Van I have a question. Now that you have more of a feel for these teams do you raise your units up much. I'm sure the lines will get tighter as we go. Never saw your thread in the last WC. Oh one other what was the most units you played in the last one.

And Cameron forced to play with 10. Man sent off for what the announcer said was a punch to the back, but not much of one. I didn't catch it. Tough call when the punishment is so devastating to a team. Good news for our Croatia wager, but . . . .

Croatia vs Mexico should be a great game. Croatia in a must win, a tie does them no good. Man I love this stuff, if only I had a friend that would loan me his four hundred million dollar yacht.

Yeah it was pretty definitive. An easy sending off.

Should have been a yellow from my view but to be honest it sure helped my bet.

Before these lines start moving... what do you think is more likely:

A) Brasil winning by 3 or more goals (Brasil -2.5) or
B) Cameroon-Brasil featuring 4 or more goals (over 3.5)

I watched Cameroon. They want nothing to do with the World Cup. It's a nightmare gone bad. Still there's a way to redeem their bad luck (getting drawn into this group in the first place) and substandard play. How?

SCORE A GOAL.

Will Cameroon attack with reckless abandon?
Could we see another 'Australia type game' with 4-5 goals, or more? How much does Brasil care about getting 1st seed?

I usually range between 1 and 5 units.  Last WC I had plenty of 3 and 4 unit plays - and I even had a 6 unit play on the Netherlands in the Final (a "this one goes to eleven moment").

I am sure that I will have bigger bets coming.  I just haven't felt truly comfortable yet in this WC - the GKing has been erratic and deciding games - and the amount of goals are silly at this point.

So I am watching and learning at this point.  I have already made some adjustments.  But I am not a chaser.  A 2 unit play at the beginning of the tournament when I am even is still a 2 unit play late in the tournament when I am down.  There is no magic breakeven number for me to hit by the end of this.  If I am down 3 units going in to the final - and I don't like it - I just wont bet it.

Sometimes I don't think this translates well to covers at all.  If you are dealing with a bankroll that even if you lost every single game would be more than enough to sustain - you don't worry about these things.  Im not saying this to brag - because this could be a 100 dollar bankroll or a 100K bankroll - it is all about your expectations and how you bet.  Im not an idiot.  I know the avg covers guy with a 100 dollar bankroll bets all of it on my first game hoping to get on a run, and then misses the later games because he is busto. 

Anyway - bigger games will be coming I am sure.  I like Italy a lot and if that keeps coming towards CR I will be betting more.

And if we get a result against Portugal - the yacht will be leaving its home port of Cheyenne Wyoming and heading to Rio in the fast lane - you are more than welcome to jump aboard.  Plenty of supermodels to go around.

Muggsy - to be honest - this is not my type of game to bet.  Everything you say is correct but I am just not the type to lay 2.5 or 3 goals - or hope for an over of 4.

But I will answer - I think I would take the over 3.5 before I took the -2.5, depending on price.

Much appreciated. I respect the way you avoid games that are semi-friendly at this point. Me, I see an edge in every other game I lay my eyes on, lol.

This Brazil team can and will be scored on if the first two games are any indication. I'll grab my balls, stick some money on Over 3.5 and hope for a ridiculous Cahill-like strike for the African side, or a Akinfeev-esque screw up by the home team at some point in the game.

quick question Van, you think the best thing for Brazil was to have their fans doubt them after a so so game vs Mexico?  sometimes after some adversity things start rolling

I do - because I bet it.

Croatia was -1 +100 for the second half.

The total was 1.5 over -112.

And they were -950 to win the game outright
