i wasnt around covers long enough to appreciate seeing someone betting a $1000 on halves where they are doing the math to figure out what the total be. also the original idea is revolutionary. vegas surely hasnt caught on to this trend yet.

True, the IRS doesn't have agents waiting at your store to count your income, so in the end you can pretty easily get away with not reporting those tips. However, the law says you are responsible for reporting those tips and paying taxes on them. it is in the same circle of legality as paying a babysitter or a neighbor's kid to mow your lawn for 20 bucks. by the extreme letter of the law, those earnings must be reported, but the monitoring on these types of wages is non-existent, because it is reliant upon on unveriable data in the eyes of the IRS.

i honestly think he was being facetious or sarcastic, or at least i hope. if hes being truthful, trust me, only 2-3% of drivers are even doing it, tops.

the delivery charged assessed usually goes straight to the drive as payment for gas. most drivers, such as myself, just kinds throw that into our final tip number but that is the answer to those asking or suggesting that the owner should pay for gas

and for the record, the is no other job where u have to work less and make more. i have been working part time jobs since 15 and have done girl work for a 1/3 of the pay.
i will never quit because i can never imagine agreeing to work some other part time job that makes me do more work for way less money. i have been working there for coming on 2 years, and conservatively, i average 15-17 dollars pure profit per hour. another HUGE benefit of this type of work? only about 40% of our income is taxed as we do not have to claim cash tips.

i work for a local wing and sandwich shop in auburn alabama. our radius covers the entire university and pretty much the whole city.
on an average friday night, i pull in about 130-180 in tips alone. that doe not include $5.25 an hour for what is about an 11 hour shift(4:30pm-3:30am). factor out $25-30 for gas, and about 10% for the cooks, and i probably average, including hourly, 175 for 11 hours of work. as with most high volume delivery places these days because of the cost of gas, there is usually an additional charge for any delivery, and ours is $2.00. of course that is factored into my tip earnings mentioned above. i would say an average tip is anywhere from 2-3 dollars. this factors in all those douchebags that stiff you or give you a 20 dollar bill for an order that is 19.90 and says keep the change, like hes doing me a favor, but also factors in some of the bigger orders where 10% of the order is a 5 or 7 dollar tip. amongst 4-5 drivers a night, we average 30-35 deliveries each. mafioso is right. the urban legend about spitting in food and stuff like that is non existent where i work. if i am given 3 deliveries, based on what is ordered and what part of the city it is going, i know where the higher tips will be, and i will go there first. |

He thought it was a good deal and I had to inform him that it wasn't. It's just not. I don't care if it's the best pizza worldwide voted by the International Pizza Rating Committee (if that were to exist). Newsflash... if it's a pizza chain, it's not that great of a deal. It costs them about a dollar for the ingredients to that pizza and you're paying $12.99. And you can buy cans of pop for nearly nothing per ounce at Sam's Club, Costco, or BJ's if you choose to drink that shït. when your friend is speaking in that context, he could very well be referring to the deal compared to other pizza chains current deals or deals hes seen before. you cant say that its a bad deal based on the fact they charge you 13.00 for a pizza that costs like a dollar to make. if they were to set their retail rpize at any sort of ratio relative to their costs, no business would turn a profit. they set their prices based on market factors. you are kind of looking at your friends comments close-minded, which probably annoys them to boot, of course if your addressing your displeasure vocally

I am from Auburn and passed the scene multiple times tonight. 2 players are confirmed dead while one remains in critical condition. truly dramatic scene there the whole night. like something you would see out of a movie. i work about a half mile from where this happens.
from the grape vine, i heard the motive may have had to do with a dispute earlier at the student act center over a pick up basketball game. was drinking a few brews at the pool not but 20 feet from one of the bodys yesterday afternoon. unbelievable. rest in peace ladarius phillips and ed christian.
