You can say the same for the democrat leaders in almost every city. Why are their cities the most run down? If dems cared for the their country their cities wouldn't be literal piles of shit. That wasn't a press conference, per se. Press opportunity? Photo op? A press conference is where a prominent person addresses the press directly, usually also taking questions. She was just there. Obviously the press was tipped off to be there but that would be like calling TMZ a press conference. I guess by the loosest definition it would be but not in any traditional sense. What journalists did during Trump’s presidency will have a severe impact on people’s perception of the media for the foreseeable future. I got the vaccine early because my parents are older but I can see why so many people don’t have any faith in the information.
The internet age has completely killed the integrity of the media. Print media is a relic. What is left of it, and certainly cable news, has had to adapt a revenue approach similar to that of the interweb that is heavily reliant on "hits". They are still more accurate and trustworthy than the whack jobs people on Facebook and Twitter people choose to trumpet, they still have fact checkers and compliance offices, but the media has gotten ugly. Matt Taibbi has a book, Hate, inc, that covers this. Good read. At the end of the day, the media is there to make money. They are selling a product to the public. One of the public's favorite products is manufactured rage. Another is fear. They play on both with the same tropes. People lap it up. Shows how sad their lives are. Glued to CNN, glued to Fox, all for that rage fix. I watch the local news at 11. All I need. "Is there a wildfire coming? Do we need to evacuate? Cool." The wife likes the evening network news at 6 or whatever. Both are pretty straight forward and relatively unbiased compared to print media and cable news.
