 I am not in support of terrorism of course but I dislike how the US sides with a guilty party and actually makes the situation worse. We supported Israel and were a large part in giving them this area in which it was not ours to give AND worse without consulting other people who were there much much longer and who have thousands of years of history being at war with Israel, this is part of the reason why many countries in this region HATE us, because we blindly sided with their enemy without considering what ALL felt was fair and what everyone agreed was best...we just went in and forced the situation and that was/is wrong.

There are many aspects of Hamas that is terrible, many aspects of their religious beliefs which make me sick to my stomach and abuses that go on to women, minorities, gays, different religions etc etc but all that aside it is not correct to force others into a decision which they do not make and which causes harm to them every single day. This PM is a war hound and does want to kill all of them, he says it himself and that is wrong. If we get into this it will end up very very badly for innocent people and our country.

Thirdperson is a robot . Democrats are falsely labeling him as a living breathing human entity but I’m gonna exchange my attack on him and his computerized ways and instead I’m going to seek and focus on a more peaceful and caring way to conduct myself , and this is according to me because I just typed it right now . Covers.com members reveal that he may be artificial intelligence that was put together by some kid in his garage MacGyver style using nothing more than duct tape , rubber bands , and some old parts from a non working ColecoVision and that close to 6 billion is a number not anywhere close to what was spent on his construction . You in fact may still believe that he is a biological organism native to this planet but trust me he remains cold hard steel and plastic that doesn’t benefit from feelings or emotions like you and I do , but then again he doesn’t suffer from them as well , oh yeah , and he also has the rubber bands and the duct tape that I spoke about earlier that keep him bound all together like you put on a broken wiffle bat that is dying and dead and cracked but that you’re still trying to hang on to and use and keep playing with , but you don’t have enough in the Bank to buy a new one and you haven’t found any buried treasure so unfortunately you’re screwed in that department so you’re stuck with that piece of shit bat . Trump administration on a completely separate note has nothing at all to do whatsoever with Flock of Seagulls smash 80s hit “ and I Ran “ so run far away from that belief if you’re still holding on to that . Instead go out and be the consumers that you were bred to be and withdraw your funds from whatever mattress or piggy bank that you have them stored in and continue to purchase goods or services that are frivolous and that you absolutely do not need or want . This will make you a humanitarian . God bless you . This post will self destruct in 5 minutes .

Wally, seriously, go read the twitter files.  I had a nice thread on them back in the day summarizing the meat of the story, I'll try to find it for you.  

Perhaps "free speech" is not the apt term needing to be addressed.  How about, "government censorship".  Before you point to Dorsey or Musk, please know that both Trump and the Biden administrations put restrictions of information & censorship.  Requests for "bans" were not partisan, although one regime was much more impactful in getting their requests "handled" (easy to guess which one).  If you really want to educate yourself and know what you are talking about here then you must read the Twitter files.   

Here is some of Dorsey's comments on his time before he left in 2021... 

Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey has taken full responsibility for the social media platform’s many failings — admitting he “completely gave up” pushing back against powerful activists in the company.

The site’s former CEO took full “blame” in a blog giving his “take” on the “Twitter Files,” which have exposed a series of extraordinary behind-the-scenes maneuvers buckling to political pressure, starting with censoring The Post’s exclusive exposes on Hunter Biden’s laptop.

He now believes that Twitter should have stuck to three core principles, including keeping the company out of controlling posts and algorithms spreading them — and being “resilient to corporate and government control.”

“The Twitter when I led it and the Twitter of today do not meet any of these principles,” Dorsey admitted.

“This is my fault alone, as I completely gave up pushing for them when an activist entered our stock in 2020,” he wrote.

“I planned my exit at that moment knowing I was no longer right for the company,” he wrote of his resignation just over a year ago.

Dorsey did not identify the activist, but the timing matches when investor Paul Singer’s Elliott Management took a $1 billion stake and started moves to oust him as CEO.

In his confessional — which he admitted was too long to share in full on the platform he founded — Dorsey decried the “dangerous” attacks on his “former colleagues.”

“If you want to blame, direct it at me and my actions, or lack thereof,” he wrote, saying he is now “supportive of” the site “needing a fresh reset.”

He said his “biggest mistake” was helping to build tools for Twitter to “manage the public conversation” rather than “tools for the people using Twitter to easily manage it for themselves.”

“This burdened the company with too much power, and opened us to significant outside pressure,” he conceded.

“I generally think companies have become far too powerful, and that became completely clear to me with our suspension of [then-President Donald] Trump’s account” in January last year, he said.

That suspension — only recently overturned by new owner Elon Musk — was “the wrong thing for the internet and society.”

Still, he put it down to “mistakes” being made, still claiming that he believes “there was no ill intent or hidden agendas” in blocking the president.

“Again, I own all of this and our actions, and all I can do is work to make it right,” he wrote.

Now, Dorsey is a “strong believer that any content produced by someone for the internet should be permanent until the original author chooses to delete it.”

“Content takedowns and suspensions should not be possible,” he wrote.

He also addressed “moderation” on the site after the “Twitter Files” revealed how conservative voices were shadow-banned on the site.

“A ‘follow’ action should always deliver every bit of content from the corresponding account, and the algorithms should be able to comb through everything else through a relevance lens that an individual determines,” he wrote, rather than the old system, where staffers were able to manipulate such mechanisms.

Dorsey also made clear that he not only supports the release of the scandalous “Twitter Files” — he wishes Musk would go further and release all the documents rather than just journalists’ takes on them.

“I wish they were released WikiLeaks-style, with many more eyes and interpretations to consider,” he said, stressing that despite all the scandals, “there’s nothing to hide … only a lot to learn from.”

Dorsey has repeatedly backed Musk’s free-speech vision for the site, while warning against the potential woes of one person having such power at the helm.

“I do still wish for Twitter, and every company, to become uncomfortably transparent in all their actions, and I wish I forced more of that years ago,” he wrote.

So if "free speech" is not the proper terminology then Dorsey's last comment might be the best description of what I am talking about....

"transparency" or as Dorsey put it, “I do believe absolute transparency builds trust.”  This was not the case with Twitter 1.0.   

Now what kind of algorithm is Musk using now?  Could it be one that promotes one side of a view point over the other?  Idk, but from a user experience, and hate to use the recent outbreak of War, but the coverage and viewpoints from either pro/anti Israel and pro/anti Hamas are equally seen.  Maybe because I follow user accounts from the wide range of political and ideologic outlooks, which could make the algo more balanced versus if I only followed certain sides.  Again, Idk, only anecdotal.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Sunday the $6 billion in Iranian funds expected to be unfrozen in the U.S. prisoner swap with Iran have remained unspent, pushing back against suggestions that the Biden administration’s deal may have contributed to Hamas’s recent attacks on Israel.

“The facts are these — no U.S. taxpayer dollars were involved,” Blinken said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “These were Iranian resources that Iran had accumulated from the sale of its oil that were stuck in a bank in South Korea. They have had from day one, under our law, under our sanctions, the right to use these monies for humanitarian purposes.”

“From one account to another in another country to facilitate that use,” Blinken continued. “As of now, not a single dollar has been spent from that account.”

Maintaining there is not yet any evidence showing Iran directed the attacks against Israel, Blinken pointed to the “long relationship” between the country and Hamas.

“There’s a long relationship between Iran and Hamas,” Blinken said. “In fact, Hamas wouldn’t be around in the way that it is without the support that it’s received from Iran over the years.”

In a separate interview on NBC’s “Meet The Press” on Sunday, Blinken was pressed on whether Iran used other funds to support the attacks in anticipation of the funds being unfrozen.

“Iran has, unfortunately, always used and focused its funds on supporting terrorism, on supporting groups like Hamas,” Blinken said. “And it’s done that when there have been sanctions. It’s done that when there haven’t been sanctions.

There are other sources as well with same info….. point is, If I have $6 bill I’m sitting on and plan on using half of it for hookers and blow, someone tells me they are giving me another $6 bill but I can only spend it on vitamins and bottled water….. guess what, the half I was saving for my own vitamins and bottled water is going to more hookers and blow….see how that works….money is fungible, interchangeable on that pathways it can be used.

 Have you noticed that a day doesn’t go by without MAGA Republicans not having some major concern regarding the Biden administration! Then sprinkle in Hunter Biden’s misdemeanors that did not make our country vulnerable,Not once has Any Republican brought up Jared Kushner’s wonderful “New York Minute” peace agreement in the Middle East ? He sure as hell got a boatload of cash as a result of it.But it hard to forget Trump sharing credit with Kushner who oversaw foreign policy in the Middle East w/no foreign policy expertise or even a proper security clearance which can be said about many of the “ What’s in it for me “ people Trump personal hired with great fire works & accolades about there abilities only to fire them wishing he could send them to Hell after books were written ! 
  My opinion is Kushner did nothing but help the crown princes cleanse dirty imagine as cold blooded murderer and broker top secret classified American documents to our enemies and got paid a bankroll on the back end . Now tell me what he could do honestly to earn 2 Billion dollars that hundreds of others could do better for less investment wise ? How come no Republican wants to know about 2 billion dollars yet Hunter gets paid a 1 million for a job on the board and  it’s been the only agenda of works the Republican lead house can do in a year ……Which has more Smoke “ If your looking for Smoke “ to help find one find the fire!

Did you intend to address this to me?  If so, why?  I have not really addressed or contrasted these situations.  Are you asking my opinion on all of this or are you just making a blanket statement and stating your opinion on them?  

I would ask what exactly you base your opinion(s) on?

All of what you said is what I also said, my point wasnt that there was not a narrative/agenda with Dorsey I am saying that is the right of the CEO and management, they for whatever reasons they had took action and they were fully within the law as a corporation to do what they did. 

What I said and keep saying is the narrative now exists with Musk, it is different but there are influences and biases and he most certainly has an agenda and as a private company he likely can hide more than Dorsey could as a public entity. As you mentioned, free speech is a lovely patriotic term being thrown around and that term is impossible, inaccurate, misleading, judgmental, partisan and stupid. To imply that Musk cleaned up the Dorsey biases and now it is free speech and we love Musk is such a joke it makes me wonder if people really lack even remedial intelligence to think and post stuff so dense as that.

The reality is if you dont like the agenda that Dorsey had with Twitter, STOP USING IT...same goes for Musk. I wont support most anything that clown is involved with and that is my right as a citizen, so I am not forced to have any involvement with a scuz like Musk, and you also are not forced to use Twitter or any platform if you disagree with the way it operates. If you think something or someone is breaking the law then seek out the legal avenues to uncover and fix it. Isnt that what we are supposed to do as citizens?

That is absolutely WRONG , and you make the same damn mistake when you try to "educate " the users on this forum.

 What is wrong with saying avoid a site you dislike?

I would NEVER join ultra conservative sites like ZH or Trump's group, or really any group. I do not have membership on ANY political forum or board, this site is not a political based place but it is the closest I get to discussion and for good reason.

I would also never join a site like TikTok and I do not have an account on Musk's playground, so what is your issue with me saying to avoid what you dislike? I cant stand plenty of things and I try to avoid those things which are too much for me to participate in and are not adding to my life. 

Dorsey has his agenda and he was not breaking the law with the way he ran his company, same goes for Muxk...and in both cases I avoid that and steer clear of toxic waste content.

Because people should be able to speak freely on any site !!!!! Not search for one that will accept them !

 Free speech is a mirage, it does not exist. Twitter is a voluntary site, you can go there or not it is your choice. You cannot force Dorsey to follow what you think is free speech no more than I can do the same to Musk.

People cannot and should not speak freely because they cannot and be respectful to a general society. Human nature makes "free speech" impossible

The West is led by weak cowardly leaders. The world is a very dangerous place. Bad actors view empathy, tolerance, inclusivity, and kindness , wokeness , as a form of existential weakness. The right approach is to always be kind as a default value but be immeasurably ruthless when need be. This is the lesson of history.
