I look at this game as a toss-up. In a close, heated, evenly-matched like this, I look to take the points. The list of recent Jets opponents concerns me...StL, Buf, KC, Oak, Cin...perhaps the Jets are getting too much credit. They went 3-2 ATS in those five games. I think NE may be underrated.
 
But bad weather from what I hear, close matchup...Ill stick with the JETS +3.

UNDER!.... Pats kicker scores 4 field goals again after red zone stops by the J E T S.... add a mix of wind and rain.... plus a little rookie jarvis mixed with Jets rush D... and you have Cassel beating you through the air only to come up short in the red zone...

Geez...Some wiseguys just dump big junk laoding on OVER betting ...Line open @ 40 and keeping climping up to 42.5 now... despite the bad weather ...NFL Network is usually playing UNDER....Both got good Ds.

Ok peeps, here is my play.......
 
I have not had many posts on here however the posts that I have had have for the majority been winning ones. I gave San Fran on Monday night, seemed Fpronk was strongly against that pick I might add.  Now to get down to brass tax, tonights game although the weather is less than spectacular will go over the total. Matty boy is gonna carpet bomb the Jets like we did to Iraq. The jets cannot and will not stop the long ball. Tonight the Pat's defence looks like its pittsburg dressed in patriots uniforms. Farve will throw a touchdown or 2, however he will also give up a fair share with interceptions. My name is firing_bullets, I intend to use a bazooka tonight instead,   PATRIOTS -3.5 AND OVER WHATEVER      PREDICTION :  38-14

Just my two cents worth on this game.  First of all I am a Chiefs fan and I have had to watch Ty Law for the past 4 seasons every game.  Ty is way too old to be on the field, he plays every reciever 10 yds. off the ball.  Cassel will be able to hit 8-10 yd hits all day long and when he decides to go long Ty will be chasing the play from behind.  Next, I remember when the Jets played SD on the road back early in the season and everyone was on NY and Farve and how they were going to sling it around and beat the Chargers.  As you know I was one of those wrong ones and SD whipped the Jets.  This seems about the same to me and here are some points to why I will be taking NE tonight.
 
* I have watched the past 3 NE games and it just seems to me that Matt Cassel is starting to get it a lot more.  It always seems as NE is in 3rd down and long and converting.  This goes back to my Ty Law comment a little meaning NE will be able to do what they want on 1st and 2nd down and still have a good chance of droping a 8 yd. pass in for a 1st all night.
 
* Brett Favre who is a great preimetime performer normally already got schooled in the SD game for trying too hard.  To me its almost like he is trying too hard for a convincing performance rather than one that achieves him the victory.  He will no doubt force some passes in and with the rain his bullet of passes may slip through a couple of times for a couple of turnovers.
 
* This is always the type of game NE wins.  Crappy weather,division lead on the line, and everyone watching.  I know this is a diferent NE team but I feel confident in the home team that I feel has a little more grit and determination than the jets.
 
I would say it will be something like 27-21 NE

every matchup features teams with equal records...make some loot on tight night with the New England Patriots...my only pick so far

Division rivals fighting for the top of the AFC East it's hard to pick a side on a game like this anything can happen. Would like the under due to the weather but Favre had some of his best games in terrible weather so i'm just going to stay away from this one.

Since when does Cassel throw a good long ball?  This is a rivarly game and they are never blowout besides week 1 last year Brady-Moss matchup....

So what makes you think Pats are going to win 38-14.... that is just crazyiness.... it will be raining tonight.... that means the ball will be slick.... when it rains, it makes things wet ... and when things are wet.... they slip .... that means that when Cassell gets a wet snap.... the ball might slip... ... and if the ball slips, its a fumble .... or if he does get rid of the ball, then the receiver has to catch the wet slippery ball.... Who has more experience in bad weather games, Farve or Cassel??? MISMATCH.... the Pats will not be able to throw and catch the long ball... I see Welker being more of a factor than Moss.... And the 4th string Running back won't do well against the Jets TOP RATED RUN DEFENSE....

so you are absolutely out of your mind if you think Pats will score 38.....

they may cover 3.5, but Jets are going to try to set up the run and I believe will be more successful with Thomas out.... also, last time they played, Farve didn't know the offense....

I say this game goes down to the wire....

I live here in Boston and i can tell you all that its cold out and now its getting a little hazzy....expected to rain and its said to be light but i feel some nasty weather coming....and for some reason.....i still like the OVER....i know it sounds dumb but favre is gonna throw up points and that bum cassel might actually get lucky overall im putting all the stars on the Jets +3.5...this is more Favre weather than Cassel weather...Favre is practically playing at home

Not very logical but I can't blame you...you're not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I am still waiting for San Fran to score another 14 points...as I remember theu only scored 24 points and you predicted 38 oh holy one...and 7 of those were from a kick return numb nuts...IMO San Fran got lucky. Still waiting....theme to Jeopardy now playing.

I like the OVER too but you're not concerned with the weather? I've heard and seen anywhere between 70-90% chance of rain and wind.

Hey, I'm just defending myself...I don't appreciate that BS. I've been posting my opinion and up until this week I have been winning more than losing...I make a couple bad plays and suddenly I am attacked...is it my fault these aholes tail me when I lose....Ive won plenty...and I have been playing with the books money for over a month. I don't appreciate the BS and will always defend myself. If defending myself bothers you, I apologize, but I will continue to do so.
