I understand that "law enforcement" is supposed to enforce said laws. What you (and a god forsaken amount of people) don't understand is that every law placed on the books, takes away from the freedom of somebody. some of those are good - you shall not murder another, you shall not sexually molest children, you shall not steal another's property, etc. But most are asinine and hold no valid place in the world except to generate revenue for the state. I'm not against laws at all (I don't believe in a lawless society). I'm against laws that aren't crimes by the previously mentioned definitions I gave. If anyone commits a real crime (and no, jaywalking, loitering, speeding on the highway, etc. are not real crimes), then they should pay dearly for their transgressions. Please don't think that I condone senseless acts of rioting and looting, because I don't. The looters and rioters are committing crimes (based on my definitions) and should pay the price. The key message that I constantly see after situations where a cop kills (justifiably or unjustifiably) a citizen, is that the protesters/media pundits/civil rights activists/etc. call for a system reform of some nature. What these mentally hopeless people aren't realizing is that this "system" they speak of was designed the way it is. The system isn't broke, it's working as government intended it to. Privatize policing. Raise your children with morals and values. Get involved in community policing. Hold yourself and your neighbors accountable.
