year to replenish the queue and in addition to supply chain, prices for components are up..even with some supply trickling the price for components is not declining and that is due to the supply chain AND about finance costs, so it is not as cheap to produce now and thus those input costs will not fall quickly and inflation will not fall quickly either.

Fracking took over a decade to build it wasnt one year of Trump-a-licious republican movie script to make the US independent, corps take years to develop, plan, explore get permits, get infrastructure, to drill and extract..its for sure ZERO to do with Trump and 100% to do with cheap capital and that is why our production has not returned, those marginal frackers who added to supply and those wildcat corps like Chesapeake who went all out have not returned to those levels..its about cost of capital and lead time, not some balding loud mouth politician. Oil went to zero during Covid, but think about this again, the world is one big economy all connected and oil supply takes a long long time to build and to use, why did oil go to zero so quickly and bounce back quickly? The reason oil went to zero had to do with leverage and the markets were trying to force a few levered players OUT...and they did and it reversed super fast. I know you wont read up but there are plenty of articles and history about the futures markets imploding for a day or two and reversing, that is not because of Covid, that is a breakdown and reversal..caused by futures contracts and leverage.

The FED has no tools for supply, they can only impact cost of capital, so no matter how high rates are or how low rates are they cannot force inflation any longer like they did in 1980 because the flow through of M1 from the FED is wrecked, the FED raises rates and it impacts banks, they lower and it impacts banks, in the long ago past banks did not scheme to make profits they lent and made a return on lending...now banks buy government bonds and park it at the FED and make a risk free return day to day, lending is not the only source of a return and in fact I think that ZIRP did not really help the consumer only if you had a mortgage or had pristine credit and could get a cheap car loan. After 2008 banks changed their process of lending and have curtailed this and likely will never be large lenders as they were in a wide manner, why do they need to take that risk when they can borrow from the FED and get paid to park the money at the overnight REPO facility or buy government instruments while giving NOTHING to savers. My bank PNC still has savings rates at .5% and told me that if I wanted a better rate to buy a CD or a mutual fund, yet PNC will take that savings deposit and make an exponential return with literally no risk. That is not lending, it is not banking and that is why the FED cannot influence demand as they did before. It used to be the FED lent, banks lent to people and businesses and those entities and people purchased goods to run a business or hire people, it had a multiplier effect and it worked, it no longer works and the FED will not impact supply in any positive way by raising rates and in fact their high rates will keep inflation higher for longer due to cost of capital.

Thank Obama and Bush, they were in the seat when fracking started moving forward, Trump likely could not explain the fracking process if you gave him a bag of McDonalds and wagered with him about what fracking is and how the production process happens. The guy is a dope.
