We now know that he plans to stop a bipartisan bill the republican majority house already passed unanimously last January to strengthen FIRST AMENDMENT protections for the press, known as the PRESS Act. 

The will of the majority is this bill should pass.

Trump announces 25% tariffs on anything imported from Canada and Mexico.  Trade war risks lower economic growth and employment in US and the world.  Although tariffs could benefit some manufacturers, revenue gains for US companies and government wouldn't outweigh losses to consumers.  No way tariffs could replace revenue loss from income tax cuts.  In Trump first term, tariffs increase taxes by $625 a year per household.  According to Peterson institute, bigger tariffs could cost over $2600 a year.  Shifting tax burden from rich to poor Americans.  Walmart CFO warns of higher prices in the future.  Republican Rand Paul criticizes tariffs because international trade saves every American consumer $7000 annually through lower prices.  Oddly, low information voters elect Trump because of inflation but his economic policies are mostly inflationary.

Au contraire , President Trump was mostly elected to STOP the illegal invasion at our borders ....President Trump on Monday evening announced a 25% tariff on all products from Mexico and Canada until the illegal alien invasion is stopped. Thousands of people are pouring through Mexico and Canada, bringing Crime and Drugs at levels never seen before.

Tariffs won't stop immigration.  US courts have ruled that immigration is not invasion because US is not at war against Mexico.  Under the law, US border cannot be shut down except in a national emergency such as pandemic.  Most illegal immigrants enter US legally but overstay their visa.  This is a civil offense and not a crime.  Most fentanyl is transported by US citizens who are less likely to be stopped at borders.  Immigration has no significant impact on US crime rates because immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than US citizens.  Border cities and those with many immigrants are among the safest in the US.

Insurance is a hot debate right now, not just heath care.  My car insurance went up close to 40% and both drivers haven't had a ticket or accident in 25 years.  Excuse was it's across the board rate hikes, watch the news they said.  Then when you have a claim and if its approved, don't be shocked if you are dropped with no explanation.

I only responded to this thread because Wallstreet said that I need to interact with the posters who end up reporting me to him to begin with, so it is kind of like a holiday with the in laws that you see once or twice a year and your friendly up to a certain point.

In governments run by the super rich,  natural incentive to preserve their wealth by favoring spending cuts instead of tax increases to reduce budget deficits.  However nonpartisan Congress budget office top proposed solutions are on the tax side.  Eliminate all deductions for income tax and impose national sales tax.
