Given the strong footing of the northern front, and the legacy of anti Taliban sentiment, it is just odd to be playacting the Taliban at this point, unless it is to allow them to have yet another civil war between the northern front and factions like the Haqqani network etc.
Either way, I think your idea is a bit fanciful, and an operation like that could not take place under such public scrutiny.

As I said from the moment this story broke, we will have eyes on the 5 released...I actually anticipate these 5 being dead in the near future. Beyond that this admin is on its own...

2--The only way Obama can close Gitmo is through prisoner exchange or release, this is one of first things he realized when he took office.

Maybe we drone them, maybe they will be locked up again, I don't know. I just have a hard time believing he would leave this up to chance. Would be naive to think we know all of the pieces in play in this game. I could be wrong of course
