My book has Greece PK at +115.
Greece +.5 is -165. Will pass on this and just go with Greece PK +115. Means I will not get anything for a Draw, but can't see paying the -165.

I have found that posting a line with a pick is really the only thing I can do here and keep my sanity.  I don't post if I buy and sell lines before the game (which I do all the time) or if I add on or take away.  I post the bet I have at the time I make it with a line that is widely available.

Its not perfect - but I have learned with experience - it is the only way to do it here.

Do what you feel is best. But why not post your bet and then say if the line adjusts you wouldn't take it? Then you won't get peppered with bullshit afterward.

Punishment of playing shorthanded for more than a half of a WC game does not fit the crime. Toss the guy if it's malicious, but just shorthand the team for 10 or 20 minutes. This is crazy. Did he deserve it? He's the Captain. What's he thinking?!

Great effort by Greece, but just lucky Japan could pass but not score.

The "quick decisions" he spoke of is exactly why. By the time he makes his bet and posts it on covers, the line is almost certain to have changed. Ingames are on a minute to minute or even second to second basis. As someone who plays almost exclusively ingames, I can't possibly blame him for not wanting to get involved with posting those.

The prices he gets on his ingames are likely not prices that others can get, even if at the exact second he plays it. The lines he may be able to get on pinnacle/betfair with a couple cent juice, won't be available to most books that offer 15-20 cent juice on ingames. (I've seen many books with outrageously high juiced live lines) He'd really have to bother giving a time/price explanation for every single bet. Also, unlike pregame bets that are very close from site to site, ingame bets can have a ton of variance between sites. This in itself makes it great, but not exactly ideal when it comes to tailing someone.

Trust me, I'd love to see those posted. But many factors why I'd imagine it's not worth the headache.

In game, yes, I completely agree.  But I was thinking 2H bets where you have much more time.

But like I said, whatever works for him.  I just know there's a silent majority that would love his 2H picks and are mature enough to realize it's their responsibility if the pick wins or loses.

    GL with whatever you choose....

I took Brazil -2.5. Theoretically, if Mexico beats Croatia by a big margin, it could take possession of 1st place.  So there's some incentive for Brazil to win big.  Plus, Mexico's defense embarrassed them w/ a clean sheet. They'll want to redeem themselves.  And when Brazil has faced weak competition in friendlies, they've generally beaten them by big margins.

On the other hand, Cameroon is a complete train wreck.  Eto'o is injured. Song is suspended.  Massive infighting on the pitch.  Can't imagine the issues off the pitch.  They seem ill-equipped to muster much resistance against Brazil.  They look completely resigned to their fate in the 2H of the Croatia match.

As usual I am going to back Ecuador later today as I think this is the biggest mismatch today. Italy looks easy but CR is used to playing in the heat.

I would love to see Van's write up - Hint hint :)

But I am really looking forward to seeing France and Switzerland play today.

    Italy never had a chance.

That was a tactical masterclass by Jorge Luis Pinto.

The high line old school offsides trap worked to perfection on Italy - who had no response.  The idea that Balotelli was going to be able to beat it alone was naïve - and the lack of speed on Italy to burst in to the space just wasn't there.

Pirlo played so shallow in his own end all game he could never effectively link up the attack - and had no targets up front to aim for.  Even when Italy tried to react and sub in some speed - they were constantly caught offside or just simply lost possession.  Balotelli was useless on his own in the first half, and even worse with help in the second because the help never could keep possession and effectively pass the ball.

Italy had no answer.  Italy had zero goal attempts in the second half being down 1-0.  This is simply amazing.  They could have played 90 more minutes and Italy wouldn't have scored.

The main story of the world cup for me is that the Western Hemisphere teams are bringing out a style of football that the European teams are having trouble with.  Chile and Colombia give you 90 minutes of hell - while tiny (and not so talented) CR prove that football often comes down to nothing more than a chess match.

I will learn and adjust from this....

Italy / Uruguay for all the marbles now.

Should be a very interesting game.

    I would say 2-0 France.

I think the total on this game is set just about right under normal circumstances.  That being said - and with the amount of overs we have seen - who knows...

But the Swiss will look to defend first and counter second - French will have plenty of possession.  If Switzerland decide to push their wingbacks up to the flanks in attack - it becomes high risk and high reward - but good for the over.  So watch those outside wingbacks for the Swiss early on - if they do push up in attack - it will open things up for the French too....  But if they decide to sit back and play 4 at the back - good for the under...
