I love that movie. When I quote to some folks and they stare at me -- it is hard to realize everyone has not seen it.

Absolutely, if the guy is convicted and if it is something that someone feels strongly about, like you do, then they should consider someone else.
The tricky part is what if he stills runs and you have to choose between an incompetent failure and Trump -- then you have to consider staying home I guess.
Sad.
I get your point that these are the only two running maybe. But why do the Democrats NOT run someone else? Look at bis numbers and the polls. At least Trump has some guys trying to run against him -- incompetent as they are.

@MrWhatsItToYa So, yes I want to know why you feel that way. But if you want to go back to the original topic of why Biden is NOT good for the economy -- go ahead.
No,let's go back to the part about why you'll support someone who allowed our country to be attacked.

@MrWhatsItToYa We went through this whole conversation the last time we talked about things.It doesn't matter why I thought senior was a decent president,or why I thought W was a failure at president. Weren't you just the guy who was complaining about me bringing up Bush,and that you wanted to stay on the topic of the thread?See that's part of the problem,you wanna talk about certain things when you want to.But then when somebody else wants to talk about the same thing,that's "something your not concerned with". Sure, it matters to me. I am always interested in when folks disagree and I want to know why? Can they support their opinions with facts or good examples? Or are they just supposing things. We certainly did not go through this before. Because I would have told you that you brought it up and made statement you believed in; I want to know why. But sure I want to stay on topic but you are floundering around and you brought it up and I am interested. I am not interested in Trump's legal issues at this point -- that is correct.
We certainly did,but in reality that really doesn't mean anything.
I'm not interested in Biden's issues either.

Because I don't see Clinton or Newsome,or Haley or Ronny winning against trump or Biden,so that's who's gonna be there at the end.I will not throw a vote to someone I know can't win.

@MrWhatsItToYa I am headed downstairs to get breakfast and coffee. I got up too early for the football game. I have a chess game in about an hour. I will reply back later this this evening, or afternoon for you I guess. But I am still curious why you ranked the Bush's where you do and why? What criteria do you base those on. And try to consider someone besides this old guy for office.
No need to reply back,we both know we're never gonna get anywhere trying to convince the other that they are wrong.It is what it is,you are gonna vote for trump no matter what,and I'm gonna vote for Biden or whoever else is against trump,no matter what.Take care guy.

Mark Meadows received immunity to testify to special counsel in federal election subversion probe
CNN —
Donald Trump’s former chief of staff, Mark Meadows, was granted immunity by special counsel Jack Smith and has met with federal prosecutors multiple times in their investigation into the efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election, according to ABC News.
Meadows told investigators he did not believe the election was stolen and that Trump was being “dishonest” in claiming victory shortly after polls closed in 2020, according to ABC.
*Note: to be granted immunity from his own indictment, what Meadows has to offer against his former mob boss must be fairly substantive.

Sure, I can understand that. I am not interested in Biden's issues either. But if you are not interested in the current President's issues, why care about the past President's issues. You constantly bring them up no matter the subject.
What you should care about is the country's issues with Biden, at least I hope.

@Raiders22 Because I don't see Clinton or Newsome,or Haley or Ronny winning against trump or Biden,so that's who's gonna be there at the end.I will not throw a vote to someone I know can't win.
Very true. That is my concern.
Both parties have had FOUR YEARS to find better candidates to run and neither party did! It is absolutely astonishing that they insist on running these old guys.
It does not seem that the Democrats have as many up-and-coming young guys as the Republicans -- but they have some. They both also had FOUR years to get it together. This is so sad.
I mean Newsome could easily be a great candidate for the Democrats. Clinton is still the same and certainly more together in the head than Biden is. No folks in Congress want to step up?
Republicans are in such disarray they cannot group together behind a speaker. So, no way they will unite behind a candidate even if it is Trump.
The one thing you have to give credit to the Democrat party is that they unite behind whomever is standing at the end; Republicans will stay home and not vote if their candidate of choice is not there.
For sure, I think Haley and Newsome would be more interesting than two old guys that each have so many issues.
But there have to be even better candidates than Haley and Newsome -- but in four years time they did not step forward and no one looked for them.
If they did find some to run--NOW that would be GOOD NEWS.

Haha! I understand and believe that! Most on the Left will do that. My point above implies that. The Left will vote FOR someone or AGAINST someone; the RIGHT rarely will vote AGAINST someone.
My concern is why you would vote against what I think are your best interests or what is in the best interest of the country as a whole. But I get that you CANNOT wait just to VOTE against Trump. I believe that may be the ONLY reason the Left does not care who is running -- they just want to vote AGAINST Trump.

I think my previous post above covers this. I have said very many times this is not true of the Right as much as the Left. Look at McCain and Romney as two examples.
You can even question why Trump did not do even better the first time around. You can take this all the way back to Reagan and compare the first and second term, etc.
But they still have a long time to get some changes done. We shall see.
But I will always hold out hope that some folks -- no matter how few -- will realize how devastating the policies on the Left are for the country.
I will also hold out hope people will set aside personal feelings somewhat and vote for the best interests of the country.

Rep. Dean Phillips is challenging Biden in Democratic presidential primary
In the interview, Phillips, 54, said he admires Mr. Biden, 80, but believes it is time for a new generation of Democrats to lead the party, especially with former poised to potentially be the Republican presidential nominee.
Phillips said he has studied polling data and is alarmed about the prospect of Trump beating Mr. Biden, should the 2024 election end up becoming rematch of the 2020 race.
"I think President Biden has done a spectacular job for our country," Phillips said. "But it's not about the past. This is an election about the future."

The United Auto Workers union is getting close to tentative labor deals with both General Motors and Stellantis, according to three sources familiar with negotiations.
If deals with the two automakers are reached, it would be the beginning of the end of America’s longest auto strike in 25 years,

I was being sarcastic because you said you were not interested in trumps legal issues at this point.It's pretty easy to defend your choice or your candidate,if you don't have to acknowledge any of his faults or issues (as you like to call trumps legal cases).I guess you might be able to make a decent argument that George W. was a decent president,if the other person can't bring up the whole crashing the economy and invading the wrong country argument.You want me to have to defend Biden,but think you just get to say "I'm not interested in trumps legal cases",and I'm not going to say anything about them.That's not how it works in the real world.

Gotcha. Yeah until they are personal issues that affect his ability to perform for the country they do not matter. If they are of that type of concern I am sure they will prove it in court. If they do that well enough I am sure that the folk’s attitude will change from supporting him. But from what I have seen this is not the case. I think the Biden issues would be more concerning if they prove ‘bribes’ or kickbacks of sorts and political favoring. But the issue is still the same — neither party has anyone in the pipeline and ready to go.

What you should care about is the country's issues with Biden, at least I hope.I was being sarcastic because you said you were not interested in trumps legal issues at this point.It's pretty easy to defend your choice or your candidate,if you don't have to acknowledge any of his faults or issues (as you like to call trumps legal cases).I guess you might be able to make a decent argument that George W. was a decent president,if the other person can't bring up the whole crashing the economy and invading the wrong country argument.You want me to have to defend Biden,but think you just get to say "I'm not interested in trumps legal cases",and I'm not going to say anything about them.That's not how it works in the real world.
@Rush51 Let me know when you finally get around to telling a fact,and I'll let you know if it scares me.
U.S. GDP Growth Rates ;
Trump ;
2020 ; (2.77%) (Pandemic)
2019 ; 2.29%
2018 ; 2.95%
2017 ; 2.24% (Tax Cuts & Jobs Act passed)
O'bama ;
2016 ; 1.67%
2015 ; 2.71%
2014 ; 2.29%
2013 ; 1.84%
2012 ; 2.28%
2011 ; 1.55%
2010 ; 2.71%
2009 ; (2.6%) (Financial Crisis)
Ave. Annual GDP Growth under Trump (2017-2019) ; 2.5%
Ave. Annual GDP Growth under O'bama (2010 - 2017) ; 2.15%
* A few things to note ;
- Years 2009 and 2020 have been thrown out in the data due to the Financial Crisis & the Pandemic.... Keep in mind though, Trump was not able to benefit from the big "bounce back" in 2021, which was 5.95% growth !! O'bama benefited from this clearly in 2010.
- O'bama has absolutely no excuse for "anemic" GDP growth of 1.x % in 2011, 2013, and 2016... None
- GDP growth accelerated in 2018 after the 2017 Tax Cuts & Jobs Act was passed.
- The Pandemic seriously interrupted the economic cycle and GDP growth under Trump. It will always remain a big question mark what those numbers in 2020 would've been, absent the Pandemic.

Oh,you are concerned why I would vote against what YOU think are my best interests.I'm gonna try and be about as nice as I can be here.I don't need you to be concerned about what YOU think I should do.As a matter of fact,why don't you just worry about what you are doing by supporting a traitor to this country,just cause he allowed you to put a couple more dollars into your pocket.Why don't you be concerned about that whole philosophy of yours,that your money situation is the only thing people should be worried about when choosing who to vote for.
It isn't "that I cannot wait just to vote against trump".I actually wish that some of the republicans with common sense would grow some balls and try and regain the party from a criminal and a conman.But in reality all the blame goes to the republican voters who continue to show their support to a POS who,
1.brags about sexually assaulting women.
2.tries to overturn our election results because the toddler can't admit he lost the election.
3.takes classified documents of this country,and refuses to give them back.Then cries when they are taken back by the government by having to issue a search warrant of his property to get them back.
They "don't just wanna vote against trump",they realize trump is willing to burn this country down to the ground,just so he don't have to face the consequences of the crimes he's committed.That's why Biden got the most votes of any president ever,not because of who Biden is.
Worry about yourself,don't worry about what YOU think I should do,I'll take care of that myself.
