monday is a much trickier day

Germany Portugal - All about how fit Ronaldo is, the Portugese camp are making noises that he's 100%, I hear in reality he's 75%. I like Deutschland even if he was fit. Its rare you see Germany at odds against to beat anybody, the stats speak for themselves, 13 wins out of their last 18 world cup group matches, Portugal have only actually won 1 out of their last 7 world cup games. In head to heads, Germany have won 9 of the last 17 meetings, including the last 3 in 2006, 2008 and 2012.
Yes, germany are missing reus and may play with only Muller upfront but that midfield is the most powerful of any team in this tournament and that is where the game will be won, Germany a confident pick at 23/20

Iran Nigeria - if ever there was a match to watch and not bet in, this is it, the last team either of these won a game at the world cup was in 1998, Iran defend well and will try to play on the counter and if i had a gun to my head, i would play the under but at odds on and with the way this world cup is going, I will sit back and make some notes for next time - no play.

Ghana USA - a classic pick'em - in contrast to the previous game, both teams know each other well, both qualified easily and both have playmakers in their prime, Bradley and Prince Boateng respectively, this is very much win and go home territiory with germany and portugal to come. A draw doesnt really suit either but I think these two cancel each other out and at 9/4 I will have a smallish bet on the draw.
