(Gotta check my YTD #'s but I'm doing okay at best rn)
I'm a little late but my picks so far are: Hawaii @ Army over 63 USC (+3) - Yes I know it's a risk taking the freshman QB on the road but I think Helton is a bit underrated and Herman is somewhat overrated (I'll admit, I thought Herman would be a great fit for Texas and still do, but Texas is not 'Texas' yet). BOL my friends. More picks later

Starting with my degen pick,
TCU @ SMU (Under 51) Honestly don't see a lot of scoring after last week. - Feels like the heart break SMU's last game against the mean-green and TCU's blow out against that high-school team plus add the 'rivalry' aspect and swoosh it around in your cauldron. After the smoke settles, what do you see? I think both teams will keep it close in the 1st half then TCU will run off with it... but by 23.5 points? Not confident either team will cover or not cover that one, but I do feel like with TCU's next game and SMU's last game, neither team is really focusing on this one.. Under 51 for Le Chach. YTD (2-4) Rough night with Miami. Tonight's got two picks: 1. Virginia Tech +7.5 2. Over 55 (jumped on this one late but I'm confident VT will run the first half and Taggert and co. will make second-half adjustments that lead to points). Best of luck, Gentlemen!

(0-1) YTD. That Hawai'i game was wild.
Little late start today but here's the slate - sorry for no write up, my a.d.d. has me hooked to my two tv's. 1. Scar (-29.5) 2. Tenn (+10) 3. Kentucky (-17.5) 4. Alabama (-24) (Am looking into Troy +10 but the talent they lost LY was the major reason they had that DD win season) - might be fade material. BOL Gentlemen! CFB is finally here

First time starter Cole McDonald deemed starter though Chevan Cordeiro could also see the field - USA today
I'm still not placing much stock in Bobo's absence or Hurricane Lane hitting the islands - they just got over weeks of heavy volcanic activity.

Thanks gentlemen!
** I forgot to note that Preston Williams is a wide-receiver not a QB. Although he is not highly touted in Mr. Steele's magazine, my opportunity to watch him play at Neyland Stadium me the ability to see his potential. BOL fellas

Colorado State (-14) vs. Hawai'i :
First off, wait a day or two for the line - It might shift a half or even a full point because of HC Bobo's medical leave this week. I'm not too shaken by this as CSU is done with contact drills/scrimmage ... now the players hit game film and prep for the Rainbow Warriors with the assistant coaches. A couple major reasons to fade my pick: CSU is the least experienced team #130/130 right below Hawai'i which I believe is around #126/130 teams based on player experience. Their head-coach is in the hospital only 11 days before their first big game. On top of that, they play Colorado only 6 days after that... will CSU's team be focused on this game or will Bobo's absence lead a disciplined yet young team, to start becoming overly enthusiastic and focus on their rival on the 31st and not their first game (a gamblers nightmare). A few solid reasons to take CSU (-14): I am a Vols fan who was upset at Jancek's (CSU new DC) departure because I have seen how he can bring out talent in players (something Butch Jones preached about himself but seldom did). In addition, I like the fact that the supposed starting QB is making great strides to recover from his torn ACL in March and is playing strong according to coaches (despite playing non-contact downs obviously). The QB competition between him and the Washington grad-transfer QB should be very exciting. Preston Williams (A Tennessee transfer) is undoubtedly one of the best skill-players in this position as illustrated in his short (yet successful) tenure at UT. - Despite losing a lot of talent, I see it extremely difficult for Hawai'i to rebound into a successful season after losing majority of their talent due to the new transfer rules (Phil Steele says only 1 starter returns on offense). Add in the fact that there is a new OC/DC implementing a new style of offense (run and shoot) and new style of defense. What really hurts the Rainbows is that Hawai'i lost their Special Teams coach to the Houston Texans this year as he was the jewel of their crown. The odds are stacked heavily against Hawai'i and Bobo's doctors reported that he will be okay and should be ready for game-day on the 25th. Best of luck, Covers Brothers! May we all profit this season and more importantly, have fun My prediction : CSU 30 - Hawai'i 13

Hawaii has a new OC & DC. Lost majority of last year's talent due to transfer. Is dealing with a stadium that's falling apart while the state is managing heavy volcanic activity. Oh yeah, back to the team - they're implementing a new offense with the "run & gun" which is fun to watch but takes time to perfect. I love the Rainbow Road Warriors but I'd rather stay away from that game for right now.
BOL regardless

Bovada has taken a turn for the worse. The new layout looks alright but they got rid of the option to search games and trying to place a wager on your mobile device is like pulling teeth.
They pretty much tried to copy 5dimes and failed. In fact, I'm looking for a new sportsbook after being loyal to them for almost four years. BOL finding the right one for you, don't use Bovada.

An interesting article for those who are interested. I'm very excited to see Kongbo play in his new position now that he's lost all that weight. It is safe to say that given the hand he was dealt, Pruitt is working his tail off to put these young men in the position that they are fit best/poised to succeed the most & I can see the Vols reaching 6-6 this year. Would love to hear y'all's thoughts, opinions and critiques |
