Read a nice opinion piece;
I attended the Trump rally at Madison Square Garden on Sunday night, and let me tell you, what I saw with my own eyes and heard with my own ears was nothing like what you’ve read in the mainstream media. Not even close.
Contrary to reports painting the event as a gathering of racism, rage, and misogyny, I observed a crowd brimming with joy and camaraderie. Ears ringing from all the chants of "USA! USA! USA!," I left the venue reflecting on Trump’s latest slogan: "Make America Dream Again." And, I have to admit, for the first time in a long time, it felt like better days might still be possible. Others there that night, however, walked away with much darker and foreboding interpretations of the very same event.
It’s as if there were two rallies for Trump on Sunday night: one for those who love him and one for those who hate him. Thanks to modern psychology, we now know that’s exactly what happened.
The illuminating concept here is confirmation bias, which basically says you look for evidence to support what you already believe, not the other way around. So, when you go to a Trump rally looking for hate, you will find hate. Conversely, if you go looking for hope, you’ll probably find hope.
.........In short, don’t go looking for hate unless that’s all you want to find.

‘Go’? Where? Some of these countries say they will not take them back, etc.
They have now let it become a complete mess and are limiting their options on how to deal with it.

Maybe. Still very dicey.
She had so much opportunity to differentiate herself from Biden and did not do it.
Everyone knows VP does not have much say so in policy. So she could have easily done it. But I think she was worried about isolating Biden.
What was she worried about? That he was gonna fire her for insubordination? He already didn’t like her at first, likes her even less now that he was shoved aside.
She could have run a much better campaign with an upbeat message like she started. Instead went to hate and fear down the stretch. Then when she tried to handle interviews she just bumbled them.
She should have stated some decisions and went with it and implied this would be an improvement on Biden and his policies.
I think she lost a lot of momentum by doing this.
Time will tell if it is enough or not.

Let me Share this story with you. I do Uber in the Denver area when I gave a ride to a Chinese lady with a P.H.D. who insisted on talking politics all the way to Golden, Colorado School of Mines. Four months ago. She's seen it all since living in China and moving to Atlanta. She made me feel so Good. She reiterated to me that She trusted and HAD faith in the American people that we Could see what's upcoming in this election. That as Americans, we weren't Stupid or Ignorant to not see what "could " possibly be on the horizon. That we wouldn't "fall or not see" what the truth is. She wasn't a Trump fan at all since she was totally in "Academia" but she "got it."
She trusted that true Americans were intelligent enough to Make the RIGHT choice. If you only knew how I felt that she had FAITH in us made me feel proud to be an American....I Hope you have that FAITH too.. from someone that grew up in a Communist country too..it was unbelievably Inspiring...I hope many of our fellow political Covas brothas read this Post.

The fear mongering by dems continues. From the "Nazi rally" @ MSG, to the Hitler references, to now this Dingell rep. telling a lib media member that he'll likely have to visit her in an internment camp if Trump gets elected.

Why is that funny? Trump said how many days ago that on his first day in office he would start rounding up 1.3 million illegals, that is the Vance number minimum and last time when Trump pulled his fascist scheme there were camps, so for someone being of non-white skin and from another country why would there not be the potential of her concern coming true?
Do you suggest that Trump didnt have camps before or that people of non-white skin are at risk? I do not find camps amusing or the concern of the media or citizens to be amusing.

So you doods on the TNC side complaining about housing price inflation, do you want to see more inflation? Start the deportation of illegals and you will see very wide housing inflation and very very long extended wait times for new homes.
I have a friend down here who works as an area director for a publicly traded home builder and last time Trump started this scheme the illegal or marginal trade workers that do the grunt hard part of home building pulled back from taking jobs and being available. In fear of deportation or being at risk even IF legal being detained they stopped being day laborers for home builders...the guys who do the roofing and the stucco work they do the HVAC install and the tile work, they do the electrical grunt work, the painting and landscaping and they are CHEAPER and more available than white folk so back when Trump did his fascist publicity stunt those workers stopped being available and wait times for new homes doubled to tripled due to the shortage of workers.
You cant have mass deportation without a very very large impact on the economy, but hey Trump says on day 1 it begins and that means forget the increase in new homes that your side feels is so important, it goes away and prices dramatically go up because builders paying much more for labor add that on to the cost of the end product...of course.

@StumpTownStu
Its true, do you like truth or not? What impact would deporting lower wage hard labor workers have on the economy?
My comment about housing is based on WHAT ALREADY HAPPENED. Nothing made up, we went through this scam already and it had a major impact on the Maricopa home building market and thus housing supply. It happened and will happen again, so what kind of impact and COST will this have? Billions in camp costs, legal costs, admin costs, hunting down and detaining costs...so are those fake liberal costs or is Mexico going to pay for this again?

You act as if there are no inherent cost is just letting them stay. Housing. Healthcare. It's a strain on an already stressed system.

I can't say this for sure, but you are right she could have put together a much better campaign but this is what campaigning has gone to and it's disgusting from both sides...but if truth be told, I don't think this is her doing as it is as much the party....really sad because it misses the entire point of what campaigning should really be....stop with the other persons bullshit and focus on your own plan and what you will do for the people if elected...we get it already that you don't like the other party but that doesn't make you the better candidate just because you despise the other person...get a grip already...a lot of Americans are as gullible as can be and have very slanted viewpoints already and hold onto to negatives more than than they do positives...

To your point....
$150 billion in 2023.

Why would we have "Mexico pay for it" when the very very vast majority of illegals ARE NOT Mexicans.....
We need to boot the illegal criminals. Immigration reform is long overdue but incorporating skilled and unskilled immigration into workforce is necessary for long term success. I'll take the short term medicine correction needed, painful yes, but in the long term it will pay off. Just like when our markets crash. Short term problem for long term fix...

Unfortunately looks like Trump is going to win. A Republican so close to the popular vote is likely a landslide.
There is much to fear. Although not the 4th Reich, with no attacks on democracy and strange race based ideologies, there is enough to fear. Trump represents the billionaire class, the elites, the military industrial complex, and in his form of populism, he represents a brand of conservatism that is nationalistic, using 1920-1950s America as a guidestone, and a foreign polict that places America first, and so on.
I hope he has learned something about hiring people. Even he admits it was a failure of his first term.
The transfer of wealth during COVID still has after effects on small businesses, despite the loan programs. Government bureaucracies are getting too much power. They are unelected but wield far more power than elected representatives. This is the greatest threat to democracy, and he will allow this to get worse, since he is unconcerned with it, and the billionaire class wants powerful bureaucracies they can control. Both parties need to address this. Lawsuits are not enough to hold off their powers and overreach.
The trade deficit is getting worse, and it grew more under his first tenure.
His way of speaking has not changed and so we will get the same. He speaks like a golfer at the beer hall on the 19th hole, sarcastic and cutting, non conciliatory, ingrate and unflattering to others, always the braggadaccio.
He is far more pro Israel than any President, and refuses to pursue a two state solution, and has no qualms about using the US military against Iran. He is a big spender for the military.
So this is on the horizon, a few days away.

Not even in the ballpark cost vs cost and loss combined. These illegals and fringe seeking citizenship people are not just soakers of the government they do jobs that us non-brown people dont want to do, they pay rent they buy goods and services they provide services to the communities they live.
In my mind this is a fear scam Trump is using AGAIN to get his dopey voter base angry because few if any do research and understand impact.

I lived in Southern Nevada during the Trump presidency. There was no shortage of migrant workers. Go to a Home Depot or UHaul rental and they were lined up daily looking for work. And I have nothing but admiration for these hard working people.
There is a difference between vetting those coming in, controlling the numbers and the last four years of idiocy we have seen. Rather obvious.

Nice to know.
Yessir, you hear those stories a lot.
I travel far too much. I have a lot of those examples.
But I also have examples of some that see it the opposite as well.
But you are right that the ones that come from, or came out of, one of the Communist-style nations overwhelmingly feel this way.
A British guy told me the other day after the Rogan podcast and whether Harris would go on there, "My opinion is irrelevant but the question is could you listen to her for 3 hours. I cannot listen to her for 3 minutes."
So, I always try to oppose them a bit and told him well a lot of people like the policies that they think she will implement, etc. They can overlook the voice and laugh.
Then he said, "Oh, I was being nice. Let me tell you about her policies!"
He said, "The World is watching you guys and depending on you to do the right thing."
Then there he went.
I just listened.
So, even some of the folks from non-Communist states are saying it as well.

So this guy was in the bathroom when Tucker, Giuliani, Hinchcliffe, that angry bald guy and a few others were on the stage saying things that Trump Campaign has now openly apologized for?
Also, the irony in this statement. Wooo... The illuminating concept here is confirmation bias, which basically says you look for evidence to support what you already believe, not the other way around.
Do I even need to say it?

The drywaller that works on jobs with us has hired an all Mexican crew to cover the amount of work they have. There is also an insulation crew that is all Mexican on top of the traditional landscapers and brick layers. Painters, roofers, siding. They are getting into all of it. Multiple reasons I see are their willingness to do jobs that Americans don't like doing and the bigger reason, a lack of young Americans getting into the trades. The younger kids I see are almost always on HVAC or AV/Security crews. I'm not sure if these crews are legal or not. The fact is if they weren't there, these jobs would be delayed or not getting done at all. The average age of Construction workers/skilled tradesmen keep getting older. There are less getting in, there are less left over to train new people.

Democrats love to pee on you and tell you it's raining. I haven't, at any point, acted as if every illegal is some gang banger so please, let us not act as if every illegal is swinging a hammer or taking care of some rich couple's kids. Illegals add an estimated 100 billion in taxes but cost an estimated 150 million. To your point, they stimulate the economy when they pay rent, shop for goods, etc but there is also the accompanying cost in the form of law enforcement, fire, schools, transportation/road maintenence, etc. Let's stop pushing this, "we'd be lost without them" narrative. And frankly a lot of the money earned by Central/South American workforces, leaves the country. Let's stop acting like entire familes are coming here and simply setting up shop and becoming upstanding members of society. There are plenty of single, working age males, which is always a recipe for disaster, and plenty of women with fatherless children. Bringing in a ton of people who immediately join the lowest economic tier is not a good thing, regardless of how you spin in. Again, it simply drains already tapped resources.
@wallstreetcappers
And just so we're clear one one thing, you can't simply assign people a side to justify your combative inclinations towards them. I'm sick and tired of people telling you they aren't even "maga" for you to tell them that they are, and then proceed to dress them down. You're a covers moderator, not the final authority of people's beliefs and/or opinions. I am not, nor have I ever been, a "maga". I have beliefs that are extremely conservative. I have beliefs that are extremely liberal. I simply supported Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton, and over Joe Biden. I base my political opinions on policy, not personality. It seems there are plenty on this website who are anti-Trump simply because they dislike the person he is. And these same people struggle to find policy reasons why they supported Joe Biden, or why they support Kamala Harris. Illegal immigration isca big issue with me. You can sweep it under the rug as a non-issue but I know this to be false. The economy is the economy. It will be what it is regardless of who holds office. I support many Democratic agendas. I believe in enrlvironmental protectioin. I believe in green energy development and research. And no, that doesn't mean jumping feet first in with regulations. It means research and development. Growing the sector in the right way. I also am against corporate tax cuts/incentives. For this election though, illegal immigration is my biggest issue because I have seen the effects with my own eyes, across multiple states.
Kamala Harris will win my home state. I once predicted she would be the first female president when she was still DA od San Francisco. I met her more than once in those days and wa impressed. The woman I met is not who stands before us today, and i'm not sure what that party did to her but alas, I will support her if she wins. If she loses though, it won't be because the country is racist, or sexists. It will be bacause her agenda, the agenda of the democratic party, does not align with that of the American people.

Is the crew legal or illegal though. Anyone who has worked in trades has worked with hispanic tradesmen. Traditionally Mexicans. And few among that group with ever have anything negative to say about them. Their work ethics. Their attitude., etc. Some would say they are typically get it done tradesman and not high skilled craftsmen but you know how that goes. Every tradesman thinks they are better than they are, and better than the next guy. Neither here nor there though. In an increasing automated world, we need to be pushing our own men and women towards these fields. We don't need more tik tok "celebrities". We need hammer swingers. We need to bring back shop classes, for starters.

@StumpTownStu
Here is the reality, the TNC is forwarding this illegal deportation scheme, not even the RNC its the TNC so when you reference this scheme then you are associated WITH THE TNC...that is how it works. If you support a position that originates with a specific segment then you associate with that segment. I do not go off and say you have Harris derangement syndrome like some here do towards those who disagree with Trump in ANY FASHION, as if insulting someone proves a point, I do not do that. I name the party forwarding the narrative and if you support the narrative then you are associated PERIOD.
My examples are not fabricated, what I state happened and the lack of research from the TNC voting clan is legit, people have no idea what the impacts and consequences of their voting are, the just love to be angered and run to the ballot box not at all understanding what they are supporting and what REALITY is regarding voting for an extremist like Trump. Trump is a salesman, he is a con artist, he is a manipulator and a liar, he is a fascist and he is a zero ego clown so what he says he will not do, people want to fall for the lies and agendas, the fear and scare tactics but they really do not want to fix the problems...they want someone who as Tucker the dope said is going to beat the kids when he gets home...brilliant stuff right there.
The housing situation happened, my comment was does your side want housing or do you want illegals to go into hiding? They are correlated and it is a real scenario, it happened down here last time and it causes HOUSING INFLATION. Paying fringe or illegal day workers costs less versus a union guy or a skilled business who hires non-fringe workers, those costs are passed along and that is direct and specific inflation. Same goes for the situation in Ohio, the corps there got approval from Vance and the government to bring Haitian workers because locals did not want to do the work for the pay offered, if that scheme is not allowed and other schemes then that will cause the business to either leave town or to raise prices.
Why are we not going after the Infosys and NTT Data corps of the world who are really doing the worker theft, bringing in IT people on the cheap and taking a cut of the wages and in the process taking solid middle to upper class jobs away from Americans? How has Trump not hammered those groups and the high value jobs we give away to the NUMEROUS IT outsourcing firms and the millions of visas that go along with it? THAT is theft, that is job loss and has much higher value than the labor jobs we target and the groups doing that work.
@StumpTownStu
