Yes, all judges have political leanings. But to be shouting about left wing conspiracies, the Clintons & him being the target of a leftist politcal hit during his nomination process under oath takes it to another realm. Go back to Kavanaughs own words on these concerns and you might realize how asinine your comments were. Leading repubs have taken hypocricy to a new low & made an art form of it. But then, our potus is a master of it along with being a lying fraud & conman (both as a bidnessman & potus) & now they're empowered to step up their BS game even further.

U.S. Supreme Court Justice embarrassing herself,, by crossing over the line and making very dumb political statements against a presidential candidate just before the election.. in the midst of his campaign..

By making those statements and bashing Donald Trump she made an endorsement Hillary Clinton...has a SCOTUS justice ever done this before ?

This shows ,,that she could very well have prejudice in future cases involving the Trump administration..and may have to have to recuse herself...for making such foolish statements..

By his own statements surrounding his comment, "Don't be a jerk", Kavanaugh disqualifies himself. Can't compare a couple inappropriate comments about Trump from an 80 something judge who's already been on the SC bench for 25 yrs to the outlandish partisan rants & behaviour of a nominee during his nomination process. Just because he was selected by a potus who's under a massive criminal investigation & looking for possible SC protection, doesn't mean he's "entitled" to anything other than consideration. There are many other conservative judges who are imminently qualified & in more normal times with almost any other potus (dem or repub), Kavanaugh would have already been replaced.

actually, these are the new normal times...regardless of dem or repub president putting up any new judge nominee, you can be sure the same circus acts will surround every future nomination...someone random from that persons past will become the opposing parties pawn to conduct another smear campaign...its all a political side circus show now...the precedent has been now set with how Ford's allegations came out without any corroboration, and the next time it will happen again...and again...and again. We will never know the full truth, that's how the political wheel will always spin.

You want to dismiss a SCJustice's comments because of her age?

..and let her off the hook for in effect.. endorsing Trump's opponent just before an election..

Well, if her age is a detriment to having good judgement ..maybe she should step down for the good of the country..

The Code of Conduct for U.S. judges states that a judge shall not "make speeches for a political organization or candidate, or publicly endorse or oppose a candidate for public office,"

Clearly ,,Ginsburg violated that provision and what she did is more egregious...  due to the fact that she is already on the Supreme Court...and such should avoid even the appearance of impropriety.

I have no negative feelings about Kavanaugh but he better not hold any grudges or be anything more than an Impartial Jurist calling balls and strikes or Dems will haul his ass in for Impeachment when they take back power.

Since this is still being discussed, I want to bring up that Kavanaugh's drinking history and his current situation should have been investigated much more thoroughly.  It sounds like he may be an alcoholic who doesn't have a lot of control over his sobriety and how often he drinks.  This position is too important to be binge drinking randomly on a day off and trying to recover or drinking off and on occasionally on certain days.  I have a friend who's a functioning alcoholic.  He works during the week and never drinks.  Then when he's done everything necessary and dinner hits on Saturday, he starts up drinking and gets wasted.  Sometimes he'll do it again on Sunday.  He pays me rent so I witness it firsthand.



I don't know if Kavanaugh still drinks a lot or not, but he emphatically stated how much he loves beer and it seems like he's been partying for quite a long time.  I want someone who's fit and capable for this position.  I would even prefer a more conservative judge who happens to rule that way more frequently if that individual is sober and isn't compromised.  I wouldn't like it but obviously Trump was going to get someone nominated to the Supreme Court.  When something is a reality and can't be prevented, I take the best option available.  Is Kavanaugh really the best option?  I don't think so.  In fact, I'm not sure if another Republican president would have even nominated him for the position.  If I continue the hypothetical, let's say another Republican president did it.  I still believe someone else would have withdrawn the nomination and picked another candidate.  Trump is too stubborn and arrogant to admit he made a bad choice.  Does anyone remember Jackson, the pick he wanted for the VA?  His issues were highlighted and he was forced to choose someone else. Of course, even then Trump didn't want Jackson to withdraw.  Jackson had to do it on his own.
