Windy rainy game, bodes well for a team averaging over 350 rushing yards a game. Bowling greens defense is absolutely awful, but their high flying offensive attack is mostly through the air. It won't be easy to pass the ball in 20 mph winds. Also love the fact that Georgia southern didn't show up at all for their last game of the season. Gives them extra motivation. Taking Georgia southern +7 tonight for 5 units. Also throwing a 5 unit parlay in both to win 12.5, feeling very confident in these picks Hearing Graham is actually playing for NIU today? Hahaha too funny when people comment like that. Especially when someone is so successful overall!!!
I got my teeth kicked in on both of these games as well. The funny thing is I actually loved the games right away before the write ups which I was quite proud of myself for choosing some teams that you like which is a huge compliment to you of course. Brutal showing by both teams but have to keep it going! The hurricane going through the South has to favor the under tonight in the GA Southern/BG match up. I just cannot resist it. After seeing what a little time off does to these timing offenses I think the 1H will be very low scoring and you leave yourself open to the infamous MEGA LOCKS BETTE MIDLER!!!! I know teases are not your thing but with the weather grabbing GA Southern +13 and u70 seems like a very good value play.
I know you were waiting for the weather so what are your new thoughts on this game today, fine sir? |

I would have felt guilty about a USF outright win and would have considered myself lucky if we got the 3 point push. Just was more curious if any of the stuff I covered about officials and smaller conferences ever influences your picks? I imagine it is VERY hard to quantify but maybe someone has done it before...

The first series they rushed to the line on 3rd and inches and threw the ball!!! At the end of the game he declined the holding penalty and then called a timeout when everyone knows the clock stops on the penalty and he could have saved the timeout (unless that's just NFL)! Just a couple of the many mistakes by USF. Easy to play Tuesday morning quarterback but good learning lesson for us. I agree with you Mega, bowl games are a different beast and the time off was not a good thing for USF. They were on a roll and got almost a month off. No bueno. However, I still think it was a great value pick and would take USF 99/100 times. One thing that clearly comes into play and I need to keep in mind. The officiating is always terrible in these games. They got MAC officials and while it should be the same for both teams it exposes the bettor to more risk and more chance. Also I feel like all the camera angles that were used on reviews/challenges were terrible. Do low budget games like these get fewer cameras or something? I might start looking into low budget games and officiating for these games to see if there's an edge! ha

They sputtered into the end of the season with two lopsided losses to Baylor and Oklahoma. Not saying Ole Miss is ALL THAT but they finished the season strong and unlike most SEC teams they can put up points. The line is correct and I lean Ole Miss in the game. Bowls always tricky though. Last year's game was fantastic Memphis/BYU tons of scoring - a lot of hatred - and a big Memphis comeback leading to a 47239087857289345 STAR Megalocks winner. Many other popular power ratings have WK as a much bigger fav in this one - we have seen as high as 10/10.5 so maybe we are peeing into the wind. Maybe not. We have had our eye on S Florida for a while. They finished the season on quite a roll....Whipped Temple at home putting up 556Y in the process.....Then they destroyed Cincy at home - putting up another 561Y....they led 51-3 at half....Cincy was point shaving as per usual with 6 turnovers early but SFlo looked good....They finished with a 44-3 pasting of UCF. Flowers has the potential to be really special at QB and he and Mack have combined for over 2100Y rushing and 18 TD....They only rank #105 in passing yards but they are 21st in efficiency....Very crisp and balanced offense do not think they will have any problem moving on WK. WK is excellent in turnover margin but SF is also very good in that regard. Defense is ranked #33 vs run and #26 in pass eff D....Have the speed to matchup well vs WK and they proved they could handle good passing teams vs Memphis (gave up 24) and Cincy was unable to do anything until the game was decided. USF should be plenty motivated and have the edge here - or at a minimum - we feel it is even. First bowl game in 5 years for South Florida and they have to be jacked to grab momentum going into 2016. WK won CUSA. Playing USF. As a favorite. In Florida. Not a great spot for them but they did not win 11 games by accident. Doughty is a great QB. He had 45 TD passes and just may end up with over 5000Y this season. Against a D with a pulse - and away from home - think SF gets more stops on D than WK. USF HC Willie Taggart goes up against his old team. Interesting matchup. It has been a long time - left after 2012 - so once again - if anything this provides a motivational edge - players will go hard for the HC. Just my opinion. We read that former USF White is with WK maybe giving them some intel. Different offense this year. From what we read that should not be a problem - but don't say we do not scour the internet for our DOUBLE PLATINUM PREMIUM subscribers. GL....mega MEGA, how do we feel about a TT over for South Florida? There won't be many stops in this game and if Western Kentucky does cover you have to think they will need to put up a big number. Maybe do equal volume on South Florida and TT over so if Western Kentucky covers you push? Only thing I don't like is the time off for South Florida because they were hot, hot, hot but riding them today either way.

Hey Suuma, good work yesterday. I don't really tail people and focus a lot of my energy on College Football but have really appreciated your insight and hardwork when I have time to visit your thread. Was actually looking for your stuff last week and based on this thread I can see why you took a break. Just remember, the amount of people that appreciate your stuff FAR outweigh the others and anyone who follows your picks blindly deserves everything they get and doesn't deserve an opinion.
Anyway, not sure if you accept requests but going to request because I have some questions for you that I don't want to clog this thread with. Good work!

So, this sparked my interest and I watched them again in the Vandy game... It was like they went full retart... They were not tackling well at all, they weren't hitting... So, this tells me that either A, Georgia just sucks and doesn't match up well with them(don't think so because of Vandy), or maybe they just decide to show up in certain games and not others, we will see... To be honest. That was the best defensive game they played and maybe one of the most dominant defensive performances from a statistical standpoint this year in the SEC so I am not sure if its just because the offense is a joke that you felt this way... They gave up 175 total yards and 74 of those yards came with 20 seconds left in the 1st half when the ref put on a RIDICULOUS block on Florida's safety or linebacker. Vandy was trying to run out the clock!!! The replay is quite humorous if you want to dig it up. There was a big hole and the LB was about to make the tackle and ref crushed him! Just to be clear, Vandy probably has the worst offense in the entire nation so I am not bragging about this one bit but I will tell you that both Florida AND Alabama have benefitting from playing terrible offenses. Lets just agree Alabama is the better team which should be easy and end this madness? haha

When you can't keep someone contained for 4 quarters that just does not say much for your defense, however during the LSU game FourNOT did not seem to have any problems rushing on them and I think our offensive line and Derrick Henry are better, especially at this point in the season. I would love to see Henry get challenged and this be a competative game in the first half and I think it could be, which is why I did not take the 17, I teased it with Clemson(which I kind of regret now that I think about it), but I do not know if it will... As for their secondary.. Their numbers look good because they are in the East... East Carolina lit them up for 250 and 3 TD's, Ole Miss 260 and a TD, even Brandon Harris got 200 and two TD's, South Carolina as well, FAU 160 and a TD, FSU as well... Coker is not the best QB in the SEC, but he is not to be underestimated, he has made some huge plays as of late, he is the leader of this offense, and has a game winning drive under his belt, and he has Calvin Ridley, one of the best freshmen receivers in the country right now. Very good stuff and great points. Fournette did run all over Florida in Death Valley basically from start to finish. I just don't put a lot of stock in Cook's garbage yardage and TDs. FSU just flat out broke Florida's will which was a lot easier than it should have been but FSU benefited from 4 previous weeks of Florida's defense having to bail out the Florida offense. I was a pitcher in college. I would equate it to giving up 1 run in 4 consecutive starts and going 0-4!!! Even though they won the games it still took its toll. Now the offense gets smacked up by FSU's defense and the pressure is all on Florida's defense to manufacture points. How crazy is that? As for the passing yardage those numbers don't seem too impressive to me and if we play the comparison game Ole Miss' Kelly threw for 341 against Bama. Granted, a quarter of that yardage came on that BS prayer he threw up!!! Bottom line is these are TWO of the top 10 defenses in the country. Probably give the edge to Alabama if I had to choose but only because of their front 7. Hargreaves will be a top 10 draft pick when he declares and Tabor is supposed to be just as good. The safeties behind them aren't too shabby either. You won't get an argument from me on this game. If Alabama doesn't win I am not sure if there will ever be a more surprising result. Alabama is the better team but Florida's defense is top 10 and the only reason Florida has made it this far.

Maybe just be happy that you have one of the best teams in college football and just keep your comments to yourself? OR so that you don't sound silly maybe use words like "I think" or "I can see this happening"? There are no absolutes in college football, especially the outrageous player props that you are suggesting. NOTHING hits 100% of the time and if it did you wouldn't be on here pushing your Tide Pride because your expert picks would have put you on a private island for the rest of your days. This is not to say Henry cannot do exactly what you are claiming he will do but you clearly didn't watch the Florida/FSU game so your comment cannot be taken seriously here. Alabama IS the better team and almost certainly will win this game. They are the best the SEC has this year for sure. But IF you watched the game you would have seen that almost all of Cook's yards came in the second half after the game was all but over. The amount of time Florida's defense spent on the field and in their own territory because of their offensive woes was alarming. I cannot see ANY defense in the nation or NFL suiting up for 4 quarters when their offense puts them at a distinct disadvantage. Florida is one of the best defenses in the nation based on statistics (which are the only facts we have to go off of) and experts in the NFL have rated their DBs as the best in the nation. If you disagree you can try to get a job with ESPN and broadcast your opinion but I do not think "they suck... bad" will be getting a lot of coverage. I love intelligent conversations so if you can back your statements up at all please put me in my place but let's not take these conversations to places they do not need to go.

The problem is that we typically have a hard time with PAC12 games. I might just be perception - but it seems like the ups and downs of these teams is a bit more erratic and harder to predict unless you are one of the MEGALOCKS INSIDERS that know your PAC12 football. We are getting there but still a lot to learn. What we are getting at is 1) Stanford is much better on offense than you think - scored over 30 points in every game since week 1...Their D has given up the most points/game since their 2008/2009 stretch in which they went 13-12 over a 2 yr span. It is not just their pass D - Kizer was great on the last drive last week but ND ran for 299Y and basically did whatever they wanted all game not sure how they did not score 50....and then in true NFL STYLE - remembered that they were supposed to LOSE like the league office told them - so ACCIDENTALLY let Stanford magically get into FG range with ease to win the game. But we digress. 2) USC is not as explosive as years past but their D is actually not horrible. Ranked #4 in pac12 in yds per play D - Stanford is #6....They also are #2 in sacks/game and Stan is #11. Sooooooooooooo ??? Before we even get into the matchup - seems to us like USC is worth at least a small potatoes lean in this one. We are at a crossroads tho. We love betting on teams that ESPN tells you have crappy QBs. Ya hogan is sooooooooo bad 68% 9.2/attempt - 23 TD 7 int. Not to mention their freak RB. But their D is just too bad for us to play them. Do we play USC ? This is one of our 3-4 nemesis teams we never seem to get right. Beat UCLA handily but were at home and +3 in turnovers. Before that looked pretty avg against arizona and colorado wtf and then gave up over 400 PASSING Y to oregon. FWIW - Stanford off a big win. motivation is not the issue - but letdowns do happen. USC playing a lot looser in this one?? Summary. Lean to USC at +4 or more. Not sure if we are going to play this one officially. Stanford is more reliable overall and have already beat them by 10 this year. Tough call. Also lean over USC TT 27 or better. mega Mega, I like your take on this game. Wanted to add something that I am sure you probably already thought about but doesn't hurt to mention. Oregon absolutely torched USC 2 weeks ago and I was very surprised UCLA couldn't repeat with Rosen and Perkins. Reason Oregon had the success (other than the fact that their offense has been rolling) was because USC was without their top 2 LBs and Oregon was able to maintain a well balanced game plan with Adams and Freeman. I give Oregon credit but watching the game there were TONS of missed assignments by USC. Their defense looked ALL out of sorts against a veteran QB and Hogan is even more battle tested. I think Stanford faced the healthiest USC of the year earlier in the year too. Like I said, I was shocked that UCLA played so poorly but I think Rosen's inexperience came into play a bit because UCLA's defense is bad bad bad so he was forced to put up too many points. I DO NOT think it is because USC is already adjusted to playing without those 2 experienced LBs. I am not sure what to do with the line so might play the over. Just thought I'd add my two cents for the masses.

Yo man! Don't forget about that friend request! haha
Also, your logic for the MSU/Iowa game can be applied to the Clemson/NC game right??? Clemson has been in more PRIME TIME match ups when they faced ND and Florida State. UNC has 2 "prime time" games this season against South Carolina and Pitt and I think that's it. They lost one of those games. Yes, it was earlier in the season and they are a WAY different team but if you look at Williams over his career he seems to be a bit of a choke artist. When the pressure is on and he has to deliver it seems like that's when he commits a turnover or makes a bonehead play. This happened recently against VA TECH and NC STATE as well. The VA Tech one screwed me as it allowed them to cover and put it into overtime. I also think that Clemson is the best defense they will face all season, no? I am shocked Clemson has been giving up so many points this year but I still don't see anyone on NC's schedule that challenges them like Clemson can and has the athletes that Clemson has. Less than a TD, I see value taking Clemson and Watson is pretty special.

This game has the "potential" to go either way but I don't think you can say the wrong team is favored in this game. Clemson will be the #1 team after tonight's playoff committee selection again so on a neutral site the #1 team in the nation will always be the favorite. At the beginning of the season I don't think this line would have EVER been below a TD so I think the value will be taking Clemson. Yes, NC is playing some of the best offensive football in the nation right now but how many primetime games have they played this year? I believe they only played 2 this year and they lost one of them to South Carolina. Only other one being a game against Pitt on a week night, I think? Yes, different part of the season and "different team" but Clemson has been tested a lot more this year and clearly has had the tougher opponents. Clemson caught their toughest test, ND, at a great point of the season and in bad weather and also caught their second toughest test, Florida St, at home during some QB controversy so that's why you can argue NC has a chance. But, Clemson is most likely the better team and the favorite here IMO.

Really funny you started off with that post this week as I wanted to pick your brain a little more on your weekly picks. Sending you a friend request. No worries if you don't have time to chat but figured I'd keep the questions I have for you and some of the other guys I follows off the threads so I don't annoy others or get in the way of some solid sports talk.
