Name a country that doesn't require ID to vote.

I can only name 1, the USA.

What the hell is wrong with Americans and their deep rooted denial. You live in an idiocracy.

Next time you go to the hospital and they want ID tell them you don't have to because its raaaaacissst. Next time you get pulled over. Next time you buy alcohol. Next time you do pretty much anything important, they want to know who it is.

Those who are opposed to voter ID are saying that voting is less important than buying a pack of cigarettes.

    Idiocracy

Get the brawndo out and turn on CNN

The FBI will soon be tracking you and your traitorous friends down...they'll be at your trailer park soon!

A Hero?! Excuse me? She’s a treasonous POS with a one way ticket to GITMO. FOH with that hero talk, you CLOWN.

Oh, and DJT didn’t lose. This is playing out exactly how it was planned. If he wanted to stop the expected fraud, he could have. This is called exposure. You can’t tell the people, you need to show them. He’ll be back very, very, very soon.

People cheat at just about anything.

People cheat at online video games. People cheat at poker. People cheat. People are crooks, people are dishonest.

The more opportunities and loopholes available for cheating the more cheating you will get.

Ive also heard that voter ID is raaacist. Are you implying black people can't figure out how to get ID? That is racist. Completely and totally. I've heard it all. It's a joke.

    Let's crack a brawndo.

(I'm for voter ID, as long as the state makes it reasonably easy to get one. Some states intentionally make it impossible to get a voter ID card if you don't have a license from that state).

(I'm for voter ID, as long as the state makes it reasonably easy to get one. Some states intentionally make it impossible to get a voter ID card if you don't have a license from that state).

Voter ID card or ID to vote?

Why is anyone against having to have ID to vote?

I briefly looked at Sweden and Australia and that is simply not true.

This isn't about baseball though. Id expect this thread to go to the penalty box.

    lie

Ok maybe I'm wrong about Australia. But it's compulsory to vote there, and you get a fine for not voting. They have voter fraud in Australia.

Why would anyone be against eliminating voter fraud. This I don't understand. It should be a bipartisan issue.

What happens when the Republicans start to cheat like nobodies business?

    Let's stick to baseball.

Is the Republican Party’s most identifiable mandate to prevent Democrats from voting? It sure seems like anti-democratic measures are the the long term plan (e.g. like ignoring election results, attacking aspects of modern voting practises that don’t work in their favor, storming the Capitol, etc... ). Kudos to MLB for taking a stand against electoral bullying.

    @Wayverider

Are you insinuating that democrats do not have IDs? Is it bullying when the MLB asks for an ID to buy a beer? Or an ID when ticket holders want to buy a jersey with their credit card? Seems like the MLB requires ticket holders to hold an ID, why is that so hard to ask for when voting?

Most people don't know the history of the two parties, but when it was founded, the Republican party WAS the liberal, progressive, common sense and open-minded political party in this country. It was the Democrats who were reactionary, close-minded and conservative.

Oh how times have changed. The roles have of the two parties have switched. Nowadays, the GOP can't win by focusing on the issues anymore. So they have to cozen to win. They resort to keeping a certain segment of the populace from voting (as the Democrats did with the pole tax in the South after the Civil War.) And they use the fallacy of 'ad hominem' to attack their adversaries, because they can't win on the issues. (Witness the attack on Stacey Abrams in this thread...perfect example.) And they keep us divided, because they know if we ever unite, their control is over. Sad, sad, sad.

It amazes me, the ignorance of the people in this country. Saddens me too. Ignorance ain't bliss when it come to politics and gambling. You need to get the facts before you make a bet. Likewise, you need to get the facts before you take a side in this mess called American politics.

I get a chuckle when I hear these dead red Republicans bloviate about their conservative point of view. In the old sense, they are as Democrat as it gets. Funny!

I am a die hard independent, free thinker to the core. I don't like either party. The only reason I hold my nose and vote Democrat is that the Republicans are on the wrong side of the issues. The are wrong on climate change. It's happening. They are wrong on health care. Health care is not a free market enterprise. The supply side controls the health care market; the demand side (that's you and me) gets the economic shaft. That is why health care needs to be regulated. Purely economic. Any economic that can't be controlled by the free market needs to be socialized.

Here's a good read written by Stuart Stevens, a guy from Mississippi who was on the inside of the Republican Party for years. I know young people don't read anymore but maybe some of the older folks still do.

Lmao I never realized how conservative covers was, lmao half you people who blindly hate on the left for everything are always projecting everything that's wrong with the right onto the left... always talking about how they abuse welfare or they lack education, how lazy they are. Then when you look up all the states who are last in education, who are the laziest states, they use the most welfare. It's all states that have blindly voted republican their whole lives lmfao... both parties are stupid as shit, but you right wing nut jobs come out and preach everything you think is wrong with our country. Then the next second turn around and blindly defend it... hate rich billionaires? You elect Trump. Think Clinton, epstein and maxwell were all part of this pedo ring, and Trump the guy who was close friends with all of them and spoke highly of each of them, but no way Trump is part of it. He turned on epstein after he got caught. Proves he's innocent... you think the country is indoctrinated, but also only watch fox news, (the same network the army is forced to watch, which always seem to favor us going to war. Wonder why the soldiers are forced to watch that hmmmmm.) And also want the Bible taught in school and want kids to say the pledge of allegiance. Not only say the pledge of allegiance, but it must include God in it for you guys lmao, but indoctrination is bad and evil too... hahahah the past 4 years have made it blatantly obvious we have no power in this country, they will use both sides of the media to keep us having these stupid ass arguments online where both sides agree rich billionaires control the world, but fight with each other because they believe their side is somehow less corrupt or their media is less corrupt. When the people who own those things have been playing both sides the entire time anyway... Trump spent the better part of 90s and early 2000s gushing over the Clinton's. Now you guys believe they hate each other. Because the media has blown this shit up to keep us divided? Nothing will happen to Trump or Hillary. All the people who hate the media, seem to believe the media whenever it pushes their narrative... I just think trumpets are a whole new kind of stupid... there's not one thing they believe abt the left, that Trump has been accused of or charged with throughout his entire adult life, while he identified as a dumbocrat. The very party trumpets all believe do the very things Trump was accused of hahaah.... that's all fake news tho, to make their lord and savior Donald j christ look bad. Just like mail in voting and covid hahah.

You’re comparing apples and oranges.  I think we (Republicans and Democrats) can all agree preventing a minor obtaining something they should not have (alcohol) is a noble end. Preventing an impoverished or marginalized person from obtaining something (the right to vote) that is their inalienable right is a different matter.... the intent to masquerade a dishonest act is deserving of being publicly exposed. Like I said kudos to MLB. Republicans recognize that states such as Georgia are or have slipped away and thus they are attempting to win them back through illegitimate means - I say Republican but in truth I respect what the Republican Party has always represented and lament their latest morph into something that is more politically akin to fascism. Shame on you for trying to strip some of the right to vote. Win the game on a level playing field and I’ll concede defeat without complaint (the same goes for Democrats).

My apologizes, I didn't know that obtaining an official ID card was considered keeping people impoverished or marginalized. How on earth would those people ever be able to buy a pack of cigs or alcohol from the store because they don't have an ID?

Now referring to your comment about keeping a minor from obtaining something they shouldn't have is pretty similar to keeping voting to legal residents by asking for an ID. Or am I wrong? Asking for ID to buy beer at a game keeps the younger kids from getting alcohol. Asking for ID to vote.....get it?

Apples are sturdy and tough to bite into and have a plain taste and do not need to be peeled before eating, while oranges are soft and easy to bite into once peeled, they tend to be more juicy as well. Pretty easily to compare the two.

All of this could be solved if the United States government paid reparations to black people.

Everybody gets a check, including illegals and foreigners.

But, what do black Americans get except a hard time and a jail cell?

Besides, black Americans are the only ethnically American group in the United States. I'm not talking African-Americans, who are just immigrants by another name.
