Was that statement made on the campaign trail? an_light

Yep ,sure was. He made  this statement in Memphis on the 40th anniversary of Kings death.
Now 2 questions for you: You obviously believe he did it to garner black votes so why didn't he include this in all his speeches during his campaign? Just how many black votes do you think he gained from this while running against a black man?

And another thing to think about. If he did this to garner black votes just how many white votes do you think he lost by stating this especially in memphis?

You want %'s Dark12 - how about his 20% approval rating in his own state? The man ran on repeal & replacing 0care and when he had the opportunity he faded. The % above means nothing to me when he struck out looking in the bottom of the 9th with the bases loaded in the World Series (the political equivalent of that particular vote)...

GOP's own 2017 healthcare plan was a total disaster, i believed it had whopping 18% approval rate among the registered voters

Let's start with exactly what Trump did, remove the government mandate forcing you to buy health insurance. How about competition between states, just like auto insurance? 0care is so great, insurance companies can't get away from it fast enough. Another government screw-up, getting involved with healthcare, see the VA if you need any evidence on how efficient they can run something.

I seem to remember a post from you about offering your employees healthcare. How many took you up on that?

You want %'s Dark12 - how about his 20% approval rating in his own state? The man ran on repeal & replacing 0care and when he had the opportunity he faded. The % above means nothing to me when he struck out looking in the bottom of the 9th with the bases loaded in the World Series (the political equivalent of that particular vote)...

Oh and what does that mean anyway? You know the knuckleheads down here, are you shocked that a non-ultra conservative right wing politician is not loved by the idiots living in Arizona? This state is embarrassing in so many ways, these morons loved that civil rights money burning clown Arpaio even as he was convicted and running up multi million dollar tax payer tab for all the garbage he pulled.

Shocker...Arizona uneducated population who can barely pay new teachers salaries to not be on food stamps didnt like McCain...I am truly truly shocked.

I believe that 20% you quoted is only the party of whiners and complainers(R). His approval rating I believe was 41% 1 % higher than the liar and thief that sits in the WH now.

Obamacare is still better than Trumpcare which is a tax plan disguised as a healthcare plan.  Under Obamacare, improved access to healthcare insurance for millions of americans.  Even without Obamacare, US has the most cost inefficient healthcare system in the world.  Insurance companies chase profits and move in or out of markets.  Doctors have perverse incentive to maximize unnecessary services.

However veteran and medicare/medicaid healthcare are more cost efficient.  Majority of recipients are satisfied with quality and access.  Other countries spend less on healthcare because of government intervention in controlling costs.

Thanks Stu. Lets say when I arrived full-time employees didn't get holidays and there was constant turnover. It's a small town and it's like 1985 there as far as wages and cost of living go. No ones quite in 2+ years, which never happened in the 25 year history of the company so I must pay at least competitive wages. Wages are 30-40% higher than when I arrived. There's a business equation that certainly you must be familiar with, gross sales, minus expenses, etc. this allows you to stay in business... In addition, I have 7 employees and offered to cover the employees healthcare. Please let me know how many small businesses offer that. A few months ago, I gave a guy a $100 a week raise. Special case, family man with a disabled child. If he makes over x, he loses his family's healthcare. He learned that "x" was higher than expected and I stepped up for him. How many $100 a week raises have you ever gotten or given?

McCain was a traitor to his fellow soldiers, his country and his Party, and should be buried face down in a landfill.

On a positive note, John Kyl is a nice replacement for his Senate opening.

You are sadly mistaken on both points. McCain is one of our last heroes from a terrible era & Kyl is a 76 year old temporary employee who will vote the way he is told.

How was he a traitor? And while you're at it, tell me about your military service.

Sounds like you're doing right by your enployees. And you're right, it's the small business owners, especially those in small towns, that would be affected most by sweeping healthcare mandates. Those small business owners though are but a fraction of the big picture. And if you think they, you, are the reason republicans are against Obama care than you have another thing coming. Republicans are, as they have always been, more concerned with saving money for huge corporations than they are with saving money for small business owners and the hardworking middle class. And frankly, democrats are more concerned with looking for those same corporations. Neither side is really looking out for the hardworking men and women who make this country tick.

In addition, the guy that got the big raise... Previously he told me, he'd have to get a $10K a year raise to cover his insurance costs if he went over the threshold of losing his government provided coverage... Not only do the rich play the system for everything it's worth, even the lower end people are wise enough to make sure they don't make too much or they'll lose their benefits. The people in the middle are the ones getting screwed the worst, they don't have the big tax write-offs and they make too much to qualify for gov assistance. I'm referencing family incomes of $50K to $75K...

Exactly. How would a "traitor" be buried at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. with four F-18s in V shape formation in honor of passing of the fallen aviator?

John McCain was a hero. Thank you for your service, Sen. McCain!

Why is he considered a hero? George Patton was a hero. Pat Tillman is a hero. What did John McCain do that deserves hero status? He was captured, picked up the nickname Songbird John. I don't mean to degrade him, he served his country admirably and himself very well.
