 I agree especially since we are funding groups who are not interested in peace and do not want our involvement outside of free cash and weapons. Both of these situations are no win for them and especially for the US. Neither really are our allies, they are using the US to fund their military objectives even though both of them are conducting narratives which go against our national objectives. I hope those wackos in congress do not forward this cash pile and put some expectation of resolution and a path towards peace.

And let me add one thing here that gets lost on some of this...this is post-pandemic...pre-pandemic, ahhhhh ok, but post-pandemic this should not be happening....Americans, like most other countries, suffered through the pandemic and businesses were lost, which resulted in job loss...there were many deaths and an economy that was decimated....there needs to be a different rationale and way of thinking post-pandemic

I think we need to start thinking in terms of post-pandemic and what kind of message we are sending to the American people when we are dishing out this type of funding in a cause that literally has not much to do with the people of the US...overseas it may mean something but here in the states we have a crisis happening here and that kind of money could do worlds for the people of the US...

The pandemic should have altered the mindset for spending because most would see this as frivolous spending abroad when that could do much more for the people of its own land....These politicians who were not impacted by the pandemic in the slightest by way of financial means are not in touch with the people in which it serves and therefore are not living in reality...stop the foreign aid already in a cause that useless...funding a war that you are not fighting in seems a bit ridiculous...the first round of aid I get, but the continual funding is a bit over the top...let's spend some of that money in our land and make it better...

Ukraine is a lost cause in terms of fighting...the Russians will drain you because they don't care about cost or loss of lives as most others do

Assistance to Ukraine is a strategic and affordable investment.  In 2 years, over $76 billion in US aid represents 0.65% of total federal spending with much of the money going to American companies boosting US economy.  This investment serves US national security in weakening a dangerous Russia without deploying Americans at front lines.  Putin is a threat to US and global security.  If Russian military isn't stopped in Ukraine, other dictators may be encouraged and risk of more wars worldwide may follow instead of peace.  Also refugee crisis from millions of Ukrainians could cost more than aid to Ukraine.  Over 40 countries haven't given up on Ukraine and neither should the US.

 That theory does not fly for a variety of reasons. Russia granted these outlying provinces conditional approval to exist, what data and information gives any credence to the theory that Russia wants to take back the provinces? I do not see any such evidence. Russia wants Ukraine and all provinces to keep to the terms they agreed to regarding conduct and respect for the larger union and that is the only reason why they are involved here IMO. If Ukraine were to stop with the NATO narrative and be respectful to the larger Russian federation I am sure this would not have even come to the surface. Russia does not want NATO in their direct backyard no more than the US did when we freaked out about Cuba. We should not be spending a dime on that situation because it was and is avoidable and unless Ukraine returns to their original framework with regards to Russia we should stop being involved. I know its a win-win for defense contractors at the expense of the US taxpayer and civilian lives lost but we should not be involved at all.

The bill actually has language that says Trump can not stop funding Ukraine or he can be impeached! You can make this up on your best day! This is from the very nice and very classy Left!

 Why do you guys drag left vs right into so many conversations? Left does this, right does this...both parties make pork tacos off most any legislation so congrats on saying the word LEFT again, that always makes for great conversation.

Can you recall a time the Right did this, or even the Left before now?  I cannot think of a time off the top of my head.

 That does not even make sense, so the "left" had an agenda and made a pork taco, did the right make a pork taco with the same ingredients? My comment was that both sides abuse legislation to fill it with partisan junk, or in some cases both party junk like when the budget crap goes through and both sides get to appease their corporate owners, its a strategy that has been around since the origin of the country. 

What would be super cool is to have conversations about topics, content and not have it be what the opposite party did that sucks as the lead to the majority of replies. So in this case talk about aid to Ukraine and Israel or whatever.

My question is still the same -- have you seen this before?  I just do not recall it right away, if so.

However wisdom may not be enough among the millions of "America ONLY foreign-policy-isolationists."  We shall see.   But personally I too want to prevent a much, MUCH broader and more deadly war with OUR boots on the ground in hand-to-hand combat.  Bullies are NOT stopped by "appeasing" them!  If anything, appeasing them (in any way) serves only to embolden them further....

 Lets not play games again, I would rather skip it. sundance came in with his partisan left did this comment and took the current conversation off the rails as usual and my comment was WHY? Why is it necessary for the same people on both sides here in this forum to take the majority of the conversation to the partisan stupid path when there could be great conversation about content and topics? He was not addressing me and his comment was partisan blaming which derails most everything. He isnt the only one, there are guilty parties on both sides that always go to the RIGHT or LEFT and it is a dead end dividing derisive tangent. Why would I need to engage with a tangent that has nothing to do with the topic currently in progress? Someone above mentioned how the Ukraine and Israel funding was misplaced, I agreed and then third replied on that same topic, a few of us replied...there was a LITTLE of the LEFT crap but not much and there was actual discussion about a political topic, not which party is better than another. So if YOU want to engage with a partisan tangent, feel free and good for you I am not interested and do you know why? There is no altruism with partisan babbling on either side, so sundance whining as always about the LEFT is the same as Kelly or others whining about the right, I dont care about some trap language in legislation, that is the pork taco I referenced...its a ploy its a game its a scheme and it is all the same. It takes legislation off the rails for partisan purposes and it is crap, but also as I said it has been going on since this country began..it is human nature.

It would be super cool to have conversation from everyone and to omit the partisan whining...to have topical conversation without pointing fingers at a party, elevating or debasing one party to put down or elevate another. What could make this forum better is less partisan and more open conversation.

 As far as you longing for non-partisan discussions -- good luck finding that in any political forum anywhere.

Maybe, you would be better off finding that in the General Forum or in one of the many one-sided cheerleader forums.

Political topics are partisan by definition.  People will always disagree, nearly always, by political ideology.  

That does not mean you cannot have civil discussions, however.

If you just want to have discussions with someone you are mainly going to agree with -- that is just a waste of time to me.  Because then you simply get each other reinforcing the others's beliefs.

Pointing out what the Right did, or what the Left did, on policy is almost the very root of the discussion.  

It is where you can get into the 'why' of a policy and the reasons for it being 'good' or 'bad' for everyone -- that is where the discussion should be non-partisan.
