England and Uruguay both need a win, I think an over here is likely.

Same here.  I was thinking about Croatia -1 in 2H but thought those odds were way too low.

Something to consider overall. In playoffs (such as NHL) whatever happenend during the regular season may not carry much weight as now, in the playoffs. Case in point: Mexico. I am NOT a fan and know they stunk up the joint all of 2013 qualifiers.

 

But they seem to have something now, or flipped the switch. Will it last? Chile has it now and is banging on all cylinders. We'll see.

 

Re: the URU ENG match. I am hesitant to bet on a team that lost it's openener and looked bad doing it - regardless of who the opponent was.

Yesterday Croatia was a great play, thanks Van, because they looked OUTSTANDING against Brazil in the opener. So taking them yesterday, especially after Van had them, was easy for me.

 

Not so sure about URU today + 1/2 -$110 but I am playing them for only for 1/2 Unit, because of the line value and mostly because I think England is doing it with smoke and mirrors. I am not keen on playing a team that lacks cohesion, had a down match, but has stars and "needs to come back". Not a good spot for a real play, for me. Croatia was a strong play yesterday because they showed cohesion and played really well against Brazil.

 

Today Bacca is out for Colombia and if I didn't suspect that FIFA and the networks were drugging all of the Goal Keepers water bottles with downers I would take the under here. Colombia has a great D and I don't see CDI scoring today.

 

But we all know about those unders (I had U Croatia yesterday and many more).

 

By the way if I place a bet - I placed the bet. It's not Van's bet and not his fault if it does not come out. He is greatly aiding with information and great picks - some of which even though they did not win were the right side.

 

Colombia will get a result today and I am taking them -1.2 +$112.

So many great matches coming our way. Life is good.

Just too difficult for me.  I do bet in game - but those are quick decisions that wont translate well to covers.

Let me explain....

I see something live that is good to bet.  I bet it.  Then I post it.  3 minutes later, there are 10 questions about the line changing and if it is still good value.  Then, after the game - everyone complains because my lines weren't their lines and that I cheat on my record.

I have found that posting a line with a pick is really the only thing I can do here and keep my sanity.  I don't post if I buy and sell lines before the game (which I do all the time) or if I add on or take away.  I post the bet I have at the time I make it with a line that is widely available.

Its not perfect - but I have learned with experience - it is the only way to do it here.

The Spain Australia game is very reminiscent to me of France vs South Africa 4 years ago.

A simple 'lean Ivory coast for 2 half' wouldn't need to be reflected on your record, would it?

It would definitely make me and lots of other reasonable posters who like money, very happy though.

Two major differences: SA was the host country and they still had an outside shot to qualify.

The line was ridiculous yesterday, -2.25 @ -150 and O3.5 @ + 102. I went ahead and bet it anyway. It's coming down to earth now, -138 and +116 respectively.

If it dares hit -130 and +130 respectively, I'll double my stakes.

Three draws would suit me just fine.

I'll go out on a limb and say that at least two games will be a one-goal winners. Hopefully we get one SU winner.

Random question..

My book is allowing me to parlay Ivory Coast at +300 with Ivory Coast +175 DNB at almost 10/1 odds..

Am I reading that correctly, or am I able to 3x my odds simply by adding the DNB.

Now, obviously it loses with a Draw, but still.. +300 or +1000 for the same game..

What am I missing?
