in Politics @cdog8043 Hmmm, I seem to remember Jeff Sessions who thought he would be fired every week, Scott Pruitt who's ethics weren't his strong point, Rick Perry who wanted to abolish a department but couldn't remember which one, Betsy Devos who never visited a public school while Secretary of Education & let's not forget my favorite Ryan Zinke & many more. Not all cabinets are great but the one this POS is putting together is dangerous because they lack expertise in fields they will lead. C'mon Linda McMahon for Secretary of Education. Shit even DeVos knew a little about school systems. Dr. Oz? Get Real Things are going to get very interesting. |

@TheBlackKnight You made me laugh when you mentioned "horse watering websites." I had never heard that term. In racing you just never know. For example, a race comes off the grass & you get 3 scratches & 2 AE horses get into the race. Right away, the AE's are "live" to me & now have to decide if those still in the race like the dirt/synthetic or the horse just really needs a race. The limited breeding knowledge I have came to me over the years. I've always been a big fan of Frosted & Distorted Humor. Also like Speightstown. Then you have workouts & how much do they really tell us. Asmussen is infamous for not showing anything in workouts & then bang has a 1st timer win with ease. Another data point I watch is the hot owners. Lately, I've been playing Klaravich, Flying P Stables, Repole & a few others. Just more data to screw with our heads. I absolutely suck at Tampa but I just keep swinging away. I see Gallardo is back for the winter & the Camacho/Gerald Bennett combo is always something to check out. If I see anything at Tampa or Churchill, I'll certainly post it. |

in Politics Trump says he's nominating Dr. Oz to run the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, or CMS. I guess the other fraud, Dr. Phil, wasn't available or is holding out for a better position. But then again, Gary Bussey turned down his offer because he didn't like the dental plan offered & Kid Rock wants to be Head of the Liquor Cabinet. You Can't Make This Shit up! |

in Politics Appearing on a Christian nationalist podcast last night, Pete Hegseth said he's creating a system of "classical Christian schools" to provide recruits for an underground army that will eventually launch an "educational insurgency" across the nation. Sounds like the American version of the Taliban. This isn't a Christian nation. It's a nation where you are free to be Christian. WTF??? |

@wildwelder303 I use TwinSpires for track conditions. But frankly before I even look at the conditions, the scratches immediately give me a clue that the conditions will not be fast & firm. I also know that tracks are upgraded/downgraded as the racing day takes place based on the drying out caused by rain, sun & wind. We all check horses for their breeding & past performances on "off" tracks but what do we do when horses have never raced over that type of surface & that's the conundrum I have in making a selection. And then a horse with no off track data or breeding clues wins going away like Secretariat. Unless I'm really Jonesing for action, I'll stay away from playing a race based on track conditions.

@TheBlackKnight Even though she had to go wide to pass the leaders, I thought she was home free but I saw the winner gobbling up the track & knew she was going to get caught. It was the first time Joe Ortiz has been onboard but I didn't see him do anything wrong other than him taking her into the 4 path & keeping her out there down the lane. She was heavily played with 93k bet on her to win. Catalano has the winner, Ghostly Girl, is in good form & that was her 3rd winner in a row. |

@fubah2 Thanks for finding this thread. I appreciate it. In fact, somewhere else in another thread he tried to weasel out of the bet by telling me that I would miss posting in the Horse Forum & we could call off the bet. I declined to call off the bet. nature 1970 tried to play a conciliatory role by asking me to call off the bet so that neither of us would have to leave COVERS. Again, I declined. Thanks again for setting the record straight.

How about Sage Steele as Press Secretary? After Sean Spicer, Huckleberry & I'll Never Lie To You Kayleigh McEnany, the bar is pretty low. Shit, she took a shot at President Obama's dad not being in his life so Steele would fit right in the administration. Problem is she has 2 things against her.
