You are incorrect. The changes you speak of would require changes to this little document we call the Constitution. It would require ALL STATES to ratify. Do you really think people living in smaller states would surrender their voices ? This makes no sense. Look it, our country was designed w a system of checks and balances by our founding fathers. This was not by accident.
I know it's hard for republicans like yourself to think about the long term but I could see the dems rigging elections by moving their excess influx of voters to these smaller states to take them over. It doesn't take much to screw the make up of these smaller populated states that already have dem voters in them.

If you can't see desperation coming from both sides, I don't know what to tell you. It could happen, for you to hand wave it is ridiculous. I for one do not want to see shady tactics like that but if you put people's backs against the wall in in desperation situation, they could be like a caged animal. Times have changed you have to nip things in the bud. Elections just have to evolve to prevent events like I described from happening or would that be OK with you?
