What meaningful legislation does the GOP plan to introduce?

Global warming has contributed to higher insurance premiums and insurers abandoning customers.  Florida meterologist criticizes DeSantis for "don't say climate change" law.  DeSantis wants to ignore science.  He has signed legislation prohibiting heat protection for outdoor workers.

According to yahoo news, House republicans are trying to block 4 million employees from getting overtime pay.  Biden administration new rule requires threshold to qualify for overtime pay to increase from $35,568 to $43,888 a year for salaried employees.  Polls show overtime pay protection is overwhelmingly popular.

A lot of people don’t truly work hard and want more than they’re worth , and solely want to take root in the garden of “ hold me it hurts “ ….

Democrats warn of extremist manifesto "Project 2025" if Trump is re-elected.  This authoritarian playbook proposes radical policies that infringe on basic liberties and violates will of the majority.  Expand presidential power to put US on a path toward autocracy.  Replace professional civil servants with political appointees.  Deploy military for domestic law enforcement.  Turn justice department into instrument of revenge against political enemies.  Restrict abortion and contraceptives.  End independence of federal agencies.  Abolish federal reserve, chamber of commerce, NOAA and education department.  Cut free school meals.  Weaken environmental regulations.  Eliminate full employment from central banking mandate. Stricter work requirements for Medicaid recipients.   Withhold disaster relief for states that don't comply.  Many of the proposals would face legal challenges if implemented.

Center for American progress warns of project 2025 plan to slash federal funding for public transit.  Without funding, cities would be forced to defer critical maintenance of bus and rail system, reduce service or increase fares.  Without quality transit service, millions of Americans would face greater road congestion and delays, higher travel costs and reduced access to jobs.  This would undermine US economic growth and tax working Americans.

Yep, Project 2025 is pretty extreme.

Polls show most Americans oppose most republican policies.  Instead republicans rely on disinformation, ignorance and voter amnesia for political strength.  Their leader Trump doesn't believe in policies except for self interest to gain power and fortune.  He would propose anything one day and change it completely the next.  When Trump was president with republican control of congress, no promised legislation of significance was passed except for tax cuts.

Trump wants to eliminate education department even if that means some states would be worse off.  Problem is poor local and state governments unable to adequately fund schools without federal assistance.  In other countries, students perform better in basic tests because of federal equalization payments based on the number of students. 

education should be run at the state level, just like reproduction rights for women are now.  States have more power than the FED and regional applies with 50 states so "other countries" can't apply here based on the number of future students just let across the border

get used to the classes of 40+ as the norm with language barriers 

I put my house on the market and I am moving to Mississippi. My kids need to see the 10 Commandments in their public school classrooms.

 OK wsCapper, walk me down any scenario where the Ten Commandments are bad for youth growing up?  So, a poster with them in school is bad how?  Let's list them as half can be skewed as religious and the rest are how honest human beings live life.  this is from wiki and try to keep it simple:

1. shalt have no other gods before me

2. not take the name of the lord in vain

3. remember the Sabbath day, keep it holy

here are the life lessons that are not religious in any way, these are morals of good people, and if people don't agree they are just shitty human beings

4. Honour your Father and your Mother

5. Thou shalt not Murder

6. Thou shalt not commit adultery

7. Thou shalt not steal

8. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor

9. Thou shalt not covet your neighbor's house

10. Thou shalt not covet or desire thy neighbor's wife, slaves, animals....

So, 7 commandments or 6 with a 6a are not religious, how is this a bad thing to have in school where a young mind is easily corrupted?  It's not corrupting the mind into a religion, is it?  

These same schools have a k-12 book about trans whatever, certainly this in the realm of sanity, right? Are our schools becoming completely indoctrinated and brainwashed to where a banner/poster of human values is a bad thing?

Christian dogma should stay in the homes of those that believe it, not be forced into public school systems by ultra conservative wacko GOP politicians. THIS is why the idiotic SCOTUS approach fails, the states are morons and cannot properly legislate and protect ALL of the citizens and be intelligent enough to separate church and state.

Of course you agree, what a shock...I am Christian and I would never entertain going to a public school with religious and especially Christian propaganda present.

I could walk into any public school and find multiple things that schools are doing or pushing on the kids, the teachers don't recognize family values only their own wacko beliefs.  I can only imagine how much worse it would be if the teachers were paid a higher wage like these Ivy League professors 

In 1980, supreme court ruled that school displays of 10 commandments are illegal.  It violates US constitution separation of church and state.  Politicians have no business forcing their religious beliefs on kids.  Promoting a single religion is discriminatory against other religions.  Those who believe US was found as a christian nation are wrong.   Louisiana parents backed by American civil liberty union have filed lawsuit challenging controversial law.

 Love that retort...the blame another group to rationalize the screwups of your group. THIS is why states cannot have control without federal involvement, wack job states do stupid things like this and it FORCES the federal government to stop their extreme decisions which are discriminatory and harmful.

Teach religion in your home, it has no place in a public school.

I am not disputing the issue of church and state, nor arguing that you are wrong  about how you feel about the 10 commandments posted in this particular school.  I just wanted to point out that when you take away the top 3 commandments the rest have zero to do with religion or god.  But the 10 are well connected to a certain religion or groups of religion so I understand why some think it shouldn’t be in public schools and that’s probably why they also took Under God out of the pledge.  I was raised catholic but chose not to practice after my first communion, only time I am in church now is for a funeral or wedding.  To me I don't think its a big deal especially since these same schools want to push other stuff that don't really belong in schools either so it's pick and choose for them.

Trump is distancing himself from controversial Project 2025 the MAGA blueprint for a second term.  But former Pence advisor Troye says that is ludicrous.  If re-elected, republicans would attempt to ban abortions and reproductive healthcare.  Dismantle racial justice protection and erect barriers to equality.  Rollback civil rights.  Eliminate education department and divert federal funds to private schools.  Reverse marriage equality and restrict divorce options.  Redefine religious freedom as a license to discriminate.

MSNBC reveals that instead of important work, house republicans want to pass silly bills on home appliances likely to fail in senate.  Opposing improved energy efficiency that could save consumers money and reduce carbon emissions. Apparently G.O.P dislike the hard work of solving real problems with bipartisan solutions. They rather play politics.
