packman,  england never do it the easy way do they, i prefer england to the over because if suarez is unfit, forlan is too old now, that leaves only cavani as the threat to score.

champ, not much point playing in these conditions if you're not 100% fit.

LOT of money flowing on England, love the formation Hodgson has gone for, Rooney in the hole with sturridge upfront and welbeck and sterling on the "wings".

Suarez plays but we all knew that but how fit he is, is the million dollar question

Disappointing day for today's bets with England playing schoolboy defense against a half fit striker and then Japan unable to score against 10 men, should have just played the totals but I wanted to avoid juice.

Good day for the futures though, England not to qualify is almost a winner as is Colombia to win the group and with that last game being a draw, my bet of the Ivory Coast advancing furthest of African teams looks solid.

Italy Costa Rica - interesting stat here that in the last 3 world cups Italy either drew or lost their 2nd, thats Italy's mentality to win the game they need and coast. And they'll be very aware a draw puts England out. Costa Rica are a bit of an unknown quantity for me, they wont have the space against Italy they had against Uruguay, I have a nice bet at plus odds on Italy winning the group so for the moment, this is a no play game for me but its likely I'll do something in running.

France Switzerland - both teams on 3 points and I have this as an exacta in my futures bet for the group. France are the likely winner at 4/5 but that doesnt set the pulse racing. I like the Under here at 10/11, both teams are solid at the back and wont take many chances.

Ecuador Honduras - Ecuador are a shorter price than France and make less appeal, both of these wont be going to the KO stages and the side and totals dont appeal. I will play Over 40.5 on cards, so 5 yellows or a red and 2 yellows cash. The way Honduras were tackling the French, this could come in at Half time!

On a sidenote , miss the good old days with a strong English team ,

1990 semi still one of the best games ever

EPL is here now challenged , less mediocre mercenaries or elder statesman , but give your young talents games and experience

1990 world cup was the first one I watched in its entirety, great memories, England should have beaten Germany in that semi, once it went to penalties, we all knew it was over.
The EPL is a great league but only a 3rd of the players are english, the coaching and structure for english players is all wrong but I wont bore u with the details.

But I am going to Costco tomorrow, love that place

It was a classic game, that turned when they carded Gascoigne on that phantom tackle. Yes, England were the better team on the day, but still it was one for the ages.

franz, that defeat haunts englishmen as did the semi final loss 6 years later in euro 96, another of my favorite tournaments
