Russia granted these outlying provinces conditional approval to exist, what data and information gives any credence to the theory that Russia wants to take back the provinces? I do not see any such evidence. Russia wants Ukraine and all provinces to keep to the terms they agreed to regarding conduct and respect for the larger union and that is the only reason why they are involved here IMO. If Ukraine were to stop with the NATO narrative and be respectful to the larger Russian federation I am sure this would not have even come to the surface. Russia does not want NATO in their direct backyard no more than the US did when we freaked out about Cuba. We should not be spending a dime on that situation because it was and is avoidable and unless Ukraine returns to their original framework with regards to Russia we should stop being involved. I know its a win-win for defense contractors at the expense of the US taxpayer and civilian lives lost but we should not be involved at all.

Why is it necessary for the same people on both sides here in this forum to take the majority of the conversation to the partisan stupid path when there could be great conversation about content and topics? He was not addressing me and his comment was partisan blaming which derails most everything. Why 'invade' the Entertainment section with Politics. If you think this Political Forum is bad, there are very many far worse ones with regard to civility -- yet, the discussions are much better overall. They are detailed and nuanced -- but there is name-calling and bad language, etc. This one is very mild.
But the folks that do not like this section simply stay in the other forums and ignore this one.
Since, some folks spend a lot of time on here in the other sports forums there is nothing wrong with having a Politics Forum as well. When one sport season ends it gives people time to still be on here and still be on the other sport's forums that are still going on.

Same applies to the TERRORIST ATTACK by nuclear power Russia on it's neighbor. All European and other democracy defending powers are tasked with that effort. It is not the responsibility of the USA.
