Thought i would pop my head in here and see what's up.....not a whole lot of activity like the old days :( Info over the years has certainly changed and how we get it, but I am an excel junkie at heart and love the sheets Degen starting me off with. Still use them daily for my daily capping. I updated the "Super System" sheet for 2024, I find it useful to quickly look at matchups and trends, and use the qualifying plays to further cap in deciding what plays i want to make. I find it useful in identifying teams avoiding the sweep and revenging a sweep. Systems 1 and 3 are always productive and qualify for the most plays but are always a bit juicy, if I like the pitching matchup, I play them with odds of <-150 by going with the -1 or -1.5. This year it takes quite a bit longer to run the daily update (~8-10 minutes) due to a few website restrictions but gets the job done while you enjoy your coffee. If you can use it as a tool or it helps create your own ideas, enjoy! I hope it works correctly and hopefully I got all the formulas correct but cant promise anything :) here is the link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/128KXYyZlaSgglJN3A1DmX0jWmRhBuFQ7/view?usp=sharing |

RunninRebel, I updated the link with this years. I hid system #4 as i did not update the L3 years in ballpark info as i don't use it for any of the capping I do. Hope it helps you with yours. Qualifying picks for Systems #1 & 3 have been doing pretty well. Personally I pick and choose the qualifying picks from those systems after some minor personal capping of the teams/trends/spots. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9UBaNk9s7UjMnFuNXlDWUM4cVE/view?usp=sharing |

jaker,
Good luck with this idea this year. Hope it works out for all of us. If you or any others like to use excel as a tool, i built a simple sheet that will identify qualifying dog picks (FIP filter difference from Stoffo), and allow you to choose the 2 games for the Parlay. You can add bets to tracker and follow or bet the singles as well as parlays. I find it a good way to keep archives etc. Pretty simple, click today and click update each morning....add bets to tracker enters game in tracking sheets. You can manually enter games in tracking as well if a slight difference from your picks you post. Figured a few could use as a tool if they like or want to build off it for their own. Although I cant guarantee this is 100% accurate as I just use it as a tool, here is a link to Degen's/my modified updated sheet for 2018 if you want to use as well. It does take a good 10-15min to update and sometimes gets hung up when updating so could frustrate a few. I usually close and try again if you get the debug error or if you know a bit of vba i run modules separately and seems to work ok. If any manually cap these systems and see glaring issues let me know and I can try to fix if its in my excel knowledge realm https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ALeX6he0ZtHPxUsQiZmJLKAfynOzyWoX/view?usp=sharing |

As Kapt'n pointed out, all the props to Degen who provided awesome sheets & info to build off of. Stick,
This will be the first year to truly test and track the home/road theory. In years past I utilized the thoughts of DR24 and CKP's MLB second half ideas and incorporated them throughout the year in NHL. I moderately played the qualifying games on my top pick labby lines last year and noticed success. I certainly kept an eye on games as they arose and identified that there was a possible edge. This year will give true results. Back testing is more difficult to get a true number as top and bottom teams and PWR rankings vary throughout the year and on a day to day basis. A quick test, just to see if there was some proof that the concept will profit was using top and bottom teams on how they finished the year, this shows really good, but will not reflect end results I will see this year. Time will tell and hopefully it can show some profit. GL

Yesterday since the Kings play there next 4 @ Home vs Cgy, Buf, NYI & MTL, I chose to play the Kings, since they lost I will follow up with them vs BUF.

I use one other filter on the plays I make and that's personal discretion. That being said I would guess I play about 80-90% of the games identified. The sheet helps me identify plays but if other capping tools and trends makes it not feeling right with me, I dont play them. The $100 is for simplicity, but yes my labby uses 0.25 of a unit (X4) on each line or 1% of starting BR as a first bet on the progression until the line is clear. GL

Here is the link to the sheet with a few systems I will play this year with the ability to track the bets that are placed to determine their successes/failures. If you would like to utilize it for your own tracking or developing your own theories/systems its a good tool/template to start from. Pretty easy to use, click "today", click "update". By clicking the "add bets to tracker it will put the games identified into the appropriate tracking tab. If you don't play those games you can simply clear the cells on the appropriate tracking tabs or insert the games you do play. At the end of games you can fill the results in with either a "W" or a "L". Let me know if you identify any bugs or have any questions if you choose to use this tool. I am sure the sheet will require a few adjustments as time goes on and I will update the link with current results and as adjustments are made.

Oil,
I do not pull data from baseball reference in this sheet, but do from the "Super System" one posted in other thread. It pulls from VBA, rather than a connection and was created by DEGEN . GL

Thanks Oil.....didn't hide anything that i see? i downloaded from link and see it from my end. Not sure but when first download you would have to click on top of excel "enable editing" button, followed by "Enable Content" button for macros. Not sure if that is the issue or not but could be?

This is the spreadsheet with a few systems I use to track and calculate the plays I make throughout the MLB season. The top pick Labby's are personal capped games I chose and track, usually from other systems found on these forums. This year I am also going to play and track a 2TP progression using the calculated TOPVRPI & TOPDOG as picks. Historical results over past few years look positive to hopefully add a few units to the cause. The sheet can be used as is or modified with a little excel knowledge to your own system thoughts. Last years thread will have results from 2016 if you want to check it out. a profit/loss graph can be seen by clicking on the header of each system on the summary tab from last years sheet. GL
