great to see USA win, I love seeing how this country comes together to celebrate a win.
ok tuesday, the start of "Royal Ascot" so I'll be betting the ponies before the serious business starts!!
Belgium Algeria - Belgium probably the most hyped country at the tournament but you cant deny they have a golden generation of players but they have zero experience of playing in a world cup.
Both teams defend very well, they both only conceded 4 in their respective qualifying campaigns.
Algeria failed to score in the last world cup and they will play in a similar way to how Iran played today. They will make it very hard for Belgium to break them down. The best play for me here is the Under which is 6/5, I can see Belgium struggling a little here and playing better as the tournament progresses.
Brazil Mexico - why are Brazil playing their 2nd game before Russia and Korea even play their first? Feckin Fifa.
Brazil were flattered by the 3-1 win over Croatia, they got decisions and will continue to do so as the host but I like EL Tri to give them a test here, again the refs didnt play ball and it could have been 3-0 against Cameroon. Mexico play well in tournaments and I like how Herrera has his team set up, he's getting Dos Santos to excel, which amazes me as he was toilet at Tottenham.
Mexico +1.5 at evens for me.
Russia South Korea - I'm taking a stance on fading Russia in this tournament, like I said in my group preview, hardly any Russian players play outside their domestic league which is a big hindrance in a competition like this. They last played in a world cup in 2002 so only one player has experience at that level while South Korea hve been to every world cup since 1986 and creditable got out of the group last time.
Interestingly, in each of the last 3 world cups, the Koreans won their opening game, I like them to hit the ground running again and catch the russians cold.
S Korea +.5 at evens is the play as is the ML of 7/2 to a smaller stake.

, I'm really enjoying this world cup, brazil mexico may have been 0-0 but there was still so much drama, you dont need scores for a game to be exciting
Holland Australia - tricky sort of game to 'cap, The Netherlands have done the "hard work" and unless they capitulate against Chile in their last game, its hard to see them not qualifying. Its tempting to say Holland will win this by a cricket score but they'll know everyone will beat Australia so its important to get a result against Chile.
Chile allowed the Aussies a lot of space, their forte is not defending though, if Holland shackle Cahill, Aussie's dont score, safest bet for me here is Holland to win to nil at even money, they conceded just 5 goals in 10 euro qualifying games.
Spain Chile - remember spain lost to switzerland in 2010 and went on to win the world cup. Every team is allowed a bad result. The box score says chile beat australia 3-1 but anyone who saw that game can say australia came close to equalizing and of course chile only got that 3rd goal in injury time, Spain aren't world and european champions for nothing, they make a point here, Spain -1.
Cameroon Croatia - Croatia didnt have a lot of luck against Brazil while cameroon had one shot on target against mexico and but for offside calls, could have lost that game 3-0 at least. Cameroon's last 13 matches against european sides reads 1-7-5 and they've lost 9 of their last 14 games,Bayern Munich forward Mandzukic is back for Croatia and with Modric supplying him, this could get ugly for the Africans. Croatia -1.

I see you are having a real successful tournament so far. Congrats and good luck for the rest. I was wondering if you think Spain is going to put the goal differential that they are down right now and have that as some sort of motivation. They still will probably want to try and finish first so they don't have to play Brazil or do you think they just want to get a victory to just have the opportunity to advance out of the group??

Like a team 3-0 down in a best of 7 series, all Spain will be concentrating on is winning this game against Chile. Its hard not to see Holland winning the group though but from a psychological point of view, I can see Spain wanting to show the world the result against Holland was an aberration. Chile's back four are poor.

Colombia Ivory Coast -I like the Over here, any side can that can put 3 past a blocking team like greece shows they can break down teams well whilst the way Ivory coast bombed back against Japan bodes well for goals aswell. The likes of Bony and Gutierrez would be my lean to score but I'm happy to roll with the Over at a generous 11/10.
Uruguay England - I'd lean the over here as well and pre tournament I wasn't looking at an england win here but things change. Uruguay will miss Lugano and Pereria and I think we have a Portugal/Ronaldo situation here as there's no way Suarez is 100% fit, being he is the talisman of the team, that could be a negative as it was for the portugese. In any case, I liked England's gameplan against the Italians, the young guns of Sturridge, Sterling and Welbeck caused problems, Uruguay couldnt defend against the pacy Costa Ricans, 23/20 England for me.
Japan Greece - this screams Under but thats juiced and to be honest I want to take on the Greeks who were woeful against Colombia and have now gone 6 out of 7 world cup games without scoring. Japan rolled through asian qualifying and I'm lookng to Honda and Kagawa to unlock the greek defense.Japan at 6/5
