@THEMUGG Just goes to show how uninformed the average person being polled is. By no measure is Biden a better President than Nixon was. In fact, Biden should be auto-worst in history.

I believe we all need to reduce/filter the all the personal information we can. There are businesses, some of them staffed with hundreds of "workers" (scammers) who work on a commission basis, and not all in India or Ea Europe. They are able to net in anything you have ever said.....recently I was nearly fooled and amazed what a scammer knew about family members, asking to wire money for some "emergency." It's like being chased in a movie......Probably oin the future this is going to get worse and worse and even dangerous, esp don't mention you're travelling....
Yes, I post at odd times....I am mostly somewhere in the 'triangular quadrant' of northern Europe, but I travel to the US and Canada. Love the US.
I try not to discuss politics, but it comes out at election times.....I love going to Texas and So Carolina, W.V. ....wherever....and I've been asked essentially "what's it your business our politics...why it matter so much...?
It is all our business if Trump redefines the modern nation state, and you know he appealed to his base....and when exactly is this epoch of American Greatness that he and his rural supporters aspire to? is it the time when white settlers killed all the buffalo and threw their carcasses in heaps, sent the "person" off to reservations in arid Oklahoma....essentially to kill them off....either with alcohol or indoctrination in schools. There are people alive today who were segregated, who could not vote, who were told in so many ways they were worth-less. I hope none of his policies align with his coded language and rhetoric. Noone wants to deny anyone their rights ever again. I don't care if the fcking trains run on time any better, a nation state that discriminates is not worth defending. Biden at least was a good model for inclusion and equity. Trump needs to continue these policies, and tone down the attacks on "wokeness." Yes, sometimes admittedly it is over the top. But we should not throw it all away for "efficiency" or whatever.
I shoiuld not be discussing politics at all.....someone could, if enraged enough, find a way to target anyone....I only chimed in at election time. I only have a few bets in Polymarkets now, and will collect on these shortly (got all the neocons correct for his cabinet, incl Hegemeth, Rubio....)

It appears that you get your "news" from lib media. They've done their best to try & frighten people into thinking the sky will fall if you don't vote the way they tell you to. "Trump's base" at this time is a majority of American voters. They compared 4 years of Trump vs. four years of Biden & decided they prefer the former. Nobody that thinks for themselves, & is honest with themselves, saw anyone's "rights" taken away. But the lib indoctrinated think that there should be an extra set of rights for anyone that identifies as "oppressed". Most people don't give a shit what color/creed/race/etc. you are, or what you "identify as"......everyone has their own problems to deal with. You can't just hand unqualified people jobs/positions in company's/gov't. because they claim to be part of an oppressed group, or because you think it would be cool to make them "the first". It undermines confidence in those working hard to achieve, & those that already have. Meritocracy should still count for a lot, because if it doesn't then what's the point in even trying? The education system in the US has gone to shit, partly because those in charge are afraid of offending people by flunking their kids. They've made the grading system fail-safe, & consequently now many kids are given HS diplomas yet they can barely read. That's one kind of wokeness we as a society have given in to. It's certainly not what one would call "efficient". Life is hard. You wanna be different? Work to achieve something & set a good example for others instead of just complaining about your life.

No one is a good model for equity and inclusion. It is reverse discrimination on the basis of one's skin color, predominantly. I thought this country went through this already in the 60s, but I guess this wasn't enough. The same woke people of today would have attacked MLK if he was still alive, today. , "" when someone can be judged on the content of their character, not on the color of their skin"".
Why is it so hard to live in a meritocracy.... may the best man/woman win the job.

More classic Dementia Joe......
"Biden told reporters Friday that his decision to drop out was more about unifying the party, and said, "And I think that Kamala could’ve beaten Trump, would’ve beaten Trump," according to Mediaite. Biden has said multiple times he believes he would have won a general election against Trump."
Didn't anybody tell him?

Employers still hire the best people available under diversity, equity and inclusion policies. DEI is about leveling the playing field for members of historically marginalized community. They might receive more consideration if two job candidates are equal.

You won't think dementia cracks are very funny when you or someone you love has it.
My Mom had it. She thought my sister was a childhood friend of hers.

Shame on the biden family and camp. They knew about this long ago and yet kept him out there for their own benefits. He should have been at home enjoying family friends in private. No one deserves what happened to him.

It is not that it is 'funny' as a joke, but more 'funny' as 'ironically obvious' to anyone with common sense observing.
Then you have the media and advisors saying that it is not true and that he is still very sharp.
Most people have had someone in their family with dementia or Alzheimer's. They do not pretend they are fine.
I am sure your entire family did not 'pretend' your mother was not experiencing dementia and let her go about her life normally.
The real issue to me is Jill.
I have said from the very start of his first run that she knew what was going on. A person's family sees the decline first and a spouse, for sure, sees it.
I am certain the Democratic Party came to her and 'begged' her to let Biden run, because he was their best chance to beat Trump.
And I gave her a pass for that -- at first. But she should have made it very clear that the Democratic Party had four years to have another candidate ready to run.
Then, I had to change my mind when she was 'allowing' him to run again. She even seemed 'angry' when they ran the coup on him.
I realized then that she cared more about being the First Lady than her husband's legacy.
That is the real sad part to me. Because, whether you agree with his politics or not, Biden had been a good longtime political figure.
But the really funny part is the fact that Biden picked a DEI hire that backfired. Whether he was fully demented at the time is not the point. The point is that the Party advisors 'selected' Harris for him. Then they 'selected' Harris for the party as the Presidential nominee.
Biden, I said at the time, got the best insurance policy in political history. He knew that no one wanted her to replace him.
But when his decline became too much for the Party -- it simply backfired on him and the Party.
So, yes, in a lot of ways it is amusing. Sad that he appears to have dementia -- no one should wish that on anyone.
But hilarious that all of this backfired on the 'elites' of the Party.
The people and the other potential candidates of the Party should be livid. But they do not seem to be. This is somewhat amusing as well.

Actually some of the more fond moments of my pops passing actually were the dementia cracks.
Trying to talk him out of a coffee with 3 shots of amaretto while on trazadone, hydromorphone, haldorol, and lorazepam at 1:30 am.
"Where you going?"
Get a coffee
A coffee, why?
Cauuuuuuse I waaaant one.
Scooby is 10000% correct in #162. The digs are a result of the lefts ignorance or complicity when confronted in earnest, all for political gain.

"You won't think dementia cracks are very funny when you or someone you love has it."
No, it's not.......it's tragic. I'm sorry you had to watch your mother go through it. A friend had to go through the same thing, so I'm quite aware of how awful it is in its advanced stages.
Question: Would you ever suggest someone with that condition occupy a position of responsibility? Would you just cover for them if it was beneficial to you?

Having said that, the POS has a different kind of mental illness bordering on moronic.
He's narcissistic, anti-social & paroninoid. He sundowns each night with bizarre social media texts in the middle of the night. He can't remain on topic for any normal amount of time. His handlers are terrified when he doesn't stick to the script & quickly goes off on tangents. He rambles, consistently slurs his words & believes he's an expert on every subject imaginable.
I could go on but why bother. I'm not here to change anyone's mind. The man is dangerous. Recently he threatened "all hell will break loose" if hostages in Gaza are not released before he comes into office. What kind of comment is that?
And don't tell me "Oh, you can't take him literally" bullshit.
Yea, Joe is not healthy but either is the POS who we are stuck with for the next 4 years.

not picking on Third here but this needs to be pointed out, leveling the playing field literally means taking a lower quality applicant as to check off certain boxes that a higher quality applicant possesses but they are say a white male. It doesn't level any playing field in fact it is counterintuitive when the entire team has to prop up the lower quality job hire based on race/sex/gender or non gender. This is why some corporations are moving away from DEI standards, but they will have their own set of diversity hires. It's not because Trump, it's not going away. Remember the term EOE, equal opportunity employer. Funny how EOE just faded away and then DEI came about but now DEI is a 'racist' term. It never ends, there will always be a group of oppressed people.
Now the two job candidates are equal, there is no might receive consideration. In fact that's why the DEI category was made, like you said to level the playing field. To give the under privileged or underperforming applicant the job over a better choice due to race/sex/gender non gender. Maybe it's just my generation, but life has been dumbed down to where you don't balance a check book, you can't read a map because gps, and all the kids have limits on electronics from blue light. Now everyone wants to work a min wage job to make ends meet, wants free healthcare and free rent and free groceries but drive expensive cars, and then complain when the people in reality finally had enough and vote in someone to eliminate whole sections of government that morphed into socialists and frankly communists.

It is more than 'some' that are abandoning it, but it is almost a wholesale move away from it.
It is not just that it is not working. But it is the result of the negativity of the unintended consequences.

There are myths about affirmative hiring. For examples, quota system, favoring certain groups, unfair to merit and lowering of standards. In reality, affirmative action treats everyone equally and ensures the most qualified job candidates are hired. Case against affirmative action is weak. Polls show most Americans support affirmative action.

In reality, affirmative action treats everyone equally
This is a huge problem with it. They should not -- everyone, nor their performance, is equal.
and ensures the most qualified job candidates are hired
By its very definition, it does not.
