Media matters reveal Fox news is recklessly encouraging House republicans to engage in debt ceiling hostage taking to force policy changes that Americans don't want.  For examples, spending cuts to social security, medicare, veteran benefits, education, research and others.

Created by congress,  debt ceiling's impractical goal of limiting deficit spending has never been achieved.  In over 50 years, debt ceiling has been increased over 60 times because of legal obligations.  Instead of spending cuts, history shows deficit reduction is best achieved by more tax revenue via economic growth.  Since debt default would be disastrous, artificial debt ceiling is useless and potentially dangerous for US economy.

"Biden did NOT have the authority to declassify documents that were classified in his position of Vice President during the Obama administration. Only the President can declassify, classified documents, not the Vice President. So why were these documents in his possession?"

House Republicans are launching an investigation after Biden’s attorneys found classified documents dating back to his years as vice president at his private office in Washington D.C. and in the garage of one of his Delaware homes.
The revelation has prompted comparisons between Biden's case and the discovery of classified records at former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in August 2022.

But this claim is wrong about the nature of Biden's classification power.

Disgraceful that Fox news hasn't done a damn thing about improving gun safety for decades, but instead falsely claims mass shootings in California prove that gun laws don't work.  Actually, California has one of the lowest rates of gun deaths in the US.    Its rate of mass shooting is below the national average.  Problem is that guns are easy to obtain from other states.  Compared to Japan or England, California has among the weakest gun laws in the world.  US has the highest gun homicide rate among major nations.

Widest selection of news sources in history increase difficulty of distinguishing between good and bad journalism.  Disturbing that many people get their information from unreliable sources.  Oxford study reveals that social media and far right sources dominate deliberate use of fake news.  Pew research found that in 2021, 78% of democrats and 35% of republicans trust national news sources.  34% of democrats and 19% of republicans trust social media.  Key difference is that democrats tend to view a variety of news sources while republicans rely on fewer sources.  Nowadays, constantly searching for better information is needed to determine what is trustworthy.  To have a highly educated country requires trust in science, school and media.

Investigations by capital police board and justice department have cleared the officer of any wrongdoing in shooting Babbitt.  He likely saved the lives of members of congress from attack by rioters.  But Trump, Tucker and Greene want to falsely depict Babbitt as a martyr or victim instead of a criminal.  Babbitt case isn't comparable to police unjustified killing of Nichols.
