there has to be a way around it. hell, f'n drugs are illegal and i dont see people having too much trouble getting those things all over the place
There will surely be a rise in the number and availability of local bookies looking for sports action, We should all boycott the lotteries, and force individual states to pass their own gambling laws due to lack of funds from no one buying lottery tickets anymore, and Give a shout, Vote Republicans out.

so if this makes banks, neteller ect liable then what ?
It's game over for neteller and all payment processors, despite what anyone else tells you. It's b/s crap. There will be workarounds. I'll just open up a bank in england or something.
Bible thumping maggots.

Vanzack- I understand that they are trying to ban the processing part of it but if we can't fund or retrieve money from our online accounts how will the industry survive. Other than banning websites from the net this isn't problably the biggest threat to online gambling. I doubt seriously that they would be knocking at my door to take me off to jail for gambling but preventing me to sending and receiving money would about neuter my gambling activities all together.

The funny thing is that bookies and organized crime are sitting home toasting this bill right now.
The stupid fucks in washington are going to publicize that internet gambling is illegal, the media will pick it up, and every joe public will go and find a bookie.
Unbeleivable.

wool worth, i can see that US banks would be held liable for this, but neteller is a different case because it is based in the UK. It is not so cut and dry with neteller.
FUCK YOU FRIST

Good question.
Let me tell you some realities.
Right now, eft's are not coded at all. That means that your bank has no idea if an eft is coming form a legitimate company, your mother, or a sportsbook. This bill would require EFT's to be coded. I dont think anyone here understands the magnitude of this. The banks say they cant do it - it would cost a fortune. The bill itself allows for 270 days to find a way to do it - acknowledging that it is difficult to even enforce - if at all.
They certainly dont code cashiers checks or personal checks. How would your bank know that you are recieving or writing a check to a sportsbook in a FOREIGN SOVEREIGN NATION!?!?!?! They cant.
Its political and unenforceable.

THEY ARE A LEGAL COMPANY ON THE LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE.
Do you guys really think if an Amsterdam pot bar sells pot to an American that they are breaking the law? American law applies to Americans and American jurisdiction - it does not apply to SOVEREIGN NATIONS.
Pinnacle and Neteller are under no obligation to follow US law UNLESS THEY WANT TO.
Get a clue.

so if my Banks finds out i have money coming in from off shore books what would they do?
and I need neteller
They cant come after you.
If possible, they could eliminate neteller from making EFT's into your account.
If this happens and Neteller chooses to find a way to keep funding US clients - its as simple as them sending you a check. There is no way for your bank to know where a check comes from.

We will have a few months anyway to get everything straightened out. Bush will sign this bill while he is sleeping tonight. But there is always the check method like VANZACK said...
